Winter Ice and Northern Lights
« on: August 31, 2016, 09:48:55 AM »
I'm on a rabid search for these 2 ponies. They were a Target exclusive (and Target nearly a nationwide store) so I figured they would be more easy to find then Ribbons & Bows and Jingle Jangle, which were Meijer's exclusives (and i'm going to assume Meijer's aren't nationwide because I haven't heard of any in Texas or in the southern region for that matter) but what's more obnoxious and annoying to me is that I see more of Ribbons & Bow and Jingle Jangle around (be it here, on ebay ) than Winter Ice and Northern Lights  :pout: were these 2 short stocked or something? The ponies that were in nationwide stores are practically nowhere to be found! Can anyone shed some light on this situation?
Oh no!

I don't know about their distribution but I've noticed that for some reason when you actually are looking for a specific pony - any pony - they tend to all go underground.  :P

Yes. I too have noticed that and then they magically resurface for an amazing price when your out of money. :pout:

I just checked My Little Wiki. I've never seen her before! Winter Ice is so cute!

Baby Northern Lights tends to pop up now and then on eBay.

It took me ages to track down baby winter ice, she didn't come up that often and when she did she was always IMO very over priced!

I ended up paying over the odds for her in the end! Good luck hunting!

I bought one of these from a member on a different MLP forum I belong to.  She is one of my pony pals who had an extra.  I'm in the process of moving and just packed up my G3 stuff a little bit ago but I think I have both ponies.  Maybe post a want list here or you might try the My Little Pony Trading post too.

Nice find! I love winter ponies, so I hope I am lucky to enough to find them at a reasonable price one day. I have only ever come across them at the pony fair!

IIRC, these had a spotty Target distribution back in the day, which may account for their high prices nowadays.  Also, G3 babies were not popular, so I don't think as many collectors were buying them.

In hindsight, I wish I'd known these were the collectable ones, as I remember running into them on clearance, very early into my collecting days.  Of course, I had no idea they'd be rare, so I passed them up.  Ah, well.
