The combo of tinsel hair + Quackers pose is a "no" for me, but I do actually have her. My mom spotted her in a thrift shop and recognised her as an old pony!

Welcome to the Arena! Any ideas on who you'll try to get from G2 as your Pinkie rep?

I think I used acetone-free nail polish remover when deflocking my wind whistler, and that seemed to turn out pretty well. It leaves kind of a slimy feeling behind, but with a bit of soap and water that comes off too.

I follow a blog that recommends using something called LA's Totally Awesome, but I'm not sure what the exact product is. It can apparently leave the hair pretty dry, but it can be fixed with conditioner.

I have the one with the balloon design and the beanie plush. She's very cute, and I love that she's kind of a prankster!

I'm glad people like the site and thank you for all your feedback ^^

i honestly love this! i had the same idea recently for my own collection & even tried with neocities myself, but i can't handle all the html... i used to be good with it when i played neopets, now, not so much :( i moved my stuff over to a tumblr page, but haven't started much up at all.

how did you manage to make the different columns with links & images above?

this is my neocities: https://stjarnes-pony-stash.neocities.org/
it's a bit all over the place. i haven't touched it for a month or so.

Your site is so cool! Beth is right about the cursor, it's so fun! How did you add it?

The columns thing is just a table with a transparent background, like this:
Code: [Select]
<table width=70% border="0">
   <tbody>
     <tr>
        <td width=25% bgcolor=transparent align=center><img height=125 src=Image1></td>
        <td width=25% bgcolor=transparent align=center><img height=125 src=Image2></td>
        <td width=25% bgcolor=transparent align=center><img height=125 src=Image3></td>
        <td width=25% bgcolor=transparent align=center><img height=125 src=Image4></td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td width=25% bgcolor=transparent align=center><a href=link1.html><p>Column 1, Row 1</p></a></td>
        <td width=25% bgcolor=transparent align=center><a href=link2.html><p>Column 2, Row 1</p></a></td>
        <td width=25% bgcolor=transparent align=center><a href=link3.html><p>Column 3, Row 1</p></a></td>
        <td width=25% bgcolor=transparent align=center><a href=link4.html><p>Column 4, Row 1</p></a></td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td width=25% bgcolor=transparent align=center><a href=link5.html><p>Column 1, Row 2</p></a></td>
        <td width=25% bgcolor=transparent align=center><a href=link6.html><p>Column 2, Row 2</p></a></td>
        <td width=25% bgcolor=transparent align=center><a href=link7.html><p>Column 3, Row 2</p></a></td>
        <td width=25% bgcolor=transparent align=center><a href=link8.html><p>Column 4, Row 2</p></a></td>
     </tr>
   </tbody>
</table>

I don't know much html myself but if you ever want help working on your side I'd love to try ^^

I signed your guestbook! I haven't said that in decades :lol:

I think it looks very oldschool. I agree that a full size banner with sparkle gifs would be perfect.

Can you add a MIDI player? :lol:

Maybe add a Home button on the other pages?

I think it would be okay to host videos yourself. I don't know about the downloading part though. I think that tows the line a bit.

I could look into adding a midi player, I didn't think of that

And the logo at the top always links back to the home page. I could have made that a bit clearer, I've added a line about it on the index page now ^^; I might add a little icon at the bottom of each page as well

I might just stick with the youtube links for most videos and only hosting the ones that have been taken down that I have saved

i love the site!

Not sure if this is an option but adding a visitor count would be very 90s. the header idea sounds great :) anything the sparkles and moves feels very 90s to me.

self hosted videos look much nicer than youtube embeds but just FYI bandwidth can get a little pricy.

A visitor counter is something I really want to add but there's a bit more code behind it than I originally thought. I'll keep looking up tutorials and stuff though, I do want one eventually

Love this site

Thank you ^^

I also left a note in the guestbook about my visit to the website.  :cool: Great site! :heart: I really like its name and you've managed to create a 90s style for it!  :iconclap:

Thank you both BC and HOM for leaving notes in the guestbook, I didn't actually think anyone would do that ^^

Paradise Estate looks so cute in this game, I was so happy when I realised that's where they would be living!

Best of luck getting Cotton Candy, Ponyfan, I'm sure you'll make it!

Arts & Crafts Corral / My 90's inspired pony website!

So I've been following a tumblr blog called Old Web MLP for a while now and love seeing all the sites people used to make for their collections and stuff, and then I realised I could make one myself!

I call it The Pony Highway!

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

It's got pages for pictures of my collection, my ocs, my wish and trade list, my art, a bunch of cool links AND (I've been meaning to make a proper site for this for a while) a proper home for my commercial archiving project! I'm still working on getting all the videos and stuff up right now but hopefully it will be nice when it's done.

Some things I'm planning on doing:

  • Basic HTML tutorials (I highly recommend people make their own sites, it's so much fun and neocities has a great free plan. If anyone wants help making one just let me know!)
  • List of missing commercials
  • Toggle between list view and gallery view of commercials
  • Putting anchors on the English g1 commercials page since it's so long
  • Background music inspired by G2
  • Individual pictures of some of my favourites pieces in my collection
  • More buttons! If anyone has requests, please let me know!

I also have a couple of questions, if anyone wants to give their input:

  • How do I make it look more 90s? I'm thinking replace the logo with a full banner and add a bunch of sparkle gifs. Anything else it needs for a more authentic feel?
  • Would it be better to have the archive consist of links to YT videos, like I have now, or to host them directly on the site itself? I want to have a place where they can be directly downloaded, but I don't want to take credit away from the people who uploaded them to YT in the first place. Plus some of them have channel watermarks. I had this issue when working on the archive a while ago and I'm still not sure what to do.
  • Is there anything else people would like to see on the site? I'm making it primarily as a personal project for myself, but I still want other people to enjoy visiting it too.

This is my first time in a while making a website so if anyone has any feedback please let me know, and I hope you have fun exploring the Pony Highway ^^

Also I hope this is the right board for this. It's kind of like a big digital art project, right?
