I took the time today to give my ponies some TLC - even though they are in cabinets they seem to collect a lot of dust so I rearranged some sets, gave them all a wipe and also put some new ponies on display.
I've been collecting for about 15 years (god I feel old now!) but I downsized my collection considerably following a change in my circumstances. This meant I sold all of my playsets (RIP mint complete Dream Castle and Nursery) and some more common ponies. I held onto the rarer or mint ponies that I knew I would struggle to get again. I am SO glad I didn't sell everything - in a way it has been a good thing as I now concentrate on just finding the ponies I like the best or completing sets rather than 'catching em all'. I also like to find ponies in the mintest condition possible which is in itself a fun challenge.
So anyway here are my ponies and new acquisitions from the past few months :)

I love them so much - Twist's colours are SO much better without flocking! My aim is to eventually get the flocked and deflocked versions of all of the ponies.
Hope you enjoyed the photos. I think it'll take me years to actually get everything on my list ticked off but I'm in no rush!

Lovely! We'll have the same way to collect -only the favorites- (but I've got too many favorites) and I do LOVE the defloked ones so much as well.

Gorgeous collection. Sorry you sold off some of your ponies a while back. I did something similar and regretted it later. Playsets take up SO much room though so it's great you now have extra space for ponies you really love. Beautiful pics. Thanks for sharing :D

Yes they really do! Part of what made me sell the. Was the fact that I had nowhere to keep them in a small flat. It was still nice to own them for even a little bit.

Beautiful! I love how your flutters have such beautiful hair and their accessories and even their puffy stickers (as a U.S. collector of course I haven't really seen one before!) And wings, too (repro or original, they're beautiful!) So many pretty ponies! And lovely deflocks. (And lol, I never knew Leafy's eyes were like that!)

Thanks Haruna! Their wings are all original but I bought them in the days before I knew good repro wings existed, so now I would just buy repro wings for the rest. They look exactly the same and real wings are just crazy expensive!

I think the thing the Mommy charms is in is a thimble holder for thimble collectors, they fit perfectly in there! It was very cheap too if I remember correctly.

You've got a beautiful collection and a lovely display setup too! I always used to cringe to see deflocked SS ponies, but seeing them on display in a set has totally changed by mind! I bought a deflocked Angel years ago because I never thought I'd be able to afford/find once in good condition. When I did manage to find a mint Angel I had been planning to sell her on, but now I think she'll be the first in my deflocked set for keeps. They look so lovely displayed together.

To be honest I was the same - I don’t like altering the look of a pony to make it look less original but these deflocks were all in really bad shape, either severe rubbing, yellowed glue...Truly had matted, bobbly flocking and highlighter and taking it off has improved their appearance to much. They look lovely now but I’d never deflock a pony that still looked nice on display even if it had a few flaws.
Your collection looks great in those cabinets! It seems like we both like the same ponies, I wish I had all of yours!
