From what I've heard it will come to Android, but I don't know when. It always takes so long to port stuff over. It's not fair! *stamps foot*Well, it's down to the fact that porting from iOS to Android usually means "rewriting the code from ground-up". iOS developers are forced by Apple to use a programming language called Objective-C while Android developers are forced by Google to use a modified version of the Java programming language called Dalvik. They're both very different from each other. So porting from one to another usually means understanding the existing code in one language and writing a piece of code in the other language that does the same thing (or if it's a one person job, it will be quite a challenge). As the net result, a game company will need multiple teams to do handle writing the same game when multiple tablet platforms are concerned. In contrast, most PCs (regardless of Windows, Mac or Linux) and consoles (be it PS3, XBox 360 or Wii) accept multiple programming languages and there are common programming languages that support multiple platforms, so the same code could just be reused (with minor tweaks) to create programs for them.

I have a couple friends so far but only Princess Celestia is showing up in my Social section of the game. Anybody else have this problem?I'm trying to refresh it now that people have accepted my friend requests, but I keep getting an error when I do.
They wouldn't let me have Vampasaurus as a user name. said it had an an offensive word in it. I have no idea what word or where but, oh well.

how do i add people to my firends list?You need to create a GameLoft Live account (or sign in if you already have one), and from there you go to the friends page and add friends from there. Also, I think any existing GLL friends who downloads the game gets added automatically.
I hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question, but:I think they'll both be different, erm, Ponyvilles, although you could probably sign in with the same Gameloft account on both devices. I noticed that these games seem to store the town data in the iDevice itself instead of the cloud.

A lot of times Game Lofts 3 day sales are over the weekend, Friday - Sunday so it may be the Sale from yesterday was a case of someone jumping the gun.
I hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question, but:Re-replying, but I confirmed it- install the game on a second device and you get a separate Ponyville but your friends list remains the same. Also, accepting gifts on one device may or may not deny you off gifts on the other device depending on your luck, so exercise caution.

I've accepted/added lots of people on here on the gameloft live thing but no-one is showing up in my friends on the game. :( Anyone else having this trouble?It's a common problem- takes time for the list to load. Just tap on refresh and wait a few times.

To add friends you need to set up a gameloft ID. You can do that from the Gameloft Live icon. Once that is set up go back into the Gameloft Live icon and click friends and search. Type in the user ID and it will send a friend request. Once the person accepts the request they will show up in your friends list. There really should have been a tutorial on how to do that in the game. I guess Gameloft assumed everyone had played their games before.
Once you have your ID post it here and I will add you to my friend list.

I can't do any more quests! I need 30 more heart gems to buy Scootaloo to do that one, and that's the only one available to me. What is your user ID? I will check and see if you are in my friend list and if so I will try to visit your Ponyville and leave you a heart. My game shows I only have about 60 friends and that should be closer to 200 based on my Gameloft Id so there are definitely some issues with the friend system. I have a feeling the servers are getting overloaded.
Also as far as I can tell you can't buy hearts only gems and bits.

Added everyone (again my game id is sosilver) but can see only a few of the people i've added.Have you checked the inbox? It seems that gifts sent through the present button will end up in the inbox instead. I hope the devs would realize that this is incredibly redundant and confusing, and either remove the inbox and make it so that gifts sent will immediately appear as a chest in the other town, or remove chests altogether. >.<
And i am not receiving gifts either:(
I have noticed also that if you send a gift only pressing on the present button, the friend will not receive it, but you have to actually visit the village.

If anyone is playing over WiFi on their iPhone and is having a hard time getting their friend list to update or load try shutting off your WiFi and switch over to 4G. I was having a lot of problems last night and since I switched over to 4G I haven't had any loading problems. It makes no sense but it seems to work better over 4G.

Gems shouldn't be required on items that are necessary to complete the quests. Only extra ponies that are not required for the game to progress should be purchasable via gems. Even better, be like the map expansion and give the player a choice to either use gems, hearts or bits to buy ponies and buildings in the game. Also, those quests that requires friends on the GLL account should not be given if the person doesn't have any GLL friends since it will eventually clog up the quest list- given you can only have three quests at one given time, it is inevitable.

Does anyone know if it actually takes something out of your collection when you gift stuff/leave treasure chests aside from bits which are not hard to get? Because if it only costs you some in game bits, everyone should just do a bulk gift/treasure drop off every day for no reason other than to help people who may be stuck.

They can be used for clearing parasprites though I don't know if there are any negatives consequences to having them around your town.
The parasprites cause roots to grow up which eventually turn into the same kind of spooky trees that Pinkie Pie laughed at in the series premiere. They basically make it so you can't build anything in that area of the map so you have to clear them out at some point. I got a massive infestation, like 50 of them and cleared them all out except for the ones requiring the element of Magic as those shards are very hard to come by at this point in the game. So I would definitely recommend not throwing all of your extra shards away to get extra bits as you will need them to take care of the parasprites.
On another note I have 5 of the Mane 6 and just found out that Rainbow Dash costs 500 gems! I think that is a little ridiculous for a main character and a part of the game that you have to have to complete the story. I really think the Mane 6 should have just unlocked as you play through the story. Gameloft still would make plenty of money off selling the background ponies. I have about 50 gems so I guess I will be trying to save up the rest and hopefully by the time a 60% off sale comes around I will have enough to buy her!This! Maybe we should all go voice out our concerns at Gameloft's Facebook page or Hasbro's facebook page. I don't understand their logic of making background characters like Bon Bon, Soarin and The Cakes purchasable with only bits while the Mane 6 and CMC costs money. Nor do I understand these characters being pushed into the storyline.

I like the game, but the need to spend real money annoys me to know end. I have Bakery Story and Resturaunt Story on my iPod as well, and it's the same deal. I lost interest in those because of the fact that I didn't want to spend so much real money. It's a bit of a letdown in this game, honestly. I'd rather they charge money to get the app and have everything in the game available with just bits. The need to connect to facebook is annoying as well. I do not have a facebook, and I'm sick of things requiring you to have one to "unlock" certain things.
I also think it's very deceptive how the buying gems/ bits thing works. If a child plays it, I'd think it would be very difficult to distinguish between what costs bits and what costs real money.

I agree about just paying for the App and doing away with all the meta purchases. I would easily drop $15 or $20 to get the full game. I would pay even more than that if it got a console release for the Wii or PS3. I am sure Gameloft realizes that if they made the Mane 6 easy to get without spending money a certain amount of people would be happy with that and never spend money on the background ponies. So I am sure this is their way of making sure that that doesn't happen.Agreed. I'd rather pay $10-$15 for the game upfront and everything else in the game being sandboxed to in-game currency. I wish the game was more balanced, bits take a while to earn and lots of things are ridiculously priced, especially gem ponies. Celestia alone would come out to about 70 dollars. And she's not the only pony who has a gem price tag well into the triple digits. Expansions cost waaay too much, as do a lot of the ponies and the clearing of rocks (It cost 500 for a pebble).It's generally agreed that the game is very unbalanced. The fact that you need to use gems (which very certainly means shelling out real money) for Sweetie Belle, Rarity and Rainbow Dash, the latter two needed to proceed in the quests, is bad enough. Then, as you mentioned, clearing off the rubbish is too expensive. And the fact that the only way to clear out parasprites is to use shards of the elements, which itself has a very unbalanced drop rate (laughter shards are most common, and so far, magic shards are practically nonexistent).
I still can't get any friends even though I have close to 60 on GLL. I don't know. I think I am pretty close to just deleting the game. I am just so frustrated that I cannot advance the story because I have no friends.It's not just you. I have over forty friends on my list in GLL but only 12 or so is showing in the game. I wonder if they will figure out a way to punish those who use a time cheat- like the Smurf Village did...That's my concern too, though as I have Smurfs' Village installed on the same device, I daren't try pushing around with a time cheat on MLP either in case I screw up!
Gameloft is really the suck so far- my game often crashes when I go to another person's town to leave them some treasure and check out their goodies...

