In another post here in the Coral there was a picture of a tent for over a childrens bed. This has me remind of the next:
The tent reminds me off summer holidays at the campingsite we had a trailer!
I had got for my birthday a normal tent and it was set up in the garden and i didn't sleep in it because i was afraid for the dark then. But i used it as a play tent and all of my ponies camped there the whole summer!
Where did you play with your ponies the most?
-
For the most part, inside the house was the main place, but I did take my ponies(or at least some of them) to school with me often to play with on the playground. I have a picture somewhere of me and most of the kids in my class, playing on the playset at school with all the ponies. Its a great picture I really wish I knew where it was... :(
-
Such cute stories! And who wasnt afraid of the dark back then ;)
I played with my ponies everywhere from the sandbox (though I quickly realized they werent keen on sand) to school, my parents are divorced so I knew how to pack ponies. Since the baby ponies easily fit in a regular coat pocket 'starlight' Baby Stella was my constant companion.
-
The backyard was my favorite place to play with them. I constantly took them outside to play, they could go on so many more adventures in the big outdoors. I rarely let others play with them, except my older sister, who had her own so we'd play together. I loved anything to do with horses as a kid and they were my most cherished toys, so I tended not to share them lol. Despite their constant time in the sun, most are still in very good condition, which surprises me.
-
I'm the horrible one who played with them in the bathtub. XD If anyone has ever found a nasty gusty with TERRIBLE rust issues on the inside, it was probably mine. I had a habit of squeezing her in the water too. LOL.
I'd take mine on car rides, to the store (lost one of Wind Drifter's flutter wings in a store). I played with them outside. I remember taking ponies with me while trying to climb my favorite tree. I'd sit on the big branch and play with a pony there. XD
-
I played with my ponies in the garden a lot, and on the landing upstairs as well :)
-
I took mine on the front lawn with all their accessories, & took photos to make my own little storybooks. :P
I believe I still have some lying around somewhere. Oh, the adventures they had, climbing the huge bush & jumping over the baby ferns. xD
I also played with them a lot in the house. I think I was afraid to take them to school in case they got lost.
-
mine were played with in a giant sandbox, mostly. :) The dog would dig these giant holes, and since the ground here is very solid, my ponies always lived in canyons, with rooms and walking paths carved out of the sides, sometimes 3 levels high! haha, I even used to make the walkways with a barrier so the babies couldn't fall off.
I'd spend *hours* using a rock to carve the walkways and caves, a week or more went into 1 'canyon', there'd be hidden rooms with a toy plate 'door' for the babies to hide in, and sometimes I'd get interrupted by the dog trying to help! Looking back, I sure am glad he never tried to chew up my ponies.
I think the worst thing that happened to my ponies though was when my little sister filled up one of the 'canyons' with water...while they were in it! It was a muddy. sludgy mess, with grass and twigs and everything else, took me days to get them all cleaned up.
-
I mostly played with mine in my room. I had a somewhat large bedroom and made "pony houses" all over the place lol. My mother said my room was a mess but i always showed her... "No that isn't a pile of dirty socks...its the baby ponys super cool bed!" lol and things like that
But I also took my ponies over to my friends house who also had ponies and we would play for hours in her basement. But in the summer time, my friend would bring her ponies over to my house and we played with them in the lake in my backyard.
It was really fun "taking the ponies swimming" lol I'm sure a lot of ponies got ruined, scratched up by sand, and even some factory curls trashed because of this. But boy was it fun! lol
-
my seaponies played in the bath with me! :)
-
The short answer is: everywhere!! :P
I probably played with them the most in my room, but I also loved to take them on adventures outside and any place my family went.
-
I played with them in my room. I really don't remember taking them outside much. When I used to go over to my grandma's house. I would play with them under her dining table. I remember putting them all to bed there and making it a nursery for my baby ponies.
-
Never had any ponies, as it was not "normal". Am I a bad pony?
-
I played with mine all the over the house, even in the bathtub! I have this one memory of sitting in the kitchen with my older sister and putting nail polish on the ponies hooves.
-
I'd play with them in my friends' basement, and in their backyard. They had a treehouse surrounded by a garden, and our favourite game was to close our eyes and throw the ponies, and then go and find where they landed. we were talking about this years and later and their dad overheard and said "We'll that explains why I'd find ponies in my garden all the time!" :P
-
I mostly played all over my house, and on my friends front porch. Passersby must have laughed at us for sitting around surrounded by heaps of ponies.
I also took Seaflower out to play with her on the picnic table lots so I could see her hair change color.
-
I played with them mostly in my bedroom. Occasionally, they'd go with me on sleepovers, but not too often.
