SMF Trader System - Detailed Feedback
Detailed Comment My daughter and me purchased ponies from Vikki Kinsman that she currently has listed on Craigslist Seattle (she has a link to this listing on My Little Pony Extras for Sale Facebook Group and My Little Pony Arena). The photos in the listing featured ponies neatly organized in a glass shelving unit and playsets in their original boxes (except for the Paradise Estate which was loose). The ponies in the photos looked pristine and the listing described them as in “like new condition”. We called Vikki and she agreed to sell us the G1 ponies and the playsets in the photos for $450. We were to meet her near Tahuya over the weekend, weather permitting. This Sunday, we arranged to meet in a coffee shop close to Seattle. She texted about 5 minutes before the meet up time that she was in a supermarket parking lot close to the coffee shop. We met her and her husband, Mark, there and exchanged the money for the playsets and ponies. We had a brief conversation and we asked whether any of the ponies had hair cuts. Vikki said they did not have haircuts, but some of the baby ponies were a bit “dusty” and could use some cleaning. I asked her why the boxes smelled moldy and whether the ponies had been properly stored. She insisted that the ponies had been properly stored and that it was just the boxes that smelled. Because the parking lot was icy, busy and cold, we hurried and did not properly inspect the boxes. But we did ask where the MOC pony that was in the listing photos was. Vikki claimed that the MOC pony was a G3 and we had only asked for the G1s so it was not in the boxes. The listing photos clearly show a G1 MOC pony. She knocked $25 off the price, and also said that “unfortunately”, the ponies that were in the photos were on the bottom of the boxes. We feel really stupid now of course, but Vikki and Mark seemed really nice, Vikki has a high rating (97% positive with almost 100 reviews) on My Little Pony Arena, and we therefore trusted her. However, when we got home and opened up the boxes, all the ponies and playsets were filthy and baity. And we did not receive the Paradise Estates play set. Over 50% of the ponies had hair cuts. The other defects were mold, missing tails, mismatching heads and bodies, rattle in the body, black and brown sticky substance in hair and on body, scratched off symbols, nicks, possible nicotine stains, flocking almost completely removed, rust, bite marks, cuts along the neck, custom rehairing, etc. We were devastated when we realized that we had paid $425 for a bunch of bait ponies and 3 heavily damaged and incomplete playsets. Nothing was in the “like new condition” as advertised or in the condition pictured in the listing photos. We immediately called Vikki about the fact that we did not receive any of the ponies that were in the photos, and to complain about the condition of the ponies and playsets. Vikki initially sounded as though she was open to taking them back, but expressed a desire to wait until the weekend because of the weather. We followed up with texts to try to pin a meeting time down. Vikki responded that “if the snow clears we shall see” and that “I will have to talk to my husband and get back to you”. Vikki stopped responding to texts until today. We offered to return the ponies and playsets and let Vikki keep $100 of the money. But Vikki refused and blamed, mocked and accused us. Saying that “at this point since its beginning to sound like buyers remorse, sell them yourself to recoup the money spent or be happy with what was received...what was in the pics is mostly what she got. Other than ONE INCOMPLETE playset, and generations she did not specify...If there were specific ones she wanted, she should have said something...As for the mold and haircuts, haircuts maybe but not many. Mold, not a chance. I would not do that unless I didnt notice it myself...It sounds like someone isnt happy about not having perfect 25+ year old items. These have changed MANY hands before you and if I didn’t need to pay bills they wouldn’t have gone ANYWHERE. I AM DONE WITH THIS. ITEMS WERE SOLD AS IS NO WARRANTIES EXPRESSED or IMPLIED!” We texted her some photos of the moldy ponies. She again declared herself “done” with us. While we really hope Vikki takes the ponies and playsets back and returns the money, Vikki’s texts are not encouraging. It sounds as though we are out $425. No pony or other purchases for a long while. We are understanding about needing to pay bills. We all have bills to pay, but what happened to us is wrong.