So I was trying to save up for the chicken coop, part of a quest an all. While I was doing something my daughter was playing collecting coins and playing with the ponies in the game. She accidently bought some land. I came back and looked at the game and asked what she bought, she had no idea. So I looked around and figured it out and showed her.
So has anyone else noticed the random paths showing up around the game. I know that me and my children have not bought those paths.
According to the gameloft message board their server is down right now. People are suggesting turning wifi off to avoid the game freezing or crashing. I guess this would explain all of the "no internet connection" errors I was getting last night. I hope some of the glitches are worked out when they're back up and running properly.

Have you tried restarting the game more than once? Snails was bits for me when I was in airplane mode.

Yeah, I couldn't get Snails either, for whatever reason. The only ponies I need now are the gem ponies. But I have a feeling I'm never going to get them without spending real money, since time-cheating broke my daily bonus feature. >_<

As for the book quest, make sure the bookshop is producing regular books, not rare books. The game is just that pedantic.
I've found that the parasprites won't spawn in areas that are completely filled with buildings, trees, or decor.All of the garbage won't spawn if the area is covered with building, trees or decor. I think it would be good advice to fill up a purchased area with trees or deco until needed. Unfortunately, purchased trees can't be resold and deco is expensive :/

Aside from Rarity and Rainbow Dash, there's also this ridiculous quest where I have to spend gems on deco :(

On a side note for all you time travelers out there I found something interesting last night. After August 31, 2014 the game no longer gives the daily bonus. I guess Gameloft didn't program the game to recognize any dates later than that. Which sucks because I had intended to go out to 2020 so I could get enough gems to buy Celestia, Cadence and Shining Armor.
Does anyone else have problems staying logged into Gameloft? I keep having to sign in and it never seems to take when I try to load my friend list. The game does NOT have a good fail-safe for deleting items by accident (also happened) or for using gems by accident. They should at least ask "are you sure?" So someone left a comment at EqD that in order to actually fully complete the game you have to purchase both Shining Armor and Cadence AND the Town Hall. The Town Hall is an unskippable quest. Meh. I really hope that things are just racked up in price right now because they want you to play at a normal pace.

I'm still not quite used to the curved back and the (lack of) thickness of the iPad4, and tend to fumble a bit when holding the device with one hand :/ And when I fumble, mistakes tend to happen :/
Agreed. As I said before, one shouldn't need to pay money for, at very least, the mane 6. Unfortunately, the game has quite a number of quests that requires you to waste gem on stuff to proceed :(
Aside from Rarity and Rainbow Dash, there's also this ridiculous quest where I have to spend gems on deco :(
Did anyone catch the sale that was on the first day it was released? Hopefully they will have another where all the ponies, shops and items are super discounted again. I wonder if it was a mistake though since it said "3 day sale" and only lasted a few hours.

... And I think I accidentally hosed my iPad1's installation of the game. I tried to sign out of GameLoft on the iPad4, and now all of the sudden the game on iPad1 wouldn't launch! It shows the Gameloft and Hasbro Gaming logos, and then crashes back to the chooser :/
iPad4 copy of the game is still fine- but it signed back into my Gameloft ID as soon as I restarted it :/
If I ever get the iPad1 copy running again, most likely I'll have it connected to a different GameLoft ID from now on...

When I activated it today, it had Soarin available to buy for about 70,000 bits. Strangely, though, Soarin isn't a balloon pony. He normally costs 450 gems.

I now have to restart on my iPad1 since the game was suddenly crashing after I tried to sign out of my GameLoft Live ID on my iPad4 and both were tied to the same account. And I'm starting to feel a drag on the game with the iPad1. I was up to level 30 on it. Now I've only managed to make it back to Level 12.
I don't have enough shards to get rid of the parasprites unfortunately. And I don't always get coins from them either, which makes it even more disheartening.This too! One plus of getting the game reset I guess. So far, no Parasprites, but then I'm planning to fill up a plot of land before buying more this time around.

I agree. I would also recommend only expanding when you already have enough bits/hearts to fill up the area with buildings or decor.
Similarly, I would recommend that you only remove large rocks if you already have enough funds to put a building there immediately.

I have to say that I was thrilled to at least hear dialogue in the proper voices. It showed a bit of commitment to the fans compared to the ios storybooks that were released recently, that have no "real" voices.Yes, unfortunately there's no skipping of the dialog. It's annoying me out. I don't mind not having a voice at all. But not being able to turn off the dialog audio...
As for the whole "completing the game without spending money" I think you can but it will of course take quite a long while, however you won't have all the ponies and bonus items, just the ones needed to complete the story.And yes, a long while, after you've reached a certain point and things start slowing down to a crawl thanks to the extremely high price in bits/gems it costs to proceed. That's when the game starts feeling like a drag and a chore and the urge to quit kicks in.

Do they only show when you expand land?Well, they may also show if you leave a vacant piece of 2x3 land alone for a few days, depending on your luck. That said tho, you're more likely to find some while expanding land than to have them spawn on vacant ground.

I'm GlamorousRarity! Though the GL Live stuff isn't working for me. It says I don't have any friends so I gave up on anything that involves friends. D':Well, give it time. The game seems to be extremely wonky, My friends list has been disappearing, returning, shuffling around and even existing friends sometimes vanish from the list!
I just bought Trixie with coins, and the other ballon pop ponies cost coins as well! But then once I exited the app they went back to prize ponies :(

Figures... :/Eh, just leave the quest dangling until you have enough hearts. It's only 50 hearts, which at worst takes roughly two weeks with two friends (assuming you're receiving both chests in the town and hearts in the inbox = 4 hearts a day).
I don't like scoots so I did not want to save up for her.. I guess I'll have to skip that quest with diamonds then. Bleh.. :P
How did everypony get their F-List to sync up to the game? Chrissytree is the only one it's linking to and even that's only some of the time (then it copies her town into mine and I have to restart my phone).Yeah, the game is still kinda buggy at this time >.< The timer still moves on mine, but the issue where the game copies the town I visited onto my iPad1/iPad4 and creates a visual mess is there. I just try to live with it tho.
I'm facing a whole plethora of issues with the game. The timers don't tick down if I'm not inside the game (if I go to my phone's home screen the timers stop), but then I'll get notifications that something has happened. I'll open the game up and the timer will be where I left it. Sometimes it'll lock into zoom mode and I'll have to restart my phone. Friends are not syncing up in the game. Gameloft says I have 30 friends, but it never finds them when I go to Social in MLP.
Also, what's with the ponies in the store that you can't buy?
I am so upset. My app stopped working ;( It shows the Gameloft screen then Hasbro. Then it just crashes. It's been doing this for a couple days now and I've tried restarting my iPad and everything. Looks like all my work was for nothing :(Ow, man. I feel your pain. That happened on my iPad1 a few days ago. Deleting the app and re-downloading it solves the issue, but of course you lose everything you've worked towards at this point :(

I'm having problems visiting/gifting neighbors. I have several friends but when I "search for everypony" only Celestia and one other come up. Why is this? Do the others have to be online?

