So I've been following a tumblr blog called Old Web MLP for a while now and love seeing all the sites people used to make for their collections and stuff, and then I realised I could make one myself!

I call it The Pony Highway!

It's got pages for pictures of my collection, my ocs, my wish and trade list, my art, a bunch of cool links AND (I've been meaning to make a proper site for this for a while) a proper home for my commercial archiving project! I'm still working on getting all the videos and stuff up right now but hopefully it will be nice when it's done.


Some things I'm planning on doing:

• Basic HTML tutorials (I highly recommend people make their own sites, it's so much fun and neocities has a great free plan. If anyone wants help making one just let me know!)
• List of missing commercials
• Toggle between list view and gallery view of commercials
• Putting anchors on the English g1 commercials page since it's so long
• Background music inspired by G2
• Individual pictures of some of my favourites pieces in my collection
• More buttons! If anyone has requests, please let me know!

I also have a couple of questions, if anyone wants to give their input:

• How do I make it look more 90s? I'm thinking replace the logo with a full banner and add a bunch of sparkle gifs. Anything else it needs for a more authentic feel?
• Would it be better to have the archive consist of links to YT videos, like I have now, or to host them directly on the site itself? I want to have a place where they can be directly downloaded, but I don't want to take credit away from the people who uploaded them to YT in the first place. Plus some of them have channel watermarks. I had this issue when working on the archive a while ago and I'm still not sure what to do.
• Is there anything else people would like to see on the site? I'm making it primarily as a personal project for myself, but I still want other people to enjoy visiting it too.

I don't know if anyone remembers the little commercial archiving project I started a while ago, but I've been keeping up with that. Somehow I completely forgot that the original reason I wanted a MLW account was so I could update the commercials page and didn't remember until a couple days ago

But now I've gone through every commercial I had listed on my google doc and have updated the G1 TV Advertisements page on the MLW, as well as creating a G2 TV Advertisements page as well! I still have the Google doc (here), but I probably won't be updating it that much from now on, the wiki page is so much easier to keep track of. I've found a bunch more commercials since I last posted about this, so I hope people have fun going through them all ^^

I am still looking for new commercials to archive and higher quality versions of ones I have, in all languages, so if anyone knows of any I don't, I would be super grateful if you let me know!


Oh, and before I forget, there's something I would like advice on. I'm trying to clean up the audio and visuals of the commercials and upload them to a youtube channel (here), but I don't know what the general consensus is on reuploading what are technically other people's videos, even if I've edited them, credited the original upload in the description and the people who uploaded them in the first place didn't actually make the ads themselves. It's mainly for the future's sake, in case the videos I currently have linked are taken down, and to fix things like audio only coming out of one side, but I'm worried about like permissions and stuff, since there's no way some of the channels I found videos on will still be active after a decade or whatever, so I can't contact them. So, am I technically allowed to upload these and link to them, or should I just stick to the original ones I found and only link to the new ones if the original is taken down? Does this make sense?

Someone on MLPMerch posted a link to a set of plushies that I've been waiting on for a while now, but they only seem to be available on this Dutch site. I tried making an account but it won't ship the plushes to either the UK address I'm currently at or my home address in the US.

Because the site is Dutch, I'm assuming it will ship to the Netherlands. And it might ship to some other countries but I don't have a good way of checking. If someone in the Netherlands or any country that it will ship to would be willing to have it shipped to them and then ship the plush to America, I would really appreciate it and would totally be willing to pay all costs and fees and shipping and whatnot!

Welcome! This is my first adopt, and I hope to make more in different styles in the future! These are styled after the ponies from MLP n Friends. Most of the different features are on separate layers, so they can be mixed and matched.

• I can add small accessories and stuff, but nothing major. No full outfits or anything
• I can do official ponies (nirvanas, variants, merch-only ponies, etc. included) and original ponies. Anyone can use the official ponies, but original characters can only be used by their owners.
• For original ponies: Hair style used by female ponies in the show = Short Mane & Short Tail, hair style used by the big brother ponies = Long Mane & Long Tail (to avoid gendering).
• Official ponies will be given feathering if their toy and/or art have it and, OCs will get feathering if they have it in their ref, if they have hoof colours different from their body, or if you just want me to add it, in which case please let me know.

So a little while ago I was lucky enough to get a Tux n Tails off of ebay. He's in fantastic condition overall, but his hair is kind of a mess. Usually I would just wash and brush hair like that and it would all be good, but in this case he still has some factory curls. Are original curls valuable enough that I should just leave his hair alone even though it's messy, or am I okay to fix up his hair without reducing his value too much?

I'm not planning on selling him any time soon, he was my grail pony and is possibly my favourite G1 overall, but I just want to know should I ever decide to sell him in the future, or in case I ever come across other ponies with factory curls.

I recently got some of the rainbow roadtrip figures that have tails that change colour in the water, but I don't really like the gimmick. Is there any way to remove the top layer or something so that the tails are always coloured? I'm willing to experiment with rubbing alcohol and acetone and stuff, I just wanted to check if anyone already knew.

I recently set up a display with my G3 ice cream truck and some ponies (photos under spoiler) and I would love to see what displays other people have set up.

I'm probably one of only a few people who cares about MLP commrecials, but for the past couple of months I've been working on archiving every single one from G1-G3, and I think I've found all of the ones I can on my own. If anyone here has a link or a file of any commercials that I'm missing, or a higher quality version of one I already have, I would really appreciate the help. I'm archiving commercials in all languages, as well as regional variations (American/Canadian/English and stuff like that).

I'm also tentatively going to post the link to a Google drive folder with downloaded versions of almost all the commercials. I say tentatively because I'm not sure about the legality or ethics of it all. Is it okay to download files that people have uploaded if they didn't make the original video? What about removing channel watermarks? I really don't know. The folder contains higher quality versions of quite a few of the listed commercials, since I've spent a while with color correction, background noise removal, cropping and resizing, and I'm quite proud of them so I'll post the link for now.
