Introductions / Hello again :)
« on: July 05, 2021, 09:40:44 AM »
Hello :)
I'm a G2 (mostly) collector from Poland. The first time I introduced myself on the Arena was in 2011... 10 years ago. Since then I had been actively collecting for about 4-5 years. During that time Ponies helped me a lot and I thought I could never part with my colorful companions. When I had depression they were the only thing that made me somewhat happy. But since than I can luckly say that some things changed in my life especially my mindset and how I tackle everyday life and so the collecting slowed down and stopped. I moved to other hobbies like for example motorcycle riding ;) Right now I'm in a point in my life where I'm facing a wedding, arranging a new home and a big moveout (oh my!). But before that there was a smaller "move out" where I had to take all the ponies and mostly put them in boxes and drawers due to lack of space. During that I took a closer look on all of them and came to the conclusion that some of them don't "sparkle" for me anymore and that I would be sad for them to sit in boxes when they could bring joy and smiles to someone else. So I came back here to sell some of my collection.
Back when I was and active collector and I had seen posts like mine now I had been thinking to myself: "oh my what happened, how could They sell their ponies?!" ^^' The only thing I have for my defense is that I'm still keeping more than a half of them ;)

So for those who like to read a few words about my collection:
G2 - my biggest love, my first childhood ponies. The core of my collection and I think even when it comes to money problems it will be hard for me to part with them... but time will tell ;) As for now I'm about to sell only 5-6 of them from the over 90 I have. The rest will wait for "The Glass Cabinet" I have promised them 5 years ago... tho they'll have to share space with the minerals collection... not mine.
G3,5 - my fetish. The G3,5 core 7 got me interested in pony collecting when I grew up. One day I decided that I want to have all of the Ponyville Mermaids that got released and almost accomplished it: I had all the playsets, all the singles and almost all of the blind bags - missed only one. But now since they were packed up in boxed I decided to keep only one playset and sell the rest. Still holding up to the core 7 though.
G1 - never a big favourite of mine but the Teeny Tinies, Tropical Ponies and Cutesaurus are a stay :) I sold most of the rest I had already.
G3 - had a few because I wanted to have a pony from each generation. Sold them all.
G4 - started showing up when I started collecting. They where a bit of a compulsive shopping for me. Right now when I looked at them it came to me that I fancy only a few and decided to sell the rest.

So to sum things up I came back to sell almost 1/3 of my collection. Will be posting a sales thread for my G3,5, G4, G1 and few G2. I hope they will find new loving homes :)

Price Check Archives / PC: G1 Daffodil and G2 Pony School
« on: November 22, 2016, 07:29:19 AM »
Hello, I'd like to ask for your help fellow collectors in pricing these items:
G1 Daffodil (grey-light blue body with yellow/gold hair) - very good condition, a crack underneath one hoof (not visible when the pony is standing) and few hair in her tail stuck together
G2 Pony School (I have two of these):
1) Playset is discoloured on one side, pony is in great condition, accessories almost complete, missing: strings from the bell and the skipping rope, green glasses.
2) MIB - new in box, everything was still in plastic bags when I got it, assembled together by me
Thank you!

Trader & Shipping Support / MOC G2 ponies arrived badly damaged
« on: October 27, 2015, 11:43:22 AM »
I don't really know how to start. After being scummed for 70$, having one pony lost in mail now this happens.

Last week I managed to buy on Ebay  G2 MOC Nosy & Click (!). They are VHTF twins escpecially MOC since they were only released in France with a MLP magazine. I "bought them now" for 100$ plus 35$ shipping (International tracked priority). They are worth more then 200$ so it was a very good deal. In the auction they were described having part of the bubble bend. You can see the photos here:
http://i1166.photobucket.com/albums/q613/xelli88/nic1_zpsmxngsqeg.jpg
http://i1166.photobucket.com/albums/q613/xelli88/nic2_zpsblh0rldv.jpg
http://i1166.photobucket.com/albums/q613/xelli88/nic3_zpsyhrwlr0c.jpg

As you can imagine I was over the top happy being the new owner of these two lovelies. Today the package arrived. The box was bashed from the outside but it was not the first time when that happened but I started worrying when I opened the box...
Both the card and bubble were badly damaged: card was bent, bubble was squashed in, creased and started to come of at places.

http://i1166.photobucket.com/albums/q613/xelli88/101_6603%20s_zpsz6peldhb.jpg
http://i1166.photobucket.com/albums/q613/xelli88/101_6608%20s_zpsaeav5tev.jpg
http://i1166.photobucket.com/albums/q613/xelli88/101_6618%20s_zpshj3arxxo.jpg
http://i1166.photobucket.com/albums/q613/xelli88/101_6627%20s_zps68dxjp1n.jpg

The ponies were in few layers of bubble foil and there were airbags in the box but: the box is at least 1cm shorter than the card and it isn't made of a very sturdy carton. The card was placed diagonally having airbags on both sides but still ...

