Am I the only one who totally loves the Surprise Twins Mommy? xD

Maybe its because I was already an adult who'd had a kid (via planned C-section) before I got into MLP so I just thought she was hilarious/awesome the first time I saw her. She's high on my want list and I demand her at my bedside the next time I'm sliced open to remove a child, hahaha.

i think shes super cute!! i have a soft spot for pregnant animals i guess?? i just feel so happy for them, surprise twins mommy included!

Off topic, but I had surgery last spring that I'm told is very similar to a C section.  It left me with a 6 inch scar across my pelvis and I was miserable for awhile afterwards.  Now if we have kids I'll have to have a C section and the idea of being cut open again terrifies me.  I'm actually putting off having babies partially because of this, even though my fertility specialist recommended I not wait too long.  Maybe having a pony in a similar situation would make me feel better about it, lol.  (Actually no, the giant hole in her stomach is not helping.)

Reading the backcard, I was thinking the same thing. Now I wonder if Hasbro ever planned to release a Daddy Pony to go with the Mummy Pony, maybe handing round cigarres and champagne to wet the babies' heads?

I don't mind them at all. I had a puppy surprise growing up.

And to get things back on topic.  I like pretty much like everything G1 MLP, but have you guys seen the furbob prototypes?  I'm glad they weren't made.  I didn't like them in the show and I don't think I'd like the toys.

For me, Soda Sippin ponies are quite high up there. Then also baby ponies being born with unicorns. Just not good imo. There are quite a few gimmicks that I don't collect but I dont mind any of them. It's nice that they are so imaginative and diverse

That's a good strategy! I know there are tons of horror stories and judgement, but if it helps any mine went really well and I don't regret it at all. The only issues were a crappy hospital and a rude doctor (neither of which I got to pick). Its not always the horror people say it is. I've done the mommy pony association thing too and that's helped me be less nervous about it for the future, haha.


I kind of like furbobs but I think they'd make far better plushies than they would plastic toys. The prototypes are okay but not really my thing. I'm not huge on bushwoolies either but they're still cute.

I have to agree with Paradise Estate. Also because it doesn't fit in Ponyland at ALL. There's nothing magical about it, it's just a big, pompous villa with lame, unponylike accessories. There's Barbie for that.

Other than that, many have already been mentioned. I especially agree with the Teeny Tiny's. They look stupid (they really have pathetic boohoo-faces), and we already have newborns.

If we carry on on that theme, I have to add Wedding Bells Confetti into the ring, simply because when Wedding Bells Confetti came out, there were no boy ponies in the UK and European Ponyland where she was sold except baby Lucky. Not one adult boy pony. And that's awkward when you're a pony bride...

I'm pretty sure same can be said for the original Satin and Lace, but at least in her case Hasbro later provided a groom.

Confetti at least had an in comic persona that wasn't wedding-centric. She also got flirted with by Lightning. Bearing in mind the conservative values of relationships in the 1980s, though, not giving her a groom seems a design flaw...

Actually, I love the Drink n Wets. Like, I don't care about the gimmick, but the ponies in that set are really, really freakin cute!

I love my Baby Rainfeather and get compliments and comments on her whenever I take her picture. One person referred to her as The Peach Yodeling Pony. One friend said it looked like she was singing, another like she was trying to eat another pony's symbol.

And its always amusing to see people's reactions when they find out there gimmick. My boyfriend thinks she is hilarious. Another friend was in disbelief and said and I quote, She...she pees?!

My little DnW girl is comedy gold.

 I would love to have her sister Baby Flicker someday.

I love the Precious Pocket and Secret Surprise Ponies, but the Precious Pockets are kinda hard to find without being broken somehow and the few times I've seen the Secret Surprise ponies on ebay, none of them had their lid. Plus I remember my cousin had one and she couldn't hold very much in her little compartment.

By far the worst MLP concept ever, to me, is Equestria Girls. But its not even the concept that's bad! I love dolls and they make up the bulk of my collections. MLP dolls could have been really cool. But ugh. Hasbro is so incredibly terrible at making dolls. EqG were a total mess from the first photo and it never got better.

Actually the first dolls were much worse than the later dolls (except those awful $5 budgets with the half molded hair). The first dolls had removable feet shoes and no articulation. The Rockin Hairstyle and Friendship Games Sporty Style dolls were amazing but unfortunately the early dolls ruined the brand's reputation along with fashion dolls being on the decline in favor of blind bag collectibles.

Yay I just finally read this thread from start to finish.  I was going to weigh in on G3.5s but I see I did that already a few pages back.  Addictive.

My problem with the pregnant toys is calling them Surprise! as in we know what causes that now....surprise?  really???  not cool.  Didn't know about her, now I have to have her.

Cupcake G4 Twilight...didn't know about her, wish I still didn't.  At least when I see her in person now I will know to run instead of standing there aghast.

The only problem I have with EG dolls is the lack of knee joints...I am interested in two-leggers only for riding ponies and I'll poke through the scads of dolls at the thrift store just to see who has knees that bend and hips that can articulate outwards to sit in a saddle...if anyone notices I think they'll have the wrong idea.  I just found the G1 Megan or Molly, not sure which she is, and she looks like a Thumb Wars character...something is definitely wrong with her face but, she does prove that Hasbro does actually know how to make dolls because she can sit on a pony.

As far as the creepy kissing ponies....the 80s commercials really creeped me out and I was against My Little Pony right up until a little over a year ago when I found FiM.  I thought the little almost-horsey features were odd but the soulless way girls clutched and combed ponies in the commercials really put me off and I was more into tools and computers than toys as a kid anyway (unlike now, all I care about is more pony toys).  I quickly fell in love with those horsey little features and even the cute little bodies on G3.5s and the first G1 I saw was a BBE with rusty eyes....thought she looked like a long-term cigarette smoker.  I like the eyes just fine, but the sockets do mess up the face....I love them none the less.  Try them with better eyelashes, MUCH better yay!

Speaking of eyelashes, how about the Groucho Marx eyelash bride ponies?  Serious caterpillars on those, eeks.

I had an "anatomically correct" boy drink n wet doll as a kid and I remember it was very odd that its parts were superficially like mine but...its urethra was square and its stream was quite wrong.  Which brings me to the descriptions in this thread about using the drink n wet ponies as squirt guns and the Surprise pony for a launcher....so wrong!  I love it.

I love it!  My life would be so empty without LadyMoondancer's comments like this one.  That backcard does sort of read this way though...oh my.

Now to conclude with something 180 degrees off topic, how about something that should be the worst concept but is just so great:  Twirling Twinkle Twirl with the handle sticking out of her head that you push down to make her twirl.  I had a plain top made of pressed sheet metal that worked just like that as a kid....but a ballerina pony?  Why do I love it so much??

I feel as though I subconsciously knew that as a child! So funny to think of it now   I never wanted to own her and then I read on her back card that she's into paper crafts or something and I though fair enough she doesn't have to be about weddings... I wish I could get flirted with by Lightning
