Don't we just LOVE ebay

and  non responsive sellers for that matter.

the problem:

I  "purchased"   an item from an international ebay seller ( ebay France i believe)
the item  was listed as ships world wide,
and the listing showed the shipping rates for the various countries.

so  i went to check out and  buy the item,  an action figure if your curious.
only ebay won't let me pay for it!
the seller has to send me an invoice with the shipping before ebay will let me pay.
ok fair enough.

so i request an invoice,
a week passes and   there is no responce.
i send another request,  and another , and another!
before long it's been well over a month and the seller still won't respond  to my requests.

ok then  i'll cancel the item , ...
nope the seller has to approve that  one too!

another 5 days pass!
i send the seller  a few  pm's to the tune of

"please  send me an invoice for this so i can  pay it,
or if you don't want to ship it  then please cancel the item!"

 
another  week and a few more messages  of  similar content
and still no response at all from the seller!

meanwhile over this time frame there feedback page suggests that they have indeed been active on the site.
so what gives?

and 
what the hell do i do now?


suggestions please?

Have you tried contacting anyone from ebay??? Not sure if you can open a case since you haven't paid yet but you could send an email or call...maybe someone will go ahead and cancel it for you. If I was you I wouldn't want to buy it from them now anyway...they don't seem very reliable.  :huh: Sounds confusing...good luck!

i did email  ebay about it  but i am yet to hear back about it.
that was a number of  days ago now as well.

ugh  what a frustrating situation! :(  I would suggest you try calling ebay on the phone (ebay in your country ) and explaining the situation (since sometimes emails dont get through to them or they dont answer - I had this happen to me  earlier this year)  or perhaps you could also try sending the French seller a message in french (if you dont speak french there are members here who can help or theres a pretty good free online translator called Babylon)
let us know how it goes :hug: it sounds to me like the best thing that could happen is that it gets cancelled

so i got on to ebay's help desk,
unfortunatly they don't seam to be able to help??

this is the email i got back from them

"Thank you for contacting eBay about the Freddy Krueger action figure you purchased from raftrooper who has been unresponsive. I understand that this has been worrisome on your end.
 
Do know that we can’t send a request or open one on the seller’s behalf. I commend you for being in contact with the seller about this matter. I still recommend that you send them another email informing them that you won’t be able to pay for the item and want to cancel the transaction.
 
Just keep your communication with the seller within the eBay messaging system so we can keep track on the details of the transaction that is happening between you and the seller.
 
I also suggest that you leave appropriate Feedback and Detailed Seller Ratings for your trading partner to signify how satisfied or dissatisfied you are with the whole situation. Let me assure you that appropriate Feedback will create a huge impact on their account since this will be visible to the prospective buyers as well. Detailed Seller Ratings will also impact their account since we restrict sellers from selling once their Detailed Seller Ratings go below our set standards, and the fee discounts are revoked.
 
Thank you for choosing eBay and have a good day."

what would you guys do in this situation?
should i just leave the seller negative feedback? 
i have send more than a dozen messages to this seller asking  that that do  something.
either invoice me or  just cancel the thing altogether.
but they have ignored all messages.

It's definitely odd they have not responded. It is even more odd that they seem to not even notice they have an item waiting to be paid for without opening a case after that amount of time for non-payment. I mean most folks notice right after a few days that they are awaiting payment and are worried about losing their final value fee's. I know it's not your fault what so ever but one would think the seller would at least notice that.

Unfortunately I am not sure what else you can do?  :(  Is this person still actively selling? Have they left feedback recently for others/received feedback for items?

yes they are still active and have been leaving and receiving  feedback this whole time.
so i don't understand what's going on with this?

i have sent them yet another message about the item
if i don't hear any thing in  the next few days im   going to just leave them  negative feed back.
it seams to me that they are deliberately ignoring this for some reason.
and because of the way ebay is set up i can't do anything  unless the seller responds
