ehhh, Kirin are not and will never be equine to me. I know they have various incarnations and at least in Japanese the word gets used for both unicorn and giraffe as well as proper kirin...
In Japan kirin are more deer like than equine. And from what I can see of China, they are anotger amalgamation of species.
So definitely not kirin for me.
As for the rest...flutters, wingers, sea and merponies are all fine by me. Zebras are a related species one step more distant than unicorn/earth/peg are from each other. I don't know enough about the other g4 species to comment but my understanding of the Changelings is that they are shape shifters..?
Ehhh, I agree somewhat, but I think the MLP FiM kirin look more pony than deer; visitors can't see pics , please register or loginAnd for me, it's a hard line to draw; the saddle Arabians greatly resemble g2 in body size and proportions. So it's a tough call.

Hey there, since the advent of G4, something I have been wondering about for pony collectors and fans is; how do you regard Pony friends, who are very close to the line of being ponies? Creatures like the zebras, kirin, Changelings, saddle Arabians, etc.? I know they aren't technically ponies, but would they count for most people being under the pony banner, given that sea ponies are extended that courtesy. Such as, if they were released as brushables, would they fall under the banner of ponies for most collectors, or pony pals?
Just something I was curious about...

Personally, I think Tirek may have been tied to the Moochick, perhaps his apprentice. the Moochick had the rainbow of Light, I believe Tirek might have used his magic to create the rainbow of darkness as an inferior copy.

I would love to see a new traditionally animated pony cartoon, preferably a G1 reboot. But that's just wishful thinking.

G4 fans try to make themselves feel superior, by putting down generations from before what they like. Even bronies who respect G1 can be condescending.

Loved this episode! Kirin have long been around as a fan concept, it's amazing to see them as canon now. the episode plot was very good too, about how you can talk to people, get hurt or offended, but you should still communicate with people. Awesome episode!
Lol, now Ihave to work the Kirin into Dram Valley in my writing! ^^

I think the new designs are all right, but we need something different than G4, with the coming Spoiler 5th generation reboot
As to the end of G4; I'm sorry, but this had to happen. This should have happened after Twilight became an alicorn, and every season since has only gotten staler. .

Ugh, I've been wanting this for years. Nobody on a g4 site wants to read a fanfic that focuses on any other generation. I wish we had an ACTIVE site for G1 fanfic.

I wish Hasbro had used the G1 characters Lauren Faust wanted to use- Twilight, Firefly, Glory, Surprise, and Posey- instead of falsely claiming they 'didn't have the copyrights' so they could keep their g3 trademarks.
I wish Hasbro had forced Lauren Faust to actually watch the G1 cartoon again, so she'd realize it had it's own mythology, and wasn't just 'tea parties' like in her hazy recollections of the show from from childhood.
I wish Ponyland had been used instead of Equestria, Dream Valley instead of Ponyville, and Majesty instead of Celestia. Transformers didn't scrap it's whole mythology with it's reboots, so why did Pony throw away everything but the core concept, and a few names?
I wish G4 had not thrown the baby out with the bathwater.