-
Mostly in the backyard. I usually played on and around the back steps. And in mud puddles. And the pool >_>;
I took them to my grandmother's house sometimes and my cousin and i would play together, usually in the bedroom or in the pool.
-
I mostly played with them in my room. I made houses for them on my bed and on the floor. I always took them with me on vacation and I made houses/cabins for them there too.
-
I played with them in my room or at my friend's house!
I took them to church sometimes! I love playing with them!
-
I have few memories of playing with my ponies :( I'm sure I played with them in the house, and probably the yard as well since we have a big yard. I remember I used to carry a little bag with a unicorn on it that had odds and ends like crystals and broken toy horse saddles and stuff in it, so I can only imagine that I must have taken ponies around with me too.
I do know I took ponies to school though :) My best friend at the time and I would play ponies there sometimes. I remember taking Sugarberry to school one day. I didn't like her...not sure if it was because of her colors or because she was so white and her hair had tight original curl...but I brought her because I wouldn't have minded as much if she'd gotten lost or messed up a little. I remember my friend and I playing with them over by some trees on the playground, and another girl laughing at us and saying, "Haha, you guys still play with My Little Ponies?" Psh :P That was back in 4th grade. If she thought 4th grade was too old for ponies, she should see me now! :silly:
-
Outside in the desert (we lived in Arizona) and inside my great grandparents' house, which is where we lived for a while and when my MLP love was at its strongest.
-
I mainly played with them in my room, but I remember on occasion taking them outside in the backyard to play during the summers.
-
I think my ponies were played with just about everywhere! They lived in my bedroom, where Ponyland was a long worktop that went nearly the length of my room. My Little Ponies had one end, and the Julip horses had the other end.
Occasionally the ponies would venture downstairs to the Opera (behind the sofa in the front room) to play out The Phantom of the Opera. I was a bit geeky about this - as a six year old I would turn the record player on and act the ponies out to the various parts. Masquerade was the Phantom, Fireball was Raul, and Majesty and Strawberry Fair took it in turns to be Christine
Sometimes ponies would go into the vast jungle (my mums plant shelf  ) and sometimes they would go the the woods and the lake - the garden and the pond.
-
I think usually in the house, but also often in the grass in my front yard. Which kind of grosses me out to think back on it, because we had 2 dogs who would obviously use the grass to do their business...
ETA: I also do recall taking some sea ponies into the bath with me. -cringe- BUT! I don't think I ever took normal ponies in. So that's a plus! lol
-
Usually I would play with them in my room. Though I also was one of those kids who put their ponies in the bath lol.
-

I'll one up you, I often took them into the pool!!
I also played with them in the bath (I recall squeezing ponies to get all the water out!) Other than that, I would play with them in my room. I would sit on the floor and line the ponies in a circle around myself. Ah sweet memories
-
I always took some ponies on vacation with me when we went to the beach! It was tough choosing which ponies to bring, but I'm pretty sure I was smart enough not to bring any so-softs. Salt water and sand probably wasn't the best thing for them, but I remember being so excited to get own to the water to build them a huge castle complete with moat and courtyard. I must have pictures of my ponies and their castle around somewhere, I'll post them if I find them!
-
I wasn't much into ponies as a child but the ones I did have were often played with along with the Barbies, so that would have been mostly in the family room. I had a desk set up next to the bookshelves and my Barbies had an apartment that I'd made for them on the desk, while the other toys lived around the desk and on the bookshelves. I have vague memories of Raincurl living on the desk next to the Barbies. :)
-
I used to have a spot next to the fireplace at my parents house where i had a shelving unit and i also built my own dream castle out of lego as we couldn't afford PE or D/C in a million years. And considering where it was located my 300+ ponies never had fizzy hair or melting or anything horrid.
I used to spend hours in that spot reliving the G1 animated series for myself :)
-
Most of my pony playing when I was a child was at my little cousin's house. I have a lot of fun memories playing ponies with her. I didn't play with them at home nearly as much as I played them with her. I saw her a lot more often when I was that age. I never get to see her as much now and I miss her.

Owh that sounds so much fun!! I loveeee The Phantom of the Opera! I have sen in it in a theatre and in the movie theatre!!!
*dreaming of ponies with masks and beautifull period dresses...*
-
I played with them through out the whole house, haha i loved it! :)
-
I played with my Ponies mainly inside the house, either in the bedroom I used to have downstairs or right in the living room. I don't remember taking them outside much, and I can't remember for the life of me if I've ever took any of my ponies to school, to my friend's house or whenever I went to visit my grandparents.
-
I played with them in my bedroom. I think I may have some memory of playing with them in the bath tub a couple of times too.
-
at my elementary school grounds was my favorite place. The willow tree and the forest were perfect places for the ponies to live.