Thanks for the heads up! I will.. I just did not know until now that you actually get hearts as gifts! I thought you'd get one for each new friends and that would be it! xDWell, there's two ways to get hearts in-game: the chests that people drop in the town, and the inbox. The inbox hearts are sent by the gift button, while the chest requires you to visit a town to drop it off. On the downside, it creates two different ways of getting hearts to other players and thus confusion. On the plus side, you're entitled to two hearts from each player each day :P
Ugh.. It can.. Crash? Drat. I hope it won't happen with mine.. I don't know if I'd really want to start the game all over again. :CTo play it on two iOS devices (i.e. an iPad and iPhone/iPod or two iPads), most of us settle with having two GameLoft Live accounts and letting them run separately :/ But yeah, the lack of a cloud based backup is a drag especially with an extremely unstable and bug-laden game like this one.
And yeah.. They should really backup your town online and not on the device.. This way I cannot play it on both iPad and iPhone, too.. Let alone that you have no way to gain it back after a crash. :(
I used to play a lot of WeRule a while ago and they had a feature like that.. So I guess it's not THAT time/money consuming to set it up, given that it was just a small iPhone game, with no big franchise behind, that could afford such a thing! :|

1. Tap the home button to get back to the launcher screen on your iPad
2. use the 4-finger swipe up gesture or press the home button twice in quick succession to get the task list (a row of icons of recent apps ran at the bottom of the screen).
3. Tap and hold down on the MyLittlePony icon for 5 seconds.
4. Tap on the tiny [X] that appears when the icon is shivering.
5. Press the home button again or tap outside of the task list
6. Restart the app.
This tend to fix the game for me when it starts giving me the error. It basically forces a restart on the app, which is apparently when the app will try to download new data.
So I'm now on the three chests quest on both my RAMChYLD and moogle82 accounts....
The game is getting ridiculous with its gem-demanding quests. It wants me to spend a grand total of 97 gems buying freakin' decorations. :whoa:
But I got my own back earlier. The game wanted me to get 10 gems for Spike and skipping the quest cost 4 gems! Hmm, difficult choice to make there. :lol:
In terms of obtaining the premium currency this game is a joke. I play free-to-play games by other companies and they're a lot more balanced. Either they don't require the premium currency to advance or they give you the premium currency in-game for completing small quests so it doesn't take you long to save up.
What makes me sad though is that I am an adult and I know that I shouldn't really be spending money on virtual gems that serve little purpose. However this is a game targeted at an audience of young girls and they're probably going to want to spend money so they can get everything. The fact that the game is unbalanced on top of this makes me twitch a bit. :shocked:
A few quests after you've finished that one, Spike will hand you a NEW quest which involves picking up FIVE chests among several other things (collecting hearts & visiting friends,...) ^^;I just managed to finally clear that quest on my iPad4, and yeah, just a few quests later I now need to find 5 chests, get 10 hearts and visit 2 towns. On my iPad1, well, still need one more chest. I've added my iPad4 account to my iPad1, but it isn't showing >.<

Also.. I just figured out the 'deletable objects' reappear randomly on empty ground!! NUUUUUUH!!! I paid so much to get rid of them and now they're back like that? PLUS parasprites I can only get rid off using Twi's element. Great.. while I have like 50+ of each of the other elements, I only have like 2 of hers. !!!!!!!!! :< xDYeah, another one of my major annoyances with the game. This is why you see piles of hay everywhere in my towns- they're meant to prevent the game from spawning anything unwanted.

And you know what is really annoying, I keep accidentally spending gems to speed things up. I'll be shaking things to get coins out, and then it will bring up a message with speed up or expand and because I'm clicking so fast I select the gem thing. I only have 2 gems left because of it.
Bleh.. Just now I lost two gems as well b/c I was clicking stuff too fast. :CWell, I think the game gives you three gems every week is it's daily reward (one gem on day 4 and two on day 5). And you do receive gems for certain quests and hitting certain levels. So it may be plausible, but it takes months >.<
It's the two :muffin: Pony gave me for uncovering her repeatedly, so I guess I won't fall too far behind because of it. Still annoying.

This happened to me too x-x I am waiting for an update in hopes that might make my game playable again before I just uninstall it D; We'll just have to see :< I am sooo sorry that happened to you! I have never played a game as buggy as this before D;Well, when it happened to me, I did think twice about it, and then ultimately decided that I might as well just make the best of it and use the restart to avoid all the mistakes I've made. Still, quite a loss tho.
I just got that glitch too. :) It's pretty nice!Well, if you think about it, the gem-related items add up to almost a hundred gems. Skipping them only adds up to 10 (the vase, thankfully, only costs bits).
I'm wondering if they're ever going to make gems a "gift" item like hearts are now. On the "connect to Facebook" screen, it says to share with friends and collect gems. I sure hope so - I don't want to pay real money for the game, and I'm trying to save up for Rarity. One of the quests I'm on wants me to buy a whole bunch of gem-only items, or pay 5 gems each to skip. I only have 11, I'm not burning them on a quest!
There's a sale on gems right now, so I guess they're taking the complaints into consideration. The only difference I see though is on the 700 pack. It's $24.99 now. Not sure if I want to go for it or hold out for an update and hope for the best.

That is exactly what Gameloft is doing. Their prices even with their "sale" are ridiculous and they flat out lied when they said that the game could be finished without paying real money. Rarity costs 90 gems, Rainbow Dash costs 500 gems, the clock tower costs 340 gems and Town Hall costs 600 gems. All of those are required to beat Nightmare Moon. And then to actually "beat" the game you have to buy Shining Armor and Cadence at 640 gems a piece and complete a couple more quests. The total for all of them is 2770 gems. And that isn't counting the regular quests that have you purchasing items with gems or the gems wasted by having a system that if you click in the wrong spot you buy something that you didn't really want to. My guess is that their sales for the game have been no where near what they were expecting which has prompted their "sale" on gems.Well, maybe they introduce those via periodical updates like Oregon Trail American Settler. But yeah, the gem requirements are insane -.- If you try to finish this without time traveling, you could be stuck on quests for a good few years >.< definitely that won't keep my attention span on the game, the moment it feels dragged out, I may end up dumping it, just like I dumped Oregon Trail American Settler (those illness that the townsfolks get and the difficulty in curing them eventually put me off).
I finished the game without spending a cent through a combination of glitches and a whole lot of time traveling over the last two weeks. And while it is cool having all of the ponies running around there is absolutely nothing else to the game. No changing seasons, no holidays, no special guests or anything. These types of things should be pretty much a given in these types of games if you want people to keep playing. But no I think Gameloft was banking on people going crazy over ponies and opening their wallets to buy them all.

