What Became of Kimono's Townhouse?

Hello!

It's been a really hot minute since I was last on here, but I figured this was the best place to come to with this question since I can't really find any answers on my own.

I recently started reading the "Kimono's Townhouse" comic series on LiveJournal. I did some clicking around and discovered there was actually a whole website for this comic way back in the day. It was literally just kimonostownhouse dot com. But I can only explore it using the Wayback Machine because apparently the website no longer exists.

The last snapshot I could find for it was from 2021 and apparently the site was still up and active.

The website/blog was super-detailed and fun to look through. The creator Dava Butler seemed to be a full-time pony hobbyist making customs and pony tutorials and other webcomic series with ponies.

The last Kimono's Townhouse page was made in 2014, now ten years ago.

The site seems to be gone.

Does anyone here know what became of the comic and of Dava? Is she just gone from the pony hobby scene entirely or is she still out there online somewhere doing different things now?

I'm just really curious cause I absolutely love this comic so far and it's making me want to make something like this myself in the future.

The last I saw on her site was she was doing palaeontology research. I've no idea what she's been doing more recently though...
I loved reading it & saved the images for personal use

I remember that site/comic! I don't know about Dava personally, even though I studied paleo in my MSc around the time Kimono's Townhouse stopped being published, which is an interesting coincidence!

I hope they're doing okay and I'm glad the site can still be accessed through the Wayback Machine. <3

Oh, I loved Kimonos Townhouse! I have no idea what Dava is up to now, but I guess life happened. I thought I had some of them on the computer but could not find them. They might be on a extended hard drive somewhere. I did stumble upon Death by Pink by Tilas though .

OMG both Kimono’s Townhouse and Death by Pink were both such big influences on my collecting! I’m not nearly ask skilled as the creators of those two comics, but I definitely have a small hoard of miniatures and play sets for pony photography because of those comics! Every now and then I’ll run across Kimono’s Townhouse being posted on Tumblr and seeing the pages makes me so happy!

Law my memory is a little foggy, but I think Death by Pink was about an evil Pinkie Pie hahaha! I remember it was done with Ponyville ponies and that the ponies expressions would be edited digitally so they could be more expressive…..I remember some of them being pretty funny!

Yeah DB Pink was great, it was a photo comic with Ponyvilles and portrayed Pinkie as an evil mastermind trying to take over the world It was hilarious. Sadly it looks like that one's completely disappeared from the 'net

I do. I downloaded all the episodes. I think they might be on the same hard drive as Kimonos Townhouse. There are a bunch of them on Youtube though .
