Pony Corral / Price check: My Pretty Ponies & Soft Sleepy Newborn
« on: January 29, 2021, 12:16:32 PM »
Hi guys, I'm trying to raise money for a big purchase and so want to sell some items. I need a little help with pricing as my go to of ebay sold listings is not being helpful. I've taken just some quick pictures for now.

Brown My Pretty Pony is in very nice shape with her lever working. She has a paint scratch on one leg. Please forgive the state of her tail, I'm working on untangling and smoothing it out. Her hair is super dry. Not pictured is her original box and manual. The box is very worn around the edges.

Peachy Pretty Pony is in a condition only her mother could love. She is extremely discolored though she is much more even on both sides then when I first received her. I don't know if my picture quite shows it. Her eyes are weirdly crusty though one is worse than the other. She has paint scratches and her leaver is broken and rattling inside her. Upside is her hair is nice haha

Sweet Dreams is a bit dirty from sitting on a shelf at parent's house for a couple years and not being dusted ^^; Obviously I'll need to giver her a bath. One symbol has a scratch and her neck seam is kinda gapey? Her panties have a stain on one side and the elastic is completely worn out. Her hair is nice but it's been braided for awhile. Her tail is braided and looped so that's why you see that tuft of hair sticking up. Her eyes open and close no problem.

Pony Brag Arena / Thrift store luck strikes again
« on: November 26, 2018, 12:16:41 PM »
I think when you visit second hand stores as often as I do you are bound to have good luck and the odds were definitely in my favor on this day!

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I couldn't quite believe it at first when I spotted one then two then THREE bags of G1 ponies. I'm so used to a single pony here and there with a sharpie price staining it's body. I never paused to even inspect the bags just grabbed them and hugged them to my chest protectively. My husband came around the corner with some random item (don't think I even looked at it) saying "Look what I found" and I interrupted him saying "LOOK WHAT I FOUND!!" I was in a bit of a daze the rest of that trip, couldn't wait to get home and see what I had.

The full set of year 5 Twice as Fancy ponies!! This is the fastest set completion I've ever had haha I already have Dancing Butterflies and Sugar Berry so once these gals have gone through a spa day I'll decide which I want to keep and sell the extra.

I don't think I've ever seen a Starshine this color before  I plan to keep Confetti and Sunlight for sure and if she doesn't sell anytime soon maybe I'll attempt a rehair on Posey for my army.

Birthday pony really stood out in the bag. I'm really happy to get her! She is such a fun unique pony! Her streamers are all stretched out so I need to figure out how to fix them up a bit. My second favorite of these is Fizzy, she has such a pretty pastel color scheme.

So many babies!! Highlights are of course baby Fifi and the mail order baby Blue Ribbon. I love how blue they are. Such bold dark colors were underused.

So there it is my recent crazy good luck!

Pony Brag Arena / Amazing luck after a thrifting break
« on: April 22, 2018, 02:57:42 PM »
My husband and I just LOVE going to the thrift stores. We would go so often we were always finding some sort of treasure. Sadly we decided we needed to be more responsible and take a break. Well on Friday we had some extra cash and decided to stop at one Goodwill.

It was so worth it to find G1s!
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Poor Ringlet's hair is gonna be a chore to fix and she has some rough spots but she is still beautiful! I was so surprised to see Baby Countdown! My husband found him and brought him to me "This is a G1 baby right?" <3

I also want to brag on a recent trade.
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I always liked her color scheme but when she was in stores I didn't want to collect any G4. When I decided I did want her she was going for prices I didn't to pay for such a tiny plastic horse. Trading for her was such a perfect solution!

Another G4 I wanted because of G3 connections but never thought I'd get since she was released in a set.
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

She was a thrift store find some months ago that I never did a brag for.

I love finding ponies I never thought I'd easily get!

Arts & Crafts Corral / Nina's Crochet Pony Plush
« on: September 12, 2017, 12:47:12 PM »
Just wanted to share a couple of pony plush I've made that I've never shared. I made two OC ponies for a private swap with rosierjay and I'm just so proud of them I had to share. Plush a commission from a friend.

This is Meron who is made of soda. She was so fun to do! I strung beads onto the yarn before I started to represent soda bubbles.

