New 35th Anniversary Collector Ponies Spotted! Pics!

Minty, Butterscotch, and Cotton Candy were popular early G3 ponies, so people's who collected G3 might like their G1 counterparts, not to mention Minty also made it into G4.

I got a Starshine plush cuz she's white (my favorite pony color) and was considering getting the repro, until I got the original for Christmas right after they were announced. She has a couple brown spots under her glitter so if they're rust I miiiight get the repro anyway.

Snuzzle is the one I remember as a kid, because a cousin of mine had her. Don't remember if they had any of the others.

Popped into Target again and an obvious restock of toys occurred, no 80s MLP though. How frustrating, why didn't I get my butt into the store in January. GRR! Actually I want the experience of getting them in store, I don't want to buy them online. lol. Still only Butterscotch.

No time to stop and ask a worker if they had any in the back not put out yet either, or if they'd be getting more, been stuck in work 12 hours a day and it makes it impossible.

I was going to try there again as well, it's right out the door and to the right of Target, but picked up my phone and my boss was like can you get here now.

I don't have a real connection with any of the collector ponies. I started getting ponies during year two with Medley, Bow tie, and Starshine.

I got Minty cause I didn't have a vintage one.  But I'm drawn to Retro Cotton candy.  She's just so lovely pastel pink.

I went around to the closest Targets today to find a full set for someone. I found Snuzzle/Cotton Candy/Blue Belle/Blossom at one store, Blue Belle/Blossom/Snuzzle at the second store, and Minty/Butterscotch and 3 others at the third store.

Since these are the stores I bought out that first night, it sounds like people in my area are still shopping for them, just not all at once.

I didn't see them in store when I was in two days ago, which was odd! I'm in Target at least every other week. To be fair, I wasn't looking as hard as I was previously, but I didn't see the Strawberry Shortcake dolls either. Huh.
I'd imagine Minty would be the most popular retro pony because she's the most expensive out of the original six (she's the only one I don't have yet in CF or FF), but Cotton Candy is more iconic, I feel.

So who do you think are the most popular sellers? I've seen a lot of youtube reviewers with Bluebelle and Cotton Candy.

When the 25th anniversary ponies were sold in sets of 3, at least it was easier to get a complete set. I was just a preteen who happened to find them in a store those so idk if those were any harder to find than the 35s.

Any idea why Minty is the most experienced of the original 6? How much is she worth?

I wonder if HMV might be a good place to contact with regards UK? They already sell funkos and retro MLP notebooks so it might be something they'd be interested in.

I think I did contact Entertainer but hadn't thought of HMV. I wonder if they are a bit too toyish though for HMV?

I've also wondered about other stores like Forbidden Planet...:/

I guess the answer is with TRU going, contacting anywhere that MIGHT stock them can't hurt??

If I am right in thinking Fashems are also connected to TBD somehow, they seem to be in Tesco a lot here...Tesco is my top bet at the moment, actually, because they already have the Target licence. Tesco and Smyths are my real bets, with Asda as an outside because they did respond to my email and say they were passing it to their buyer. They also said customer input is important to their decisions, so yeah. Dunno.

No response to my snail mail letter to Hasbro yet. Unless my hall of residence sorting system ate it. Which can happen.

Tried a different Target this evening and picked up 3 more:  Cotton Candy, Bluebelle, and Snuzzle. They surprisingly had 3 Butterscotch, which I had already had. Least best selling? Does that mean they stocked 3 times (at least) and Butterscotch was left over all those times?

Still don't have Blossom and Minty.

One of my Targets still has not gotten any more ponies and has moved the Fisher Price tape recorders in to the spot marked for the anniversary ponies.

I saw all six at my TRU (Orem, UT, USA) yesterday.  Sadly they were not included in the MLP buy one/get one 40% off deal.
