Hello everyone,
I recently got into dollymix ponies.
All I really know is that they were blindbags made in 2010, I don’t have any yet.
So, lets discuss.
Why g1 in 2010? Why the g3 molds?
Any rare\popular characters? How much are they worth?
I like the pegasi and the fact that less popular characters like mainsail ,powder, tic tac toe to name a few.
What are your thoughts? Do you like\have them? Not your taste?
Feel free to share :)
Cheers,
Luke

I have a few of the G1 variety but misplaced them. I had Powder, Cherries Jubilee, and Sundance. I recently ordered two of the G3 ones (SB and RD).
I tend to see them at $5 each so I'm assuming that's the going rate in the States. I really prefer the G3 characters! I think they have sweeter colors and some G1, like TTT, have an unfortunate mane blend.

I see what you mean. I looked up the g3s and they do look cute. It would be more pricey (and tedious) to get 4 different mane colours on such tiny ponies. Wonder if they could be customized.

I want these so bad. They're so cute! I'd love to have Medley, Snuzzle, Gusty, Lemondrop, Powder, Bluebelle and Mainsail.
-
I love them, I want more

I have one and I want more.

I'm planning to get Tic-Tac-Toe at some point just because she's a fave pony of mine. And I do think they are cute even if the quality is a bit iffy. I want to see what she looks like in-hand before thinking about getting more.

I have some and I want more. I think they are adorable. Some of the g1 poses don’t stay upright well, but I love all of the miniature ponies, like mummy charms and petite ponies.
-
i went nuts on them a few years ago and have all but 2 of the g1's, i do like them but i find them hard to display as there hair sticks out like wire.
im a sucker for tiny brushables though :)

The hardest one for me to get in my experience was G1 Glory. I hear there are two versions but wanted the one wi a horn.
When I got hold of her i completed my Dollymix collection. I think it's a shame they only stuck wi the Core 7 G3s. I'd have loved Sparky, Sunny, G3 Minty & more done as Dollymix Ponies.
Only thing I didn't like was the sweets. I'm not a big sweets person (except chocolate) so had to give away the sweets wi the four I got new

I love the Dollymix ponies! They're so cute, I wish they'd make more. G4 Dollymixes would've been adorable.
They had G3 molds because they made a G3 set, then a G1 set, and they used the same molds for both ;) I dunno why they made a G1 set though, I've always wondered that... especially since they made soooo many G1s! It was a pretty big set for a blind bag, especially since this was before blind bags had really 'taken off'.
I had difficulty finding horned Glory, too. Hornless Glory, no problem, horned... think she was the last one I got.
Normally I love Dolly Mixtures, but the ones that came with these tasted kind of weird >_> I dunno what was wrong with them.

I don't know if I have a complete set of the G1. I know I got one of them from LadyG at ponycon...but all the others I think I had from when they were out in stores. I don't even like dollymix (xD) so a lot of sweets got donated to other people.
I have a feeling I might not have Amethyst. Sundance is currently sitting on my unit. I'm not sure why...
I never saw the G3 ones in stores, so never had any until a few months ago when I got them in a lot right before Christmas. I have three, I think. I know one is Dash but I can't remember on the others.
I assume the UK had both G3 and G1 releases of these? I guess the G3 ones didn't really get to my area...
I also saw...there are some mugs and things around that use the dollymix art. I don't know if these were just made for our local market, though, or if they were a bigger thing. The market is currently closed and I haven't been in more than a year anyway, so I don't have a picture. I just recognised the artwork.

I have G1 Minty. I love her and want more. Would love to have firefly.

They can be customized. The tails are a bit tricky to remove.. I will try to get some photos up of some that me and wysteria have made,

I only own Shady's Dollymix, I'd love to own more someday, they're cute. And it's neat seeing some G1 ponies made into tiny G3 style molds.

We definitely had the G3s but I don't think they hung around very long.. I only remember seeing them in Asda once, but also I was only casually collecting at that point so it's possible I just missed them.

Thanks for all your replies. Seems like I (re)sparked love for these cuties.
Does anybody know where to buy them? And why was there a hornless glory?
till great to see that they were well received in the community.
-
I keep an eye out for sellers in various Pony spaces.
That's interesting that the G3 set didn't seem to stick around long! I would've expected it's the other way around.
I would love to see photos of the customs, Clipper!

I have most of the collection for sale (usually) on my website. But I'm transitioning into a new store and also getting ready to move so I won't have any available until April. https://www.clipperssail.com/
There was probably hornless glory's because the factory probably goofed up and rooted glorys hair on sundances head. They are easy to switch. I've made customs and swapped Gusty's/Sundances head and made a standing unicorn and sitting earth pony. :)

I remember someone got me mainsail and I have bluebelle both dollymix ponies. I think they are cute. :)

I have Shady for sale.

I don’t think there are any that are ‘rare’ as such but some are definitely more sought after.

I love the Dollymix ponies. They're so cute. I might be in the minority but I loved that Tic Tac Toe had her red and green mixed together. And the ones in the sitting poses are so sweet.
I have a few left for sale on my instagram page right now, tropical_sunset_pony :)
