kitty in basket accessory - is this from MLP?

Years ago, I stumbled upon this cute kitty in a basket on eBay. It was an auction for a bigger G1 collection, the kitty is one of the items that was apparently part of that lot:

I've searched for ages for this supposed MLP accessory (I checked all the accessories/playsets on My Little Wiki), but can't find it anywhere. Does anybody recognise it by any chance? I'm not even sure if it is an MLP accessory, but as the rest of the lot seems to be G1 stuff, I was assuming that this cute kitty was part of a playset or so. Can anybody enlighten me?

Can you post a more clear pic? I want to say SSC but it's hard to tell and I think her cat was orange. It looks Hasbro-y not Mattel-y to me. I'm certain it isn't MLP. Does it have any markings? It looks to be 80s or 90s and not 00s from what I can see.

Thanks for all the replies so far! Unfortunately I haven't got another photo, as it's from an old auction. The kitty looks like it could be removed from the basket (narrow gap between kitty and blanket). It doesn't seem to have any markings.

If someone had a clue as to what the manufacturer might be, or which franchise it might belong to, that would be great. I might actually be more successful in trying to google for it. "Kitty/cat in basket" hasn't yielded any results yet and I'm really determined to find it.

the facebook groups' hunch is Loving Family line but haven't found an image to confirm that yet. Just searching Mattel cat or Hasbro Cat or Fisher Price cat so far it looks very fisher price esk

I think they moved all ID'ing to their FB page, the forum looks awful but there is a likely chance that someone on the FB knows where this kitty comes from. I don't think it's MLP, maybe some other Hasbro brand though... like maybe Littlest Petshop?

I checked a site with Kenner LPS and didn't find it on there but the face looks spot-on.
