G1 -
Fave: Probably the variety of pony types and the TV specials and Movie.
Least Fave: Fading Pink Hair/ Delicate pieces (flutter Wings) and Flocking loss/symbol sparkle loss
G3 -
Fave - The hoof heart and all the interactions they have with the playsets.
Least Fave: Lack of variety of pony types. We barely had any unicorns, babies or Pegasus ponies. The only other types I can think of are breezies or the ponies with huge wings. G3 was missing a little bit of the “magic” that G1 had in the beginning. G3 was a little more like My Little Pony Tales, (ponies in a village doing human things) they did try to change that by year 3/4 and make it more fantastical which I appreciated.

Definitely to spend less, I went crazy last year. I probably bought over 200 G1 and G3 ponies altogether. I don’t even want to know what I spent, I couldn’t bare to add it all up. I did find some really great deals on FB a market place and did a lot of bulk buying to save on shipping, but that’s my silly way of justifying my over spending. 😬
I’ve told myself (not sure if this will stick) that I can only buy two ponies a month, or about $50 CDN plus shipping. I really need to stick to this. My bank account needs me to!
So I really need to figure out which 24 ponies I want to add to my collection. I’m hoping to complete a few sets where I’m missing one or two ponies.

This is my favourite holiday collection of G3’s. I only have winter wish but the other two are high on my want lists.
They’re names are feel very correct and go well with their symbols, which isn’t always the case for G3’s.
Even the accessories on them are great.

I feel like Hasbro screwed up Jolly Lilly and Mittens names this year . As Mittens from 2003 has almost the exact same symbol as Jolly Lolly.

Thanks, Everyone! I’m really happy with the way she turned out. Now I just need to complete my set…. If only Diamond Dreams wasn’t so expensive and elusive. Fingers crossed one day I’ll find her

I got a bait MGR Tassels with a terrible haircut. I decided since I already had this pony I would re-hair her to match the back-card/MGR game. As A kid I had Tassles and I never really loved her hair and body colour combo and wished her hair matched the drawings. I actually really didn’t love the MGR ponies as a kid, but I actually love them now. So I made childhood dream a reality and I re-haired her to match. Here’s my second pony. Sunspot with yellow hair and gold and red tinsel. To be honest, I don’t love it, only for the fact that I think the yellow I used is too close to white, which it sort of just looks like her original hair when sun bleached but with red tinsel. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginI may re hair her, I think I would maybe even uses different colour than yellow, I do wish I used pink tinsel instead of red. Oh well, on to the next.

These are lovely stories! I’m not sure if this is exactly what your looking for but, I’ll tell it anyways. I have my MO Star Hopper on my desk. She looks up at my computer monitor and reads all my emails and messages (I work from home). Whenever I have a rough day it’s nice looking to the right of my desk and seeing something that makes me joyful. She’s paired with a Funko Pop Britney Spears figure. They live on my desk together.

I finished my first pony! Here’s the picture: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginI used Medley Green hair, Pristina Green Tinsel and Sunspot Gold Tinsel from Shimmer Locks. I think she came out quite nice. Although it’s hard to see the different colour tinsel in the picture. As well, I don’t think I’ll add tinsel to the forelock going forward, it’s too hard to get to stay flat. I just started working on Sunspot. Hope to have her finished tonight.

Definitely had similar thoughts as an adult collector.
My favourite ponies to play with as a kid were the ones I saw on the TV shows and movies, I had quite I few of those ponies and was able to reins to RAMC, Escape From Cartrina and the Movie.
I always got nee ponies but had less attachment to them… I never really loved my Rainbow Curl Pony, Rockin’ Beat, or Merry Go Round Ponies… I even cut MGR Sparkler’s leg off for some reason. 😬
But as an adult I really love those sets and find them really pretty, but as a kid I thought they were kind of ugly.
Go figure.

Thanks everyone! Hollywoods hair is really dry and frizzy still, I might try the conditioner/straighter method to make it look a little nicer, but Beach Ball came out way better than I expected.
I ordered new hair for Tassels, I’m going to re-hair her with really pink hair like her back card shows. I already have a tassels, so I thought it would be fun to have one that matches the merchandise. I was always sort of confused as a kid why my pony didn’t quite have the same hair colour as the box.
I’ll post it once I get around to re-hairing her, still waiting for the hair to arrive.

I love Megan and Sundance's outfit’s. Very cute.
I also noticed you have a sunspot with pink hair! So hard to find!!