While I do totally agree with your point, it's the price point they've set on everything that pisses me off. I'm more than willing to spend some cash on this game, but not the several hundred dollars it would cost to actually complete it. Their exchange rate is ludracris.

Gameloft has announced on their facebook page that they plan to drop Rainbow Dash's price down to 90 gems. Still pricey, but a lot cheaper!
I haven't noticed this change ingame though. Maybe it'll be added in an update?

Don't get me wrong, I love games, I buy a lot of them.. Triple A and Indie alike.. and as a freelance designer I even work in that industry every once in a while.You know what? I agree. Right now, spending 10 US dollars on a game and playing it indefinitely sounds a lot better. I mean, in-game purchases is the equivalent of the DLC, sure. But unlike a DLC you lose everything if the game crashes to the point where you need to reinstall (which seems to be happening to random iPad1 users) or you want to restart for whatever reasons >.<
But I'd rather spend 5, 10, 15 bucks on a quality game upfront instead of burrying my money like this. Hence I said I would not spend on anything that is a FarmVille-clone. xD
BTW, somewhat unrelated but every single time I try to access the store to buy gems/bits, I get a "No Internet connection" error message, even though I am connected to the internet and Social works just fine. Any ideas?

I heard you can get Snails from the heart balloon mini game. Anybody knows if this is true? I only get decorations... so many water towers in my town lol.
There's also an awesome bug I found with the treasure chests. If you get like 20 of them in a day and your friend list isn't loading properly, open up your friend list again and close it and it'll drop 19 chests, then 18, and so on until it reaches 1. Sometimes it does it with heart gifts too. I got OVER 300 HEARTS IN ONE DAY FROM THIS ONCE. Unless Sapphire Shores is a heart pony (haven't gotten that high level yet), I have all the heart ponies and enough to play the heart balloon game several times a day.

The above steps has practically become my standard procedure in troubleshooting. If I can't connect to a friend's town, GLL, or the shop, or I get any strange errors, I'd first try to restart the app :P

Has anyone figured out for certain if particular colors of parasprites correspond to particular shards?If you do not have enough shards of a particular type, the game will display a chart of what color parasprites correspond to which element shards. It's on the page where you buy gems with real money. There's a green box on the left that says "Get Free Gems!" Tap on it and it brings up a list of apps you can download, what you have to do with the app to earn the gems and how many gems you get for that app. Example: Sign up for Zoosk! and you get 14 gems. (That one is NOT going to happen!!!)

The game is irritating me a little. I am getting over run with sprites cause are the two types that I can't seem to get from stuff. :P. (twilight and Fluttershy to be exact)
Speaking of parasprites... I'm actually trying to lure them for a quest :PA little experiment I tried shows that parasprites are spawned as an object with a grid size of 2x2 squares. However, to ensure that they spawn, a larger space is recommended. Currently in my Ponyvilles, I have a "honeypot" grid of 4x4 for the intention of spawning clearables ( due to the darn remove 8 clearables quest)
I need to ward off a couple swarms of them, but they won't spawn due to all the dirt roads in my town, and it would be really expensive to expand to find them (and even if I did expand, they might not show up).
So I was thinking I could probably clear out a few squares of dirt road on the far side of my town to lure them... but how many squares should I clear? If I clear too many, I run the risk of a big rock spawning, but if I clear too little, the sprites might not show up at all.
To give you a sense of how many squares I could clear, I've got enough squares in the area to fit 3 or 4 buildings in (I use it as a transfer area when moving buildings around)

Yeah, if someone could figure out how to get the daily bonus back I might start having fun with this game again. As it is, if there's no way for me to earn gems then I'm just kind of ....blah with it right now. I'm still sending everyone gifts and racking up coins but that's about all I can do right now. Wow...I ll admit the Zoosk thing was weird but getting gems as a reward for betting...yikes! I am going to hope that the expected age range on this game is over 16 then rather than younger.The app is apparently pulling in ads based on the player's region. I'm not getting ads for gambling sites (understandable, since online gambling is apparently illegal over here), but it's flooding me with ads for Tapjoy >.<
I dont know enough about GL to judge whether they perhaps offer such rewards across all games...i.e. is it really a game specific thing or just that no matter the game you are playing, William Hill have bought the right to offer promotional benefits.

I tapped the "Get Free Gems" button out of curiousity and one of the offers was "Deposit £10 at William Hill and play some games"- the reward was 178 gems! That's a betting site openly advertising on a game for children!
What's even worse is that further down there is another advert for a betting site encouraging you to gamble. The reward for that one is 3 gems.

If so just go into your settings, General, Date and Time and unclick set automatically. Then go in and change the date to the next day and launch the game. The game will give you the daily bonus. After you collect that close the game go back into settings and change the date to the next day and just keep doing that over and over until you have enough gems to buy what you want. It is time consuming but you can a large number of gems in a short amount of time. I was able to get 1000 gems in a couple of hours. I do recommend plugging your device into a power outlet while doing this as opening and closing the game uses a lot of battery.

If you are using an android device it probably also works but I cannot verify it as I only have an iPhone and iPad.

Also if you are going to time travel you may want to do it soon as Gameloft is working on a patch and I would be very suprised if the time travel and airplane mode cheats are not removed or altered in that patch.
I've found I have to scroll right forward in time to the point I left off. So one day I finished on the 6th of June and the next time I had to start on the 7th to get the daily bonuses to restart. However the daily bonuses weren't working when I was getting money and it started up again when I went back to normal time! So there isn't always a pattern in getting the bonuses.
Also good to note that is you use messenger and use time travel mine signs me out so when I've finished I have to sign back in and any messages you receive while being forward in time won't arrive or let you send any (I've only got an ipad but I guess if it's in sync with an iphone it should send to that instead.)
Well, it was fun while it lasted. I have no desire to mess with time traveling, but I have 25 gems, and have to buy sweetie belle.. That's happening NO time soon. So looks like I am done with the game :) Hope you guys enjoy playing it. Maybe if they ever make gems easier to get in game, Ill pick it up again.+1. It took a LONG time! I am guessing I put in around 30 hours over the course of a week and a half to get enough gems to buy all the gem ponies and shops. I got really fast at changing the date, launching the game, collecting the bonus, and closing the game. I also took advantage of the couple of sales that popped up along the way. And I used the airplane mode cheat to use bits to buy the balloon pop ponies. Speaking of bits I had millions of bits from collecting the daily bonuses. There was more than enough to buy all the ponies, shops and all the land expansions from time traveling.

If your daily bonus is not working and you remember what month and year you were in change your device to the 1st in that month. Launch the game and then close it. Keeping doing this until the daily bonus comes back. It should usually be the 29th, 30th or 31st of the month.
If you don't remember the month that you were in then just play the game at normal time for 5 days and the daily bonus should come back. And then you can go back to time traveling again.
I hope these tips help. I am not playing the game too much right now since I have everything unlocked but if anypony has any question post them up here and I will try to answer them.

