Unfortunately not, that's the actual format of it. Had it been drawn on a transparent background, there wouldn't be any surround! x

It's a JPG format, which doesn't support transparency. The closest you can do with a JPG is just make that white the same colour as the background it'll be on (ie in this case the grey of the post background). Otherwise you would have to convert it to a GIF or PNG.

It looks to me that it's 107k You could try saving it in a lower resolution to reduce the weight.
