Re: the Fair photo - yes, I think there's a good chance the Celestials turned into FFs and/or Colourswirls, too. They're similar enough ideas that I'd be surprised if it was a total coincidence, anyway.

According to that thread, the ponies with socks, blazes etc were called something like Patchwork Ponies or Quilt Ponies.

They look like one solid piece, so I guess there's no way to take heads off?

Yeah, I don't think the heads are separate pieces. But I'm sure customizers will find a way I've seen customs of Dollymixes and those are teeny-tiny, so I have no doubt we'll be seeing customs of these sooner or later! I'm really excited about that.

I LOVE that they went with some alternate poses for some characters!! I know it was probably more to save costs than anything, but they look soooo good like this, especially CC. I love seeing them experiment with the designs instead of just doing 1:1 copies (I know that's the whole point of the repros, but still!).

thanks for the heads up they posted amazon links but I'ma bit out of the loop - I thought that celestial ponies were going to be sold as a 40th anniversary 4set??  I was so looking forward to owning the whole set (as I would imagine many of us are) so is this a change of plans for Basic Fun to be posting them only as singles?

They will be singles as far as I've heard.  They had a mockup of the box at the Texas toy show in October and it was a single box with "Collect them all!" on the side.  Four ponies total.  Really stellar (hee hee) box design!

Yeah, I've never heard of them being sold as a set of four, I think the plan has always for them to be sold separately.

ok thanks for clarifying and it seems than that they changed up from the original concept kinda bummer I was looking forward to a crumpet pose pink celestial (well more of an opportunity to get some customs made)