The sign-up window sometimes won't tell you when you've picked an available username (I tried 2 available usernames, only to be told upon entering the second that the first was accepted)
Also, whenever they deny you a username, the terms and conditions box becomes unchecked. Be sure to recheck it whenever this happens.
It also may be possible that their servers are down or too laggy. You might have a better connection if you try to do this at a time when people aren't usually on (such as late at night, early in the morning, or in the middle of the day on weekdays).

Seriously? Rocks respawn? That's shady.
That is interesting about the daily bonuses not coming back. I have tested it twice on my iPhone and after 5 days the daily bonus came back after time traveling. There must be another piece to it. I will look into it a little further and will post if I come up with anything else.
I have spent an insane amount of time on this game. I need Rainbow Dash to defeat Nightmare Moon. I've been able to activate all the elements of harmony, but I can't finish the game without RD.

Which ponies are balloon prize? Snails still shows up as balloon prize for me. The rest of the ponies show up as either hearts or gems or bits but there are not many more bits ponies that I see - most are hearts or gems. Besides the ones I haven't leveled up to be able to purchase yet.

You could always just place dirt roads on top of squares to "reserve" them and prevent obstacles from spawning on them.
What I usually do with obstacles is start clearing them early in the day, and as soon as the obstacle is gone, place dirt roads all over the spot where it was.
I still have to deal with a few obstacles, but nothing larger than 1 square (since I've left a 1-square rim around the dirt roads that were originally present).
How do I add friends? I just downloaded this a week or so ago. :lookround: When I go to Social and "Invite," it gives me the option of inviting FB friends, but not GameLoft.

BAH! im at a point in the game where i need to find chests, BUT my firends list wont show up, so i can only assume they cant see me either.... so no chests and i havent gotten a new mission in days because i dont have chests. When the game was new- I guiltily admit that I spent some $$ and spent it all on balloon pop. (That was before the discovery that most of the ponies could be purchased if you turn on airplane mode). On the upside of playing that cursed game, the chance of getting good stuff through it is pretty good (got a lot of statutes, ice sculptures and the ponies very fast- lots of grain silos too which was less exciting...)i think they just fixed it !:)
The problem with this game is that it got so boring so fast. There are no seasonal updates, no new decorations, nothing particularly awesome to buy with "bits". And it is sad that so many of the ponies and objects cost $50 or more to buy-
Also- if you were tempted by the "Get free gems!" offer- I would say don't do it. I tried one of them in my desperation to get Cadence, went through the song and dance of signing up for something I don't want - waiting a few days and cancelling- and NEVER got the promised gems. Gameloft said they were looking into it last I heard- that was last week. :(
My biggest problem with this game is the in-game friends feature- the game requires friends and trading - but the feature doesn't work. I have 150+ friends, but 98% of them don't show up in my in-game list. I haven't seen a new friend added since November. Gameloft (I thought) had promised a patch to fix this glitch, but I haven't seen any. If they would fix the friends feature, we would all, at the very least, have all of the ponies that can be bought with hearts.
I'm still not seeing the updates. I have my game set to update automaticly. One person was added to my friend list, but that's the only change I see. :(

I got about 60+ gems since the update thanks to ads, daily bonus, heart balloon pop, Drama Pony, and parasprites. And this is WITHOUT time traveling.
Hmm, well the button should be on the Buy Gems page. If it's not there then there aren't any ads to be watched for that day. It'll usually come back in a day or two. Sometimes I can get up to 10 gems in a day from ads.
I also noticed that every time you level you get 1 gem and every 10 levels you get 2 gems. Supposedly you can get gems from element shards but I've yet to get one. I also recommend setting aside a few empty land tiles for parasprites to pile up since they occasionally give a gem after clearing a cluster. It's so easy to get gems now!
I've never gotten a single option to watch ads on the iPad. Do they not come up on that?

She took a little while to show up when I was on that part. I don't remember if she was in a certain spot the first time but it seems more often the pops up around the edges of the light areas though I've also found her in the town and off in dark areas as well.

my wife says the iPad version gives her gems if you click like 200 times on a shrine. normally they just convert extra element shards to bits, but she got two gems once.yes Ditzy gives a gem every now and then

this happened to me today and what i did i went to the GL screen from the Scroll Down menu of the game and I had to relogin into GL ,i got back to the main screen and then to the Gifting area and all the friends showed up again.Where do I find the treasure chests?

more friends appearing every day-so very easy, I used to hit the gems so often at the begining :) and then I let my nephew play and he used them up too a couple of times:)
but I lost yet more gems. Yesterday I had 33 (after laboriously clearing bugs) - today there was just a few- I must have hit "use gems" when I cleared a rock or something. I hate how easy it is to loose the gems, considering how slowly they accumulate.

I got the Christmas update today!!! I still only have 24 of my 98 friends showing up in the game. And I haven't found the "watch ads for free gems" thing either.The button seemed to have disappeared for me. Maybe it's now region-coded and won't let you have free gems if no ads is available in my area? :(

If you want things fast it is a money sucker. It took me a few months to get sweetie belle for 30 jems without paying for her. So you can gain jems it just takes a while. I find them by finding the pony in the box, playing each day by day 4 and 5 you get jems, some quests do give you jems, and I have gotten jems from the statues of harmony. Mostly you get bits from them but I did get a jem once:)
I love it as it is My Little Pony:) It can be a bit dull and uneventful and at a point it feels that you can get everything and that would be the end of the game:(

Is anyone having trouble with the game as far as internet connection? I haven't been able to use any of the features requiring internet (sharing to FB, collectig/sending chests and hearts, going on to GL to accept friend invites) for quite some time now. All my other internet-requiring apps work fine, it's just problems with this one. I also haven't been able to claim my daily bonus in weeks.

I've been lax about leaving treasure chests lately (my 2 and 5 year old kids monopolize my iPad during the day when I used to do it), but it looks like I'll have to get back in the habit. If anyone else is stuck on a treasure chest quest, let me know and I'll try to send them to you! (Assuming the game lets me see you in my friend list. I can't see three of my personal friends right now, and with a friend list of almost 400, I might see 50 at a time. :p)

Hey everybody! Over the last few days, I've noticed something odd. I keep having issues going to friends' towns to drop treasure chests. I get some message about an error and it just never connects. All other social features seem to be working just fine. But yesterday and today, I noticed I CAN connect, travel and drop chests in the afternoon hours. Weird, huh? I play a lot in the nighttime hours, so I thought my game was just broken ALL the time, but now I'm making a special effort to stop in every afternoon to drop boxes. I thought I'd share, in case anyone's having a similar problem! Also, I'm really relieved to know that I'm not the only one who doesn't see most of their friends in the game. I keep clicking "Gift All" in the hopes my gifts will reach these missing friends (I'm always getting gifts from people who don't show on my list, so hopefully it's so...?), but I worry that the majority of my friends think I'm not a good friend if they don't ever get anything from me! :(

Ugh I have 16 friends on gameloft but when I go to the game it says I have none:/ It shows a list of all that I invited and people send me hearts but I can't send anything. I dunno what to do. So glad there's an update out even though it's on iOS yet. The snow made it really difficult to tell buildings apart sometimes.
Unfortuantely the game is being its usual crazy, money-hungry self. I have an un-skippable quest to buy Soarin and he costs 250 gems! :crazy: I have 52 gems but I don't get any gems from levelling up or free ads anymore. Also all of my parasprites want Magic shards of which I get, on average, 1 a week.

