Title: Ponies that rattle
Post by: Storm.Runner on May 19, 2012, 09:31:51 AM
Hey guys, my grail pony Princess Starburst just arrived! She's in better condition than I expected and came with a tail ribbon, but I noticed she does rattle a bit when shaken. Is this normal and is it harmful? I don't want to pop her head as the seal is in pristine condition but I'm a little worried about the rattling.

Must be the loose metal rings fixing the hair, they do that sometimes. Dunnoh if it's damaging the pony (since I dehaired my ponies completely) but it sure is annoying.

I was gonna guess a metal ring too!  Or maybe some loose plastic!

I have a rattly pony and that is because her tail washer thing came undone, and then her tail pulled out.

Maybe try not to tug on her tail too hard.  If nothing bad has happened to her this far, I doubt it will be a problem in the future.

The only thing that could be bad is if the metal part that is rattling around gets rusty. Then I think it would be a good thing to open her, or else she will get rust stains.

Her tail washer will be loose inside...its up to you if you want to remove it but you ll need to carefully remove her head to do that - then just tip her up and the washer will fall out.

All in if she doesnt have any signs of tail rust...I would simply leave the washer be...unless its rusty its not going to do any harm. But for me thats just because I dont see the need to remove a pony head unless its to prevent or fix damage...a loose tail washer is just a common occurrence. For other people they prefer to remove the noise and the washer!

Thanks guys :) I'm still not sure on if I want to pop her head, but I'm not seeing tail rust on her tail so I guess it's ok. I'll be careful and keep an eye on her though, may have to pop her head and replace the washer with a zip tie.

it can be her tail washer, which you'd want to remove because they can rust in the body.

or sometimes it can be loose bits of plastic inside the body
