Wow I had no idea Palau made other animals like that..! I wish it was possible to see better what they look like. They don't look identical to the Takara animals to me, but definitely the same type.

Do we know if the Takara animals (other than ponies) were actually produced? Has anyone ever found one?

The Takara baby fakies from Palau (the ponies), how do they compare to the real thing? Are they the type that is in the same mold, or are they the type that has slightly "droopy" noses?

My post disappeared. I think it's at least possible the elephants might be the same. To hard to tell from that pic to tell if any others... Obviously there is a rabbit and cat (HK rip off) which aren't the same. I wonder about the cow...

Takara animal friends have not surfaced. But keep in mind, only 7 (?) kawaii ponies have surfaced.

I've made a post about comparing real takaras to fakes. 
I'm in my phone, I can't link it. You can probably find it with a Google search. It also has a link to my flikr which has comparisons

I think they are the closest ones to the real ones. But it's not 100% copied (the neck joint is different). Also kind of droopy? Also the quality of the routing and paint job is not up to par.


The Takara buggy hadn't surfaced, as far as I know... But the Palau one has. So dunno much about that

The little cow looks very familiar. I had a glow in the dark cow when I was small, which looked very similar.

That makes me wonder how many people might pass on by one of these little friend guys, or even a fakie one-- just because they look like little kitschy toys. *_* I know what they are, but I don't think they were released in any type of version in the US...

Every now and then I try to find one on japanese sites. But I have no good keywords it's pretty hard to find one.

Sorry! I was so excited I just posted the photos with not much explanation. Unfortunately she is not mine. I was looking for some more information about spanish fakie takaras and the old sales post showed up. She was sold for 5€ in November 2012

There used to be a general store in saugatuck (a destination town near my home) that used to sell these! They had the ponies, and some other animaks, and drink n wet babies all in the same carrying case! I thought it was just a memory, but now I know it was real! I remember the cows and elephants. So I can confirm that they were sold here in the usa it might have been a fluke, it was an odd store with lots of weirdo toys. I remember they used to have a huuuuge hello kitty section