What do you tap to get a gem?A harmony stone, and feed it your superfluous shards (mainly laughter and honesty, you'll get loads of them). You will receive many bits in return, and every few hundred shards you may be rewarded a gem.

Sometimes you have to tap on it 400 times to get a gem. Argh, it really puts strain on my wrist so I try not to do it often.

The quests are skippable so far. At the moment it's only asked for 5 gems to buy a flower vase - I skipped it for fewer gems. At the moment it wants me to buy Apple Cobbler who is 100 hearts (skippable for 3 gems).So far I heard the following:

On a lighter note though, does anyone else think they did an invisible update on the frequency of magic shards? I used to be lucky to get one a day, but now I can manage like three or so a day. I didn't see that since I updated via the app. Interesting. But since I have 30 or so magic shards I bet I'll still get more magic shard swarms to add the bazillion or so I have now. :| It's getting to the point where a poorly aimed tap will clear a magic shard parasprite.

Weird, I don't seem to be having any new issues other than my game crashing sometimes when I leave a chest. I can collect hearts and chests fine, and I can still time travel. In fact, going back in time now usually lets me collect dailies when I go forward again.Hm that's weird. Lovestruck is infecting my ponies! She seems to be carrying a virus or perhaps a lovebug. She was standing and chatting to two ponies yesterday and they became infected! Luckily today they're fine again but she did it again this evening and got 4 ponies!!! I hope it doesn't mean they'll be prancing through the fields and cuddling behind the straw piles or anything else lovey-dovey. It only seems to be her that's contagious so I'd suggest putting up flowerpots or hedges around her until they find a cure! :lol:

After you unlocked the magic stone, go and tap them - but try to leave one of every swarm until all the magic ones are gone. Then: as soon as you freed a space from a swarm, close it up. They need a 2*2 square space to swarm, so drop a hedge or a mushroom or whatever you like to block every 2nd square...
Ugh and I had 68 gems saved for rarity but I accidentally bought another pony.....grrrr saving back up now, probably get about 3 gems a day so it's slow processYep. You're trying to save up, got, say, 30 or something - and then accidentally spend them on something completely useless (because you accidentally skip the time for shops or ponies, tap the zap apples or the big fat ball, the gem balloon pop, construction areas, extensions, cleaning rocks etc.) This is one of the most annoying things about this game...

Chests seem to register when you first log into the game. When you're actually playing and someone drops a chest while you're active, usually for me the game restarts itself immediately. If you're in doubt as to whether you've gotten a chest or not, you can close the application, or restart your phone to give the game a chance to reload.

I could be wrong or I'm missing something obvious, but I feel like I receive hearts in my inbox a lot more often than the game says I can send them out ? Like I'll go to return the favor ("send gift") but usually there's a timer counting down on the gift box. Does the time limit get shorter the higher your level ?I believe that those "donators" who appear more than once are just wrong names, i.e. yet another Gameloft glitch. The time remains 24h through every level. Doesn't keep me from tapping the 'gift all' button more often, though. :D

Rainbow Dash in particular I could imagine having to raise, and she takes ages between plays.Just raise all of them as far as you can, this is one of the few things which won't cause the game to crash. If you manage to raise Rainbow Dash to five stars before the quest comes up, the quest will just be marked as won when it comes up, and you'll reap in the rewards.

Anybody else experiencing sound effect issues? It was fine earlier, but now some of them sound like they're being mixed with the sound of metal scraping against concrete. Resetting the app didn't help.
The music dies altogether after a while too, but resetting the app fixes it.

Learned a long time ago that spending money carelessly, e.g. removing darkness or clearing rocks and trees, is a bad idea, since later a quest to do just that will come along and it'll be much more expensive than it used to be. On the other hand, the minigames do take money. Eh.

I'm currently stuck on ALL of my quests - two of them require me to by a restaurant, and I'm not even half way to enough gems (making okay progress though), and the other one requires me to receive 15 chests. If anyone is able to visit my town and leave me one here and there it would be appreciated, but I can't guarantee I'll be able to repay the favour, as most of the time it craps out on me :( I think I've managed to get it to work once in the past week (and then it gave up half way through my friends list!)

I had my iPhone upgraded yesterday and got to continue where I left off. It made me watch the storybook intro again, but everything else was fine. You just have to back it up.
If you mean switching types of phones entirely, I don't think you can continue, but I do not know for sure because GL Live does keep a record of your level and achievements...

Basically because I knew who did it and had the ability to collect a payment myself. Maybe if it was my own kid I would have gotten one? I dunno. I would understand the visiting thing if you could, say, remove clutter or parasprites and get a nice reward, but just dropping a heart seems pointless to me; so I only use the gift button. I think there's probably two reasons - more people are falling out of playing so much, and also a lot of the time people get error messages when trying to visit. The second one is why I don't drop many chests, which is a shame, as I would be happy to do so if I could.Good point, indeed.... (And, yes, the second one is absolutely my main reason.) Errors. This has happened to me twice now, the first time I waited for MONTHS to see if it would ever fix itself. eventually I just deleted it and started over, but yesterday it started crashing again- 50,000 bits, 35 gems, and 200 hearts, yeah I'm not even going to try starting over.

Uuugh, more horror stories like mine. Sorry to hear that so many people are having this problem and Gameloft doesn't seem to care. :( I went to their forums and the Gameloft representatives responding to people with the crashing problem just spewed out the cookie cutter answer of "file a complaint here!" with the link to their customer service page. I filed a complaint. No one contacted me. The crashing problem is so prevalent that when you go to file a complaint on their customer service site, the crashing problem is permanently listed there and you can click on the category "Crash at Launch" to begin the complaint filing process. Embarrassingly bad."rest assured that <yadayada> fixed <blabla> next update"... hehe, the GL forum mods. :lookround: I am convinced that most of them are just bots, randomly posting some cookie cutter reply under some threads. Only on very special occasions they stoop to answer in person. I have yet to figure out what these might be - I suppose it has something to do with certain planet constellations and the moon phase combined with their CEO's tie colour, the canteen menu and the toilet attendant's mood. Something like that. :toot:
Yeah, I heard the game can start working again if you reinstall it but you have to start over completely. I don't feel like it's worth it if the bug still isn't fixed. It could just happen again and again. No thanks. I won't be playing again until it's fixed. So upset by this.I doubt it will ever be fixed. They'll introduce some more new pricey ponies and decor items, which probably takes a big lot less effort than thoroughly testing and bug fixing their stuff. And they'll try to sell gems. The rest doesn't matter, it's just a cost factor. As soon as that cash cow is milked, they'll completely stop any further development of the game.

I've been lurking at the gameloft forums and the mods there have been driving me batty - most of the time they don't actually read what is written, just copy and paste the same drivel.It's incredible, isn't it? I believe that most of them are just bots. That would explain it.

H&H was already out when I downloaded, but it disappeared at the right time, so I assumed it was automatic. How does it work for other devices?Same thing with H&H. Second of all, this wasn't an update and that's why it wasn't on the Appstore. It's a piece of downloadable content made available for a limited time. As you've already seen, it makes no changes to your game, except adding decorations & Ponies.(WOAH, an almost real answer! Incredible!) I don't know, however, why this was only done for iOS, and I don't like the fact that they can just sneak content in and out of the game without the users having the slightest chance to give their OK or veto.

