How much hair to order? (and other MH hair questions)

Hi guys!

I'm pretty tempted to buy a MH doll to customize, but I have no idea how much hair I'd have to buy. Which hank size from Dollyhair is the best one to get?

EDIT: I have more questions!

- How much mohair would it take to reroot an MH doll? I notice they're usually sold by the oz.

- Has anyone rerooted a doll with yarn and 'puffed' it out? (Like the perfume puff ponies). How did it turn out?

I ordered 4 RD hanks of saran, kinda hoping that should be more than enough

Monster High dolls take around 3 hanks Sometimes you can get just a little over 2, but to be on the safe side, I'd get 3. Easiest to style is nylon, however most Monster High dolls naturally come with saran hair.

Well not sure about dollyhair as our hanks run a little bit bigger for standard size, but yes 3 retro dolls us hanks is what I used, it was JUST a little over 2 hanks, so I had extra to use on a pony www.retrodollsus.com

With Dollyhair sized hanks 2 or 3 hanks will cover you. We our supplied by Dollyhair so have the same sized hanks as well.

It actually depends on how long you want the hair to be. Just cut in half, one of Dollyhair's 38in Saran hair juust covers the whole head, and leaves the hair a little longer than the doll itself. In thirds it's down to her knees, and you have even more left.