Previously I just embroidered the symbol straight onto the rump of the plush but her symbol was a bit more complicated so I embroidered it onto cloth then sewed it on. Since it was my first time it's a little rough.

Here is Garis with his cute little bee symbol

Lastly is Rainbow Dash that a friend had me make for her niece.

I did a little better this time making a "patch" for the symbol.

I'm going to add my first two plush I made under a spoiler.

Granny Smith was my first and possibly my favorite. Her symbol and shawl were definitely labor intensive but so worth it.

Pony Brag Arena / My cousin gave me her childhood ponies!
« on: July 23, 2017, 10:21:52 PM »
I got married back in May and just before I got a text message from my Aunt asking if I would be interested in my cousins old "my baby ponies." I tried to reply with a very composed "yes! Yes I do!" I wasn't sure at all what I'd be getting and if they were going to be real MLP or fakies or whatever. I was very excited though and when my Aunt showed up for the wedding with a shoebox I was asked if I wanted it then or after... I took the box to our wedding night hotel!

My cousin was a very careful and organized child. Besides a bit of surface grubbiness these babies are in amazing condition with nearly all accessories! I couldn't believe my luck! I matched accessories the best I could but if anyone could correct mistakes that'd be great.

Pony Corral / Interesting variants I picked up accidently
« on: October 23, 2016, 10:08:44 AM »
I have 3 sparkle pony Sunspots that I have acquired from various sources. I'm not really big on the sparkle ponies so I've been preparing to sell these. While photographing them I discovered they are ALL different! I feel like I've heard somewhere it is common for sparkle ponies to have subtle variants but not sure where I got that info. Any way I thought I'd share my discovery for anyone else who interested in this kind of thing to see and discuss.

Here is A (green yarn) and B
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

visitors can't see pics , please register or login
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

A's hair instead of being just faded white actually seems more golden or maybe it's just yellowed. She has gold tinsel in mane and tail.
B's hair is faded white with her tail still having pink in it. However her mane tinsel appears to be silver while her tail tinsel is gold.
Their symbols are noticeably different in color and smiley face placement.

Here is C who has the pinkest hair
visitors can't see pics , please register or login
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

And C appears to have silver tinsel in both mane and tail

All three together

This probably is something not too uncommon and perhaps the tinsel is faded not factory error? It just amused me that I had 3 of the same pony and they were all different!

Arts & Crafts Corral / Help me design a pony symbol!
« on: May 24, 2016, 08:30:47 PM »
So when I got interested in MLP again as a late teenager/young adult I pretty quickly came up with pony versions of myself and my family. This was before I even got on the internet to discover other collectors and that having a "ponysona" was a thing. I did a lot of drawing around that time and did a few drawings of my family together and all that. Then when I got in a relationship a few years ago he thought my love of MLP was neat and wanted a pony too and so we created a pony together and I even went so far as to get a custom done for him as a Christmas gift.

Well I am currently in a new relationship with the best person on the planet! I adore him and he adores me and we are just the best! I am stumped on creating him a pony. And it's the symbol that is kicking my butt. He is so kind and thoughtful and generous and just so full of love and all I can think of is hearts.... That seems kind of lame really. Also my mother has stylized heart for her pony symbol because she is the best mother in the world and the most mothering-est mother and love and hearts made sense for her. My mother and fiance don't need to share a symbol lol

I feel so uncreative... He helpfully suggested something to do with movies and music as those are biggest interests. He is such a movie buff, he has a huge collection of movies and actually once worked at Blockbuster and was loving it. I wanted to doing something with film reel and music notes but I can't simplify anything enough for a nice simple pony symbol. I suppose he could be one of those G3 ponies with the fancy design all up and down one leg lol

I really want to figure this out because I want to do art of us together. We are getting married next May so it would be neat to incorporate our ponies in some small way. Also I think it makes him a little sad that I haven't created anything for him yet..

Please help!

Wanted! / Wanted: Dolly mix ponies
« on: May 10, 2016, 03:02:01 PM »
Hi,
I'll be getting married next May. For centerpieces at the reception I'll be making little terrariums using Star Wars Micromachines for my fiance and for me I'd like to use dollymix ponies. I never liked the G3 ponyville and while I collect some G4 blindbags I don't feel like that generation represents me. I discovered the dollymix which combine my two favorite generations.
I hope someone can help me out!