I typically play from my iPad but I wanted to play from my iPhone as well so I downloaded the app on that. I can't seem to link the two though. Is it possible?Sorry - no chance. :( You could use a savegame editor and iFunbox to transfer your current progress to the iPhone, so you don't have to start from the very beginning - but there's no chance to synchronize it, as all your stats (ponies, shops, decor, stars, hearts, gems, bits, shards, even rocks and parasprites) are stored locally.
I had my ponyville etc just about awesomely done and had spent a small fortune on bits and such. I then dropped my phone and had to redownload it from the market. Not a big deal, I signed in and such again and it had me start over. :cry: I had already bought Celestia and stuff and been playing for 4 months. Now I'm back at the beginning and just want to cry. I can't seem to find anything on Gameloft as to how to bring back my game, is it possible even?[/color]Sadly all the gamestats are saved locally on your phone/tablet/iPod touch. For some people this has got the advantage that the stats are manipulable with the help of savegame editors, but for those who lose their phone this is, of course, subpar.
If they completely ignore you, go to www.reddit.com/r/MLPIOS and search for the most recent savegame editor thread (one with >75 replies). Follow the instructions there and give yourself bits, gems etc. back.
In case one needs to transfer the old game to a new device, then you can transfer your game between devices with the help of this piece of software, too.

What we should all do is quit playing en masse. A few of us could quit, but it'd make no difference really. If Gameloft saw us all quit, they'd HAVE to do something because they'd be making no money. At the moment, they don't care because they're obviously making enough off the game, even with it's huge, glaring flaws! *grumble grumble*

The other thing I was wondering about parasprites. So far I have had nothing additional spawn - when do they start appearing? I just hit level 60.
The game just send me a notification that I should "build my own Canterlot" or somesuch. No indication of what this meant. Maybe it's a teaser for the upcoming Season 2 update? The notifications seem at best loosely connected to the game, given that I was getting notifications that the middle balloon pop game had been reduced to 10 gems for a few days, when this wasn't in fact the case.
I have a mission to clear them at the moment, but I've been holding off clearing more dark areas, just in case they do start spawning.The good thing about clearing dark areas is that there's no downside to doing it, other than not being able to use the bits themselves for anything else. Whenever you get a quest to clear a certain number of them, it counts ones you've already cleared. So, a friend and I have realised there's a glitch with the kindle version of the app, which basically allows you to send as many hearts as you want in 24 hours, so people probably get a bunch from me, as I hit Gift All regularly just in case! (I figure no one minds if they get extra hearts ;) )
You can get hearts one of two ways:
- Someone lists you as a friend and chooses to send you a gift, either by selecting you specifically or by pressing "Gift All." This can be be done once per friend per twenty-four hours, unless you're LadyGuinevere.
- Someone lists you as a friend and chooses to send you a treasure chest. This can also be done once per friend per twenty-four hours, but is much less common, because it can't be done in bulk and it requires them to visit your town and manually drop a treasure chest there before returning to their own town. This can take quite a bit of loading time, and not infrequently doesn't work at all. If you need treasure chests for a quest, it's probably best to say so and ask people for them, rather than relying on happenstance.
I have been gifting and dropping treasure chests to everyone on my friends list but there still isn't alot available. So if you guys see me add you please add me back asap so I can gift you ^^That's normal. Even people who added you back (or who requested friendship and were added back by you) don't always show up properly in-game, but appear only on the 'invited' list or not at all. This has been a known problem since the beginnings of the game, but didn't get fixed so far. Gameloft (or Hell or both) knows why this is the case.

To gift others multiple times, just tap that 'Gift all' button a couple of times, maybe it works. (Too sad one can't really check that...)

Nope. You still have to play in airplane mode if you want a 100% chance of getting into the game without a crash, to say nothing of a much higher framerate.

Last couple of days I've noticed that the friends list has been really glitchy, even more so than normal! I sometimes have to refresh the list a couple of times in order to get the list to come up.
I'm on Kindle fire too - I read on the gameloft forums that updates are slower to come to Kindle as Amazon do extra checks (or something like that).
I had trouble with friends after the update and what I did to get them back was this:
In the game, I went to settings, then network and hit "GL" so I could be taken to the GL page. I logged out and logged back in and it worked fine after that.
I restarted my games so I needed friends to finish some quests. I also need find chests, but none are dropping in the game. :(
If anyone could be so nice as to send some chests my way I'd really appreciate it- stuck on a quest needing 15 of them! Happy to repay the favour (when my friends list will load!), my ID is c_jenks :)

I have one gameloft live friend, but it says I don't on the game.... plus, no one seems to respond to or get my friend requests, and I don't know how to get my gameloft friends on my mlp list!! My gameloft ID is Kitsuneryo... and I can't get hearts or do the quests with friends. I could use some help!
I had trouble with friends after the update and what I did to get them back was this:
In the game, I went to settings, then network and hit "GL" so I could be taken to the GL page. I logged out and logged back in and it worked fine after that.
I am so upset right now! I made it to level 60 last night (game is on hubbies phone since mine can't support it boo) but he clicked on my stuff for me and his phone froze...happen all the time, but this time the game glitched and reset the whole game!! Now I have to restart from scratch *cries*

You know you can give yourself a nice dose of gems, hearts, shards etc. via Reddit and it's savegame editor, right? This may be a little spoonful of sugar. Your friends, however, should still be there - just log in again to GL.
Urgh, these accidental gem losses are beyond annoying, aren't they?
However, giving yourself gems is quite a piece of cake:
Go to reddit.com/r/MLPIOS, scroll down to find the thread about a Java savegame editor and follow the instructions there. I won't directly link to reddit on this site, because it is not always family friendly.
There's a thorough guide for iOS, while fandroids need to figure out how it works themselves, but I suppose it's a similar routine.
Make sure to have the latest Java version installed, for safety reasons. A good, slim text editor for Windows is Notepad++ (http://notepad-plus-plus.org/).

One recommendation, though:
I advise you to give yourself only the max number of gems (and maybe magic shards), and not too many bits or hearts. If you enjoy the mini games, don't push the ponies to five stars, either. Otherwise the game will be in 'boring aquarium mode' too soon. Skimp on gems as much as you can and try not to speed up things with them - only buy those ponies, shops and decorations you need.

The game always counts my previous expansion purchases towards any future expansion quests. It doesn't do that for you?

Updated today, but it's very glitchy. Can't see my friends to send them gifts and I can only access 1 heart at a time before it won't load anymore.

I can only collect 1 heart at a time on the friends page and then all the notifications disappear, and I have to change tabs and back again... Very frustrating, especially since I get 50+ hearts a day.

