The main point I see people criticize is the lanky legs and non-bobbly head. It was such a huge departure from the g2 pets everyone (including myself) loved. Especially with film making, they were not compatible at all with what we had before.
I have to admit, seeing people get g7 so early in Canada and such really hurts. Most of the US doesn't have them yet. It feels like they just don't care about us.

I get the non-bobblehead thing (they did fix that up pretty quickly though), don't really get the proportions thing since I still don't see much of a difference in the gens there, sorry.

Gen 7! I don't understand the generations for LPS, haha, they seem to start a new gen every five mins. Would now be a bad time to say G7's just started to hit the shops here in the UK? ^^; Hope you get them over there soon - gotta admit, it is nice to get something first for once though :silly:

The way LPSmerch separates differently from what I separate them as, so here is my LPS gen timeline!
To show the differences in each gen, I will use the same animal as examples.

G1- Kenner LPS 1992-1996

G2- Hasbro LPS 2005-2012

G3- Hasbro LPS based off the cartoon 2012-2014

G4- Hasbro LPS based off the cartoon (redesigned) 2014-2016

G5- Hasbro LPS based off the webisode show "A World Of Our Own" 2016-2020

G6- Basic Fun LPS dubbed "G7" 2023-

Images from LPS Collector and LPSmerch

It seems that Basic Fun used the same timeline as LPSmerch. It kind of rubs me the wrong way that they didn't go to the community for that information. (Most people do not agree with LPSmerch gens)

Basic Fun also seems to have stopped making retro MLP. Its really saddening to see the empty shelves in stores... I hope Hasbro fixes themselves soon. I want new ponies!!!

They count an extra "gen" of g2 and g4, aparently.

Hoping to get some clear acrylic risers for my g4. The cardboard ones I made aren't very pretty.  :relaxed:

We have a billy shelf with glass doors for our warhammer stuff. It doesn't eliminate dust fully, but it gets a lot less dusty than without doors.
I also have Detolf shelves for the ponies, which also do get dusty over time, but nothing compared to back in the day when I had my ponies in a Billy with no doors. :)

Here is my collection! The pic is kinda big, so I put it under the spoiler tag. As you can see, I collect Pony Wear and I have a good start. I do have the Great Skates outfit, but it's not pictured because the dang skates never stay on my pony.

Thanks! It's funny; when I first started collecting ponies, I was only trying to get the classic ponies (years 1-3), but somehow I got into Pony Wear (I can't even remember what fueled my love for it; I only had a couple outfits in my collection as a kid) and I soon started collecting the outfits as well!

I've been really lucky to find most outfits with all the accessories. I don't have the milk and cookies with the nightgown (aptly named Milk 'n Cookies!) and even though you can't see, I don't have the right pillow (I was informed this before I bought it), but I do have the blanket. The Having a Luau outfit is from my childhood pony's wardrobe, but I'm missing the hat. Unfortunately the guitar strap from Rockin' the Night Away is broken, but sometimes I just take what I can get!

It was really difficult to find complete Pony Holiday outfit. Most times it's just the dress and shoes and I can see why since the hat and suitcase are pretty fragile and probably didn't last in many kids' collections. I made the mistake of opening the suitcase (I couldn't help myself!) and heard this terrible crack! It didn't break, but I quickly closed it and will never open it again for I'm sure it will break if I do!

Get Into the Groove was another outfit in my childhood collection, but I didn't have the hairlip (surprise, surprise) and only two socks, so I was lucky to find a complete outfit.

I really love Pony Wear so much - I should start an appreciation thread for it sometime!

Also, I hate to break it to you, but I don't collect baby pony wear - only the adult outfits (minus the ones for Megan and Sundance). I do have a few with the Mother and Baby Pony Wear outfits since they came as a pair. I had the Dragon Suit and Sunsuit outfits in my childhood collection, but only the Dragon Suit survived! And I'm pretty sure I lost the Pocket Pal within the first few months of owning it!