I am looking for:
Starsong
Cheerilee
Sweetie Belle
ToolaRoola
Firefly
Heart throb
Blossom
Bluebelle
2x Lemondrop (Lavender and yellow are my wedding colors :) )
Sundance
Glory
Princess Sparkle

I don't have to have all of these ultimately these are just the ones I'm most interested in. Thank you!

Off Topic / Safeway Monopoly Game
« on: April 15, 2016, 11:30:52 PM »
Is anyone else participating in the Safeway Monopoly game? My family is and we have a ridiculous amount of extra game pieces.
I have a theory that some pieces are more common in other parts of the country then others. Although the most likely thing is they just don't print that many of certain pieces. But still, anyone want to help me test the theory and swap pieces?

I don't want to single out specific pieces just shove a whole stack in an envelope and mail it off. We've never gotten this far in one of these silly games before. We were never a McDonald's eating family. We shop at Safeway a lot and the type of cat food we buy gets bonus pieces so they are really stacking up.

Anyways drop me a pm if interested

Oh and feel free to make this a silly party thread

Pony Brag Arena / Private Birthday Swap with Saja
« on: April 25, 2015, 11:39:02 AM »
I am super delayed in posting this brag but here it is. I love doing swaps with Saja she is too much fun

This was a very full box..let's start with some of the random extras.

Butterflies and snowflakes are some favorite things of mine. These butterflies have magnets so now every magnetic surface I can find in my bedroom and bathroom will be decorated with them. And come winter my house will be a winter wonderland :cold:
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Lovely jewelry showing how much care Saja gives to details like my love for dolphins, feathers  and snowflakes. I appreciated the peacock feathers from the peacock queen  My sister was jealous, she loves feather earrings.
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Lot's of keychains for my keychain collection. I really must visit Australia since I now have more keychains from there than any other country. And that little horse? Sooooo cuddly soft.
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Random Australia fun! Hmm I left out all the TimTams and other candy...probably because i was eating it all.
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Cookie cutters and feather silicon mold and awesome sandwich cutter. If I ever have children I am totally sending them to school with dolphin shaped sandwiches.
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Chinese knockoff Transformers Movie Grimlock! I have a very teeny Transformers collection and this guy is a fun addition. Also digging the shiny decepticon logo it belongs somewhere cool but I haven't decided where.
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I love practical use items and pony stickers! I think the Lalaloopsy brand ponies are so adorable and I hope they make more in the future.
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Now for the ponies!! I am now the proud owner of the full set of Brush n Grow ponies!! And I'm super close to completing the Merry Go Round and Summer Wing sets. :newpony:
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I had to save this for last because he is honestly my favorite part  ^.^ Saja got me this ADORABLE crocheted cockatiel in the same coloration as my own baby Mr. Feathers. I about died from the cuteness.

Thank you Saja for being such a wonderful person to swap with! I LOVED this box and everything in it!

So I totally missed out on those cute mug and cocoa sets that were being sold at Rite Aid. I purchased a set from a member already but I really want some more mugs. I found the whole set listed on Amazon already for 17.99 and I am not prepared to pay that much when it originally retailed for 5.99 a month ago. At any rate if anyone has some mugs they wouldn't mind parting with let me know please!

Pony Brag Arena / My BEST Thrift store haul yet!
« on: November 06, 2014, 10:49:58 PM »
So I have found ponies at the thrift before. Mostly G3s and once a nice G1. This was a pony jackpot. My boyfriend was with me and he takes credit for my luck lol

I'll start with my "favorites." Pony Bride was my first find and I was shocked to see she had her ring and veil! Then 'YAY" my first eyelash princess!! With a cape! These ladies are all in gorgeous condition, very near mint. The fly in the ointment is that their prices were written on their bodies with sharpie. Everyone still has the shadow of that sharpie price still there

Steamer still needs his nail polish removed but it was amazing to find a BB in the wild. Also got my first perfume puff!

Poor Parasol is the roughest out of everyone with one eye rubbed nearly off and lots of body marks.

More nail polish to be removed.
