Title: We love and appreciate the donkey pose
Post by: Shiverdam on January 16, 2022, 07:52:40 PM
I unironically LOVE the donkey pose. It's so dorky and cute. Might be partially attributed to the fact that g3 Minty was one of my first ponies.

So I made donkey pose advocacy art.

Why is it called a "donkey" pose?

Why is it called a "donkey" pose?

I assume because it looks a bit like a donkey braying.

I totally agree. It may not be the most graceful, but it has so much personality :P

I love the pose too!!! It's cute & endearing, like the Pony is excited (which is probably why Minty G3 is in it; she's so excitable)!!!

And your art is great xxx

It's great for customs as is the broken neck pose.

I love your depiction of it :D

I think being expressive is just as, if not MORE important than being pretty. The Donkey Pose makes the pony look conversational, in my book. Love it.

Also it works really well in photo-based comics. I see you, Minty.

I love your picture of it!
I secretly call it the “hungry fish” pose, since my goldfish tip upwards and start moving their little lips whenever you give them food.

I will admit, your art has made the pose grow on me a lot more!

I have a donkey pose Sunny Daze that I've got for Christmas back in 2004, I love a lot but she needs a reroot since her orange hair is literally falling off once you touch it :(
This pose will always remind me of her

YES thank you everyone for your comments! I am glad to recruit more people into the Donkey Pose Lover's Society. I kind of began a donkey pose army just incidentally a few years ago and now I find myself really loving the pose. I must have them ALL.

When I was a kid I had Tink-a-Tink-a-too and Razzaro in the donkey pose, that was the first time I had encountered a repeat pose. I remembered being slightly confused and kinda annoyed  ^^; I still loved them both dearly though when I had them and can appreciate the donkey pose nowadays! I have flutterbutter. There are so many other good designs with the donkey pose too.
