Miniature Sheep, I'm sorry you have to deal with a boss like that.

My family is making baked potatoes for the 3rd time this week. :(

My family is making baked potatoes for the 3rd time this week. :(

Send them to me! :P I love potatoes and could easily eat them everyday.

---

My dad keeps turning the thermostat up. I'm the one that pays the electric bill, so I keep setting it where I want it at 74°. He complains it's too cold and turns it up to 77. That is way too hot for me. I tell him he can wear a hoodie or get under a blanket. It's easier to get warm than it is to cool off. I told him I pay the bill and if he wants to control the temp he can pay it. He just laughs. And we keep going back and forth with it.

I'm seriously thinking of getting a little cage for it or something.

No fleamarkets today. :( Today was supposed to be the Big Pony Day (Kingsday), but for obvious reasons there's nothing now. Usually this is a huge day for me, but now it's just a normal one (I don't want to have anything to do with the royal family, so for me this really is just Pony Day every year :P ).

I am looking on the bright side though. No horrible stomach ache from excitement and stress (yes, I am pathetic like that), no collecting coins for weeks to make sure I have enough (plus getting bank notes from the ATM which I really can't afford, but what if there's a huge box of ponies for €50? :freak: ), no uncomfortable but cute clothes in which I have to walk and ride my bicycle all day...

Nah, it's a fine day. :P

Stuff at work that is stupid and would take too long to explain so the nutshell version is: If there's a smart/fast way to do it, we aren't going to do it that way.  Why?  Because showing any measurable level of intelligence within the borders of Utah is a surefire way to get sent straight to hell and we wouldn't want that.

Tesco is now offering alarm clock services.

By which I meant they decided to phone at 7.45 this morning to tell my parents their priority slot delivery will arrive between 10 and 11.

They had to do that before 8am? Seriously??

To add...and then we have no internet almost all day.

I'm tired of making dinner.  Why can't we just have complete meal pills like in the Jetson's?  :pout:

Visited Asda supermarket this morning.

Grey, drizzly weather, so a tiny queue to get in.

But inside - have people forgotten to keep their distance, at one point I was trapped in an aisle with 2 sets of people in front and behind, stalemate, no-one moving (or obeying the arrows on the floor) until one guy moved to let me pass (while I held my breath).

So now I have a "psychosomatic sore throat" from the thought of all those folks crowding me. Urgh!!

Right now I have nothing bad to say about Asda's delivery service as they were the only ones making slots available to us until this week (bear in mind we went into lockdown on the 16th March). But their actual stores...have you ever been to the one in Roehampton? It's a huge shed where you walk in the door and are greeted by a polygamous gnome wedding ceremony. Gnomes also look down on you from the top of the toilet roll aisle. You have to walk through an underground carpark to get to it (for carpark, read racetrack). I almost miss it...the local one here is a lot more boring. (Fewer gnomes, too).

Can't be worse than Morrisons though. When I lived in North London, the Morrisons there would get so crowded I'd literally have to step outside. And the last time we went to the one near here, it was worse than Christmas. Admittedly this was right before lockdown happened for older people, but still.

Can’t get any mini jammy dodgers from anywhere. Home and Away, and Neighbours are only on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, got to wait till the 11th May for Neighbours to be on five days a week (don’t know about Home and Away)

Had too much coffee on an empty stomach. Now I'm shaking. :pout: I knew it was coming as it's a common phenomenon for me, but I really wanted that second (big) cup of black coffee... People will be people. :P

Coffee gets me twitchy, too. I normally have decaf, but on certain mornings I will have the real stuff and I can certainly feel it afterwards!!  :P  :freak:  :dizzy:

So, after weeks of hand-washing (machine broke down at start of lockdown) and not being able to fit bedding sheets in my sink, we have at last ordered a new machine and arranged for the eco collection of the old, broken one.

So many obstacles, though!

1) working out how to disconnect the old one - got there in the end, it was quite simple, really.
2) moving the old machine out of the house by myself (husband busy on vidconf with work all day so I did not want to bother him - a carpet off-cut made things so much easier!
3) moving my husband's car out of the way so that I can get the old machine out on the drive - the battery was dead and... after much faffing with jump-starters, I managed to move the car the required distance!

So, need to do the same AGAIN tomorrow, in reverse, when the new machine arrives.

Ah, clean laundry, saved hands...

Goodwill is closed due to the pandemic, which sucks because I am stuck at home and it'd be nice to see the antiques :read:

The virus is a terrible one for sure. A historic event we are living through.

@Glitterball - it seems to be a washing machine epidemic as well.

One of our neighbours had theirs turfed out on the street for collection a few weeks ago. And ours is basically on its last legs...Mum and Dad actually had people in to repair it at the end of March (cue Taffeta freaking out about safety but they came like the masked avengers with gloves, wipes and everything so it was fine). But our machine is basically ready to collapse any time...the fix they did on it is literally to try and see it through the pandemic. Sigh. If only the parents had decided a new machine was more important than getting the kitchen painted at the start of March...(hindsight is beautiful).
