Fluffy stuff at Primark
« on: October 08, 2015, 02:37:44 PM »
I assume people might already know about this but I'm going to post it anyway as I didn't see a thread.

Primark here in London has some fluffy pony stuff in stock at the moment. I don't have pictures because I don't have resize software on my university PC but there's a very fluffy top and pyjama bottoms featuring Starshine and also fluffy pink slipper socks, also featuring Starshine. Not sure why she's in vogue. I think the one set is £15 and the slipper socks are definitely £4.

I saw them in Marble Arch Primark.

I think Starshine is in because she's a white rainbow pony.  A very nice look to many.

I want to know when we'll see Wind Whistler and Paradise stuff.

Aw, I was just in a Primark not too long ago and they didn't have them in then!

The scalpers already have plenty of them on eBay for nearly double the price. Hopefully they'll be some left when I can get to a Primark next. >.>

Marble Arch had a lot of the slipper socks by the tills...did you check where the queues normally are? They were crammed in with a bunch of others there. I saw Starshine's head in a sea of pink XD.

Boo to scalpers.

Thanks for posting about this Taffeta. I don't have a chance to get to Primark much as I live in Cornwall and have to go to Plymouth for the nearest one (until next year when the Truro one opens!). I was wandering if they would be getting any new pony stuff in this year.

Edit: I just looked in ebay to see what the slipper socks were like - I need a pair of those!

Fingers crossed they are Europe wide! I actually saw the Starshine top stray somewhere in the shop a few weeks ago but it wasn't properly with the trousers or on a hanger so I couldn't really tell what it was. It's way too OTT for me but I imagine it would be quite warm. The slippers though, I only saw this week for the first time.

As for Wind Whistler and Paradise, I don't suppose we'll see anything with them on at all, honestly. Hasbro have a little clutch of G1 ponies that they seem to be using over and over on their merchandising at the moment. Starshine, Birthflower Rose, Snuzzle, Lickety Split, Princess Amethyst and Glory seem to be the in favourites that I've noticed on most of the stuff I've found. I still think Rose is a really odd choice, especially for merchandise sold here where we didn't have BF ponies until line clearance at the end...but Hasbro already proved they don't have a clue what they sold in the eighties several times, so I guess they just picked at random...

Or they were G1 images that they still had copies of the original artwork for.

Starshine is in vogue because she's the best pony. ;) But also probably what Al-1701 said -- though I think she would also be the easiest pony to confuse with Rainbow Bright's horse... maybe Hasbro is aiming for that?

I suppose as Al-1701 said, it's just a good basic colour scheme which isn't too complicated. White/rainbow. She's also a pegasus rainbow pony, and Rainbow Dash is quite popular too. White is less "different" than yellow for Skydancer would be, so maybe that's a part of it too. Though in that instance Sunlight might have been better...

I quite like Starshine being used though. She is always very pretty in pictures and the white/rainbow works well with the pink. I have this weird sense though that she's not the pony on the tag...hang on...ah no, I'm wrong, she is on the FRONT of the tag...but SKYDANCER is on the back (correctly drawn) so I guess we can add her into the "pool of ponies". I think that must make it a Rainbow pegasus thing because of Rainbow Dash.

They've had a few ponies out side of their favorites.  I think Fizzy has shown up on some merchandise.  Gusty has also been popular (they seem to really like white ponies for these).

Technically, Wind Whistler is on the back of the box of The Movie's new release as one of the snapshots is Megan hugging her.

There's a Primark in the town/city I study in and so I pop in there from time to time, I'll have to keep my eyes peeled