I re-downloaded this game the other day to give it another shot, after it randomly crashed on me a few months ago and decided to stop working. I could never get past the loading screen without it closing out on me, so I just deleted it and moved on.
They must have fixed some of the bugs I was experiencing before, because the game play is a lot smoother for me now (I'm using a Kindle Fire). My friends list is also finally working, where it wasn't before. I had a few hundred hearts waiting for me right off the bat upon starting up again, which was nice. :)

So I've heard that you cannot get gems from watching ads, but how do you do that? I see the get free gems button but when I click on it, it just takes me to a list of apps to download for gems.The contents of that list are always changing. It's not all app downloads -- there are a lot of "request this quote" or "buy this product" and the like -- and from time to time an ad will appear in the list, and it'll even work properly maybe around 20% of the time you tap it.
My friends' list hasn't loaded at all in a couple days. :\

Edit: Apparently the default program to open archive files on Macs is garbage. On a whim I opened it with Stuffit Expander and immediately got the missing .jar file, which opened as soon as I clicked on it. Only problem I have with it is that you have to reign yourself in and not start skipping everything all the time. Or at least I do. "2 hours until that's done ? Pffft, why should I wait". I'm having problems on my Kindle. I got the Canterlot update last week and everything was okay for the first couple days, but now all my friends disappeared. It wants me to link up with both Gameloft and Facebook again, but when I try I get an error. Then it says I have no friends, so I can't give or receive hearts right now. When I go into Gameloft itself I haven't lost any of my friends there. Any ideas?

Turns out they have upgraded their forums, and I have to change my password, which it won't let me do, and it won't let me contact the forum administrator either! Well, my personal opinion is (and I'm sorry to be such a Negative Nancy[TM]) that you shouldn't have bought anything from GL in the first place. But you're not a child any more and there's no use crying over spilt milk. Just my reason for this unfriendly thought: in my eyes the only language they understand is €¢$¥£ - i.e. as long as there are people who still pay for this bug infested piece of software, GL will not see any reason to change their terrible behaviour - the business model works, all's fine, don't bother with complaints. If their sales break in, however, they might wake up.
My recommendation: get the Dreamwalk which now works for Kindle, too, give yourself 5 million gems and the hearts you need and maybe reset the received hearts counter. I made the experience that, for whatever reason, the game is slower and tends to crash more if there are lots of hearts which need to be collected.
Some boring tech talk for those who want to know more:
The current version of the Dreamwalk showed me why this could be one of the reasons for the constant crashes, as it allows you to view (and modify, if you know what you're doing - sadly I don't...) the unencrypted Savegame in "XML mode".
The mlp_savegame.dat is a monstrous XML file with more than 10000 lines. Every single item, every pony, shop, decoration, parasprite, gift you gave, heart you have to collect etc. is listed there with its according values. If you are bored, scroll through it. One thing is clear: the less items, the smaller that file - the less memory and CPU ressources are needed to process it. Afaik, an XML file always needs to be read (and rewritten) completely if it is accessend and the tiniest value is modified (i.e. bits are collected, a parasprite is killed, ...) and it seems to me like our mobile devices' memories are quite overwhelmed by the sheer mass of stuff listed in this file. This condition is worsened by the Canterlot additions which made that file even bigger and all those randomizers which define when a new changeling, Drama Pony, rock etc. shows up.
My assumption is that the game could run smoother, was there a nice, clean SQL table instead, where single values are accessed and modified, not a whole file - but... Gameloft.
Sadly I don't have a way to play it all the time myself but I did get it on my mom's kindle fireHD and set up a gameloft ID for her so it's doll_lady. Hope to visit all of you there when I'm playing on it.
However: what were GL thinking? Or better: WERE they thinking at all?

I've been playing the MLP game for about six months now. I was up to level 70 with over 5.3 MILLION bits, 7 hearts and 313 gems. Then this morning the game restarted itself and I lost EVERYTHING!!!!!! I had ALL the ponies that cost bits and hearts, many of the ponies that cost gems, nearly all the balloon pop ponies, ALL the shops except Town Hall and tons of decor items including many holiday exclusives that I can't get back.
I had all the ponies EXCEPT the following: Flashy Pony, Lovestruck, Featherweight, Lucky Clover, Mr. Breezy, Snails, Princess Celestia, Diamond Tiara, Flam, Filthy Rich, Prince Blueblood, Silver Spoon, Princess Luna's Royal Guard, Aunt Orange, Princess Cadance, Shining Armor.

The theater is a great idea! Unfortunately it looks like it doesn't work in airplane mode, and the chances of the game running while not in airplane mode are roughly 1/100...It doesn't work in regular mode, either. You get to watch that game trailer, but neither is it counted as a completed quest, nor do you get the promised gems.
I've got another question though; I bought the Canterlot Theatre and watched some of those trailers to get gems, but I didn't get any gems! >_< Why?Gameloft. That's why.
I'm so excited for the new update but theres tons of people saying it completely crashed their games on androids, which has happened to me twice, so I'm scared to try:/Being a proud member of the Church of Steve Jobs ;), I don't know much about android machines - but isn't there a way to save your game progress (and maybe the complete app package) on your computer, so you can restore it if the backup does not work? No, the update didn't get rid of my over-abundance of Twilight Sparkles. There's still tons of them, and I only receive 3 of Twilight's elements of harmony shards a day. I hate that!
I still cannot access my list of friends. That's frustrating me to no end:(
I'm feeling a little discouraged. Thanks to repeated game crashes I lost a LOT of heart gems, and all Gameloft was able to do after a long period of silence was tell me that they would take steps to ensure it didn't happen again. :( Would it have killed them to give me the gems I'd earned?
How do you add people? I've tried many times, even using the tutorial on the first page of this thread and it still doesn't work. Or my tablet is just hard to work with...In the top right hand corner of the game there's a scroll. Click it and scroll down to 'GL Live!" it takes a second to open. Then on the left hand bar there's a bunch of options like 'shop' and 'profile.' Click 'friends' On the top right is a little orange icon with a plus symbol and a little guy in it, click it and then type in the username of the friend you want to add!

Android was released this morning. We have time. There is only one pony for gems and it's 80. Which isn't a tonne I guess, though I don't think I'll be able to save for her in time.My game still hasn't updated on the kindle. I just get the ads telling all this great Halloween stuff is available...
As for getting Flash, it helped a LOT that I maxed out my gems a while back with Luna's Dreamwalk. I also was able to score a total of about 3000 points per play on EQ Stomp.

Lots of expensive Halloween stuff released today (yes I think anything over 10 gems is expensive) and we have what, like 6 days to get it all? XD The Halloween update should have been released October 1st! Gameloft is...fail. I see after I updated with the Equestria Girls stuff that receiving hearts is broken again for me. Like, I can get one at a time again just like how it was when it was broken before.
I agree completely, it would be nice to have an option to buy gems for game gold. They REALLY need to give us more things to spend coins on. I have millions just sitting there because 90% of everything costs gems and LOTS of them. They are definitely nickle and diming the hardcore fans who spend real money for gems instead of hacking.
The hearts glitch is super annoying... They need to make sure their updates don't mess that up before they release them - or maybe give us a "collect all" option?? It's not rocket science...

It will though, Ranchlamb. It resets every week. Unfortunately it still isn't long enough to finish without either cheating or spending a bajillion gems.Oh I understand now. I think the other exclusive prices are kinda lame considering. 1000 bits is nothing when you spend 2000 or more on the dress. Oh and a well... really that is not exclusive at all.
