Never put corn in your potato salad!

I had a kilo of potatoes that I needed to get rid of before they went bad, so I decided to fry half of them for today, and to make a salad of the rest for tomorrow. Then I found a can of corn in my kitchen cabinet that was about to expire (I know you can still use it well after that date, but I prefer not to), so I threw it in my potato salad.

...GROSS. I don't know what it was, but it made the whole thing smell and taste like plastic!

In the end I fished the potatoes out to save them for tomorrow, and attempted to eat the loose corn now so it wouldn't go to waste. But it was just gross. I usually like corn with pretty much anything, but maybe the fact that I left the skins on the potatoes (I absolutely love potatoes with skin!) caused that vile reaction, as it's a very distinctive taste... Now the smell won't get out of my nose. I'm still nauseous.

I'm feeling much better now that she's cleaned up well. And yikes, that weather sounds brutal! I hope you can stay safe in the sun!

As for my complaint today, I tried a different type of support for my wrist, as the adjustable one got worn out by the velcro attachment and kept coming undone. This one is okay in theory, as it goes on like an armwarmer, it's much less restrictive and it stays in place really well, but even with having gotten the smallest size, it's still a bit loose around my wrist, so it doesn't really help all that much with the pain.

Uh, I think I accidentally packed away my Aleeve yesterday. I can't find it.

I tried to keep the medicine I use regularly separate from what was going in boxes but must have missed it.

Now I have three boxes to open and check. I ran out of packing tape yesterday too, but there is some on the way.

edit: Yes indeed I packed it! Duh. It was in box #2.

My complaint is that yesterday evening, the handsaw went right into my hand, ironically. Adding insult to injury, while I was trying to get the wound to stop bleeding so I could clean and dress it, I had to contend with a buzzing feeling in my head, really bad tinnitus and my vision went all grainy. No idea what that was all about. Could've done without all that, really. I just want to get some more work done on fixing up the house. :/
On the plus side, it doesn't look quite so severe this morning. It's still a nasty gouge and it hurts, but it's manageable.

The wires in all my bras except one decided to travel out from their places. I've tried to put them back but they wont stay so now I have to get new bras, and since I'm on the larger size it wont be cheap. Also, the store I prefer has closed its location here so I have to order them from the web.

I woke up and my mouth was so dry. I drank some water but it went dry again. I'm also sporting chapped lips. It's certainly not the weather, very hot and humid.

I wonder if my sister turned down (up?) the dehumidifier. I'll check after I have my tea.

edit: Nope, it's still set at 45. Hmm. Could it be anxiety? I don't feel anxious but maybe I am subconsciously.

It's 21:14! My dad and I have this running joke that whenever it's 21:12, it's Rush o'clock, but we've missed Rush o'clock tonight by two entire minutes because I was making a cup of tea. Utterly shameful.

Today should have been my PhD graduation ceremony.

But Covid rather got in the way.

Should have been in London right now

It should hopefully happen next year though, fingers crossed.

I'm not sure if I broke my toe. I stubbed it hard yesterday on my wicker ottoman. It hurts, it's completely bruised, it's swollen, but I can still (painfully) move it. So I dunno. It's the pinky toe.
