Have you heard of HeroRATs?
« on: March 24, 2014, 05:24:01 PM »
Have you heard of Hero Rats? There is a group called Apopo in Africa, where they are training Gambian Pouched Rats to detect land mines and tuberculosis. Much the same as we use dogs here in NA.

It's so awesome to see these rats working with their trainers - out in the fields, finding unexploded bombs so innocent people don't get hurt, or in the labs - one rat can screen in an hour an entire day's worth of lab samples!

You can donate to support the group, or even adopt a rat of your own, and you get to watch it go from a little pinkie, through training, into a full graduate working rat!

I know about these yes and I wasn't at all surprised. Rodents are brilliant, rats especially so.
