I love to look at all of these. My favorite is the 2 palomino circus horses.

I'm not an active collector (in my opinion, why spend money on collectibles instead of art supplies?) but I do have a few that I've collected over the years. My Traditionals are Hidalgo, Pat Parelli's Casper, and Moonbeam; I have a Classic that I think is Rex; and I also have some random stablemate horses and three of the dogs.
Edit: What the heck, I'll post a picture now. It's a bit dark, but it'll do. By the way, I have no idea what happened to Rex, I think he may be in my closet.

Beautiful models, everyone! Photobucket is still acting cranky so I'm going to have to just link it. Sorry for the cruddy lighting; recent storms mean no sunshine here!

Aaand it linked to a slide show instead. Whatever, PB.  Say, anyone else here ever travel to BreyerFest? 2014 will be the 25th anniversary and I'm kinda stoked about it! It will be my 19th 'Fest.

Welllll I don't really collect Breyers anymore, but I do have a good amount of them. My NIB guys still live with my mom till I have a place to put them.

These cabinets are by our laundry room and there are the pretty etched ones but also just plain ones on the side. The top up there where there is a little railing. We are buying a storage shed around Christmas and those boxes will be gone. All my NIB horses will go around the railing, sorry it's a bit messy there laundry stuff is in that area where I fold.

This is my china cabinet in my craft room

a lower cabinet with no glass (in the laundry room area not my china cabinet)

I actually love Peter Stones and have been collecting a small herd of weanlings...but my new dangerous obsession is resins and micro pewters. I adore them and they might have taken over my love for ponies. >_>

Now behold my obsession hidden in the lower cabinets of the china cabinet. Actually I just started collecting them this year and most are still blank and need paint. >_<

Who are the dark bay classic sized draft horses that you have (that I do not)?  :lookround: I love them!  That is my favorite mold.

Stalking this thread :D

I loved Breyers as a kid, but I was more of a Grand Champions kid.

They're the ones that came with the Delivery Wagon, and they weren't easy to track down.  I finally had to resort to buying the whole set off eBay (I usually wait to find things at Breyerfest).  The shire is easily my favorite Classic mold.  :D

I've been to every one.

I loved Breyers as a kid, but I was more of a Grand Champions kid.

I always wanted Breyers but I too had GC's, cheaper alternative, lol - I actually never had a single Breyer. I found ONE once at a Flea Market for $2, and found it a better home but, every time I see them at flea markets, most of them are $10+

Are there any good sites where a newbie could learn what kind of things to look for at second hand places?

I don't know a good overall place to look but just for model horses identify your Breyer is goo to figure out which one is which. Model horse sale pages and Blab are good sources to help with prices.

Other stuff I dunno! My wife is a member of a local flea market group that discusses items. Might look for one of those.

I got my first one when I was 7 years old. I got him for Christmas. Its was pluto and I still have him!

I still have some of the other ones that my parents got me for another Christmas time in 1995. :) I will never be able to sell them off!
