she's missing the bridge to her glasses, would anyone keep her MIB with this defect or would it be safe to take her out and paint it on?

Personally, I'd keep her MIB.  :)

I don't know, some people seem to go nuts over factory error ponies

Wait for more people to respond before you decide.

Not neccesarily. There are people like me who adore factory errors and will pay a bit extra to acquire them :3

You need to keep the pony MIB though. It's the ONLY proof you have of it being a legit factory error, and not someone trying to be dishonest.

Weird!

As others have said it kind of depends if you will sell her in the future - if you wish to sell her as, ImmortalPanda says, the only way to prove someone simply hasnt removed it with acetone is to keep her in her box - if you will be keeping her in your collection for as long as you can see then you should remove her if you prefer a loose one on display :)

The sheer number of these toys available and sold and now with collectors/children, is sufficient that I dont think she is going to be a hard to find or rare character in the future so while it may add a little on to her value, I agree that its not significantly amounts of money.

If she were a single or two-pack pony I'd say keep it for the novelty/possible value.  But the collector set is expensive- unless you have enough money to buy another box for your own enjoyment, I'd say take her out and do what you please if that's what you plan to do.  I imagine a big sealed box like that would be hard to sell anyway.

i have a love of factory defect but as stated..once its out of the box its no longer a defect..once opened its a casualty of to much play....hotwheels are a prime example of some WEIRD defects and what they can do to value as well as collectability.....error stuff is always cool..but no box=no proof

Maybe you could trade her for a non-defective set?  If it is of interest to other collectors they would probably pay for shipping both sides of the trade.

well, she is still in the box unopened. Since i normally debox, I slid it under my dresser so I wouldn't be tempted to open it. I would rather have one I wouldn't feel bad about opening.

Yep, keep her MIB if you want her to be regarded as a factory error.  Otherwise, 3 years from now people will just think you used acetone on her.  ;)
