They are frequent here, like I said, since we live along the ring of fire, so most of us don't worry if it's an M 4 or below. Once it picks up above that, you should watch out for a sec, see if it'll actually progress 🤣

So true, I'm in California, and usually it's just like "Oh, an earthquake....no big deal" for the smaller ones. There is always that momentary question sometimes though of "Wait, it's still going..." or "getting a bit stronger this time... maybe I should start heading for some cover".

EXACTLY!

If it lasts much more than a few seconds, usually a good idea to get out of the way. When we got a m6 last year, I stood there like a dork, waiting to see what happened. My cats ran under the bed and couch and the neighbors ran out of the building. I was scared lol but I was like, woah. 👀

I live in Alaska, where earthquakes are quite frequent. The largest I felt was an 8.1 just last summer. There was tsunami warnings and people had to evacuate the coastal town I was in at the time. Before this, in 2018, we had a 7.1 with the epicenter 10 miles from where I lived. It was worse feeling than the 8.1, because I was closer to it and the soil was different. (The 8.1 hit off Kodiak, so we didn't get the full affect in Seward, up north. But in Palmer and Wasilla, we felt the 7.1...well.) They are frequent here, like I said, since we live along the ring of fire, so most of us don't worry if it's an M 4 or below. Once it picks up above that, you should watch out for a sec, see if it'll actually progress 🤣

Were they loose? I'm just asking clarifying questions so I can research, possibly.

I LOVE COFFEE and caffeine but my body is just responding how it should. I'll let you guys know what it tastes like and if I like it, for those open to an alternative. Being a mad scientist over here, mwhahaha. Anyways. Thank you for your input!

I just bought the starter kit, with hopes that my coffee addiction ceases. There's something about the coffee ritual that is so appealing to me, and the whole lifestyle, too. That hasn't been the best thing for my body since finding out I'm celiac and might have additional GI issues. So, I'm hoping that this stuff is gentler on the stomach. Anyone have experience with it?

I saw this the other day and was like, wow, this is an original idea. I've never read a book other than textbooks about dinosaurs and I'm really intrigued. I'll see if I can back this on payday. I'm really excited to read it!

Off Topic / Re: Any Norwegian speakers here? + language nerd?

I speak Norwegian :) Not so much a language nerd as I am Norwegian though

What about you? It’s not really a common language to learn. Do you have any connections to Norway?

Oh, and just ask if I can help with anything- I am also a teacher :lookround:

Hei! I can read upwards of a B1 level, but speaking and listening are still a bit rough for me. I've noticed it's not entirely that common, because resources are few and between, especially when trying to find a dictionary at the bookstore. I was curious about Norwegian when I was a kid, because my sister had a friend from Norway, and I wanted to learn some of it. But I didn't start till like...four years ago? And now I'm hooked. It's such a pretty language and Frozen feels better watching it in Norwegian. Idk. I'm just weird  :lookround: Edit to add: Do you mind if I message you?

I've been back to brushing up on my Norwegian recently and have a tutor. I was curious: does anyone else here speak Norwegian? Is anyone else a language nerd?

Love the pen!

I...hmm...okay, this might sound weird? But I collect paper plates and napkins. Like l, Fred Meyer will sell holiday or season themed paper plates and napkins and I'll buy some. This collection started more by accident, when a friend gifted me two packages are different Spongebob SquarePants napkins...yet another collection of mine!...and I've just been adding to this hoard since.  I feel kind of ashamed for it. Does anyone else collect paper plates and napkins? Edit to add: I recently added clearance watermelon plates to this collection.

Pony Corral / Re: My 14-year-old has created some Pony infographics
« on: July 06, 2022, 05:24:51 PM »
My 14-year-old is a big MLP collector (G1, G2, G3). Lately they've been creating some infographics to highlight various MLP information. Here are some G3 infographics they've made:

(1) Alliteration pattern in G3 ponies with 2-word names:

(2) A graph showing body/hair color across all G3 ponies:

They have lots more ideas (feel free to suggest some, also!) and would love to get a few likes, or even some new followers :-)

This is super neat! Thank you for sharing!

Charities and non-profits who needed to thank me for donations.  If money was no issue, I would be making the world a better place :)  I wouldn't care about collecting material objects anymore

I'm along these lines, only I'd help animals specifically.