-
Weather permitting, I played with my ponies outside in the sunshine, mostly around the porch. There are times when I walk outside and smell the air, and realize that in my mind I still connect playing with ponies to mild, sunny days.
When weather was bad or my mom asked me to stay in, I'd play with my ponies in our big, unfinished basement. :)
These are such pleasant memories for me. One of the reasons I'm still drawn to MLP today, I guess. <3
-
Oh gosh, everywhere! Mostly the backyard and my bedroom, though I never took a bath without Minty! Poor Minty :)
-
Everywhere!!!
My ponies where well loved!! I played in the bathtub, sandbox. You name it thats prob where my ponies where!!
-
At the top of the stairs. Downwards to the side near the stairs was the downstairs toilet door, me and my friend would swing that open and balance ponies on the top ledge of the door. Then we'd push it shut and see where the ponies landed. I think once or twice, a pony managed to stay upon the door whilst the others landed on the floor. It was so much fun! Occasionally you'd get one landing on their feet.
We'd play adventure good vs evil games in bedrooms using each bedroom as a different valley/land/realm. We'd go in the living room to play pony blind date, using large books as the screens that blocked off the three blind dates and the contestant. When I was on my own, I'd play with the sea ponies in the bath.
-
I played with them in my room.
I played who's mum, because I didn't want them to go with their originals.
And when they got lost....
GIANT ADVENTURE!
-
Ah .. that is tough.. I never owned a real MLP until I was 9 and by then I had slowly stopped playing with the horses... But When I did play with her I played in my room with my friends.. otherwise I played mostly at my friends house with her massive pony collection... I miss it ;w;
-
... the bathtub :yikes: Luckily, my mom was obsessive about draining all the water and none of them are rusty!
I also played with them in the garden, they loved flowers :)
-
I had a big bin with ponies and accessories, and I'd take it wherever I wanted to go. I probably played with them a lot, but what I remember the most was playing with them with my friends at the homeschool meets (I was homeschooled for one of the two years we lived in Hawaii, they had these cool things where homeschooled kids could eat lunch and mess around with other homeschooled kids!) My friend and I loved to play with ponies ^^
-
Bathtub!
Actually, that was just my baby sea pony. The rest I played with in the basement, where most of my toys were. I would build houses and corrals out of blocks and the evil Barbie would knock them down.
Now my neighbor's ponies...they had a pool, so we played with theirs in the pool. And in their basement when we weren't in the pool.
-
In my sister's bedroom mostly (since all the toys were hers, strictly speaking), in forts made from folded over foam mattresses and blankets. Sparkler was friends with Starscream and Optimus Prime and Majesty had a bit of a thing going in what I now recognise as Dream Castle, but was always Autobot Headquarters to me.
Sometimes we'd get the ponies together with her GI Joes and perform cavalry charges across the kitchen table.
-
My best friend as a child had about the same size of herd that I did and we mainly played at her house because she was an only child and they had a bigger house so we could take over the entire living room for our own private ponyland without my younger brothers and sisters disturbing it!
Seashell was the head of the town and she lived on top of the TV with her son "Ember" while the rest of the inhabitants of ponyland lived in families on the bookshelves, end tables and other furniture. For some reason there were a lot of tornadoes so
The sea ponies would take hours long baths, with us refilling the tub numerous times to keep the water warm! And my friend had Sprinkles and the waterfall playset so that got a lot of use as well.
I know I played ponies at home too and my sister had some ponies as well but most of my memories are of playing with my best friend at her house....
-
I mostly played with mine in my room, with the majority of my toys. Sometimes I took them to my grandparents' house though, and because of that, they most likely ended up outside at some point.
I liked them in my room though, especially at night. I was afraid of the dark (still am to an extent) and I always felt a comfort in seeing glow-in-the-dark toys, specifically Star Glow, my Nala with glowing green eyes, and my Genie night light.
-
It is so much fun to read all of your stories!!
I know that i always take my ponies with me when we visited family or friends. In one hand the pink Carry Case with my ponies inside and in the other the Pretty Parlour with Peachy.
-
Mostly my sister and I played with our ponies in our bedroom, but I also played with them in the bath, and outside. :) We'd build little dirt towns for them to gallop around in.
-
I only had one pony as a kid but one of my friends that I played with had a big herd of them as well as those little babies. I would often quietly play for them for hours in her porch while she ran around the yard with her other friend. I was a lousy friend using her for her ponies. >.<
-
In my room, in the bath, and at my cousin's house- and then after I was "too old" for ponies, in the crawl space where they were stored. :)
I must not have taken them outside much. They got messed up other ways (hello, lipstick and nail ponish!), but SS Posey, SS Twilight, Streaky and flower Bouquet still have lovely pink hair. :)