And so I'd like to ask for advice. In my opinion it's the sellers fault (despite the PO being XXXX) for placing the card diagonally in a too small box and I'd like to ask them for a partial refund of 40-50$. The seller has lots of positive feedback and sold other G2 MOC ponies and received feedback saying they were well packaged.
What should I do? Contact them and sort things out, open an ebay case or try to blame the PO? How much of a partial refund would you ask for these ponies? Am I overreacting?

The Dollhouse / Babrbie ID and maybe PC please
« on: October 18, 2015, 04:41:20 AM »
Hello, I'd like to ask you fellow collectors what is the exact name of this Barbie doll and how much is she worth? I have had her since my childhood (the 90s, early 2000s), she has hair which is changing colour when touched with something warm/hot, from dark brown to green and pink. She has posse-able knees and elbows.

Trader & Shipping Support / Probably a scam - MH related
« on: September 28, 2015, 07:31:13 AM »
I (probably) got scammed lately and since it's the first time it ever happened to me  I need some advice about what to do next. But here's the story:

I bought 3 new MIB Monster High doll sets (including even the SDCC set) on our local Polish website OLX (something like craiglist or gumtree). Everything (including shipping) costed around 70$. The seller was nice, kept contact, answered my questions about the eye wonk. She had new adds appearing in about a week so she hasn't shipped my things until Sunday (I asked for the first set on Monday). And on Sunday I see that her account has been banned - this meaning that I can't contact her through the site. That was right after the last money transfer from me (that website discourages money transfers and I was aware of the risk). Than an hour later she creates a new account and makes a new add saying that someone reported her for her prices being too low but everything is alrigh,t all packages will be shipped out on Monday and picking the dolls in person is still possible. I contacted her reminding which items I bought and my address. She said once again she will ship out on Monday (31 August 2015) and that her account has been removed because someone was selling the dolls higher and didn't want her to steal the market. She described herself as a mother knowing how expensive can toys be and wanting to provide them to others for normal prices. Later the same day this new account was also banned.
And so I was left with almost no quick ways to contact her, I forgot to write down her phone number  :pullhair: and the website will provide all of the user data only to the Police. I had her physical address and her bank account number. So I wrote her a traditional letter, she received it on , I have proof. In the letter I gave her my e-mail and asked to contact me. No contact was made so today I sent an another letter giving her a contact deadline till 4 October 2015 and saying that after that date I will go to the Police.
I contacted the website management describing the case but they just advised me to take it to the Police and reassured that they will work swiftly with the Law.

So does this all look like a scam to you? Is there anything more I can do?

Pony Brag Arena / Complete: G3,5 Ponyville Mermaid collection
« on: June 05, 2015, 01:36:51 PM »
Finally the day has come, I reached my goal of having every set of the Ponyville Mermaids line :D
On the 1st of June (Children's Day in Poland) I received this lovely set, which was almost a grail. Great thanks to a member here ;)

Thus I have them all :D counting out the blind bags  there are still a few of them left.
But here's the photo goodness <3

Each set had a little "bead" for a bracelet and a sticker featuring the same marine animal as the "bead". They also had a catalogue to collect them all and paste them on it. It was when I first saw it that made me feel the urge to "have them all" ;) Here are the stickers:

One for each set, and I have like 6 of the little clam shell stickers from the blind bags :P
It was such a joyous view to have them all set up like this :D And my boyfriends expression when he was trying to get to the toilet (I blocked the door with the "storage pony boxes") said it all about the joys of living with a pony collector ;)

Plus I got also in the mail the G4 Fash'ems :D Luckily they're smaller.

It was the best Children's Day in my whole life. Now I know how it feels to reach a big goal in your collecting :D

Trader & Shipping Support / Please give me advice about feedback
« on: May 18, 2015, 12:18:39 PM »
After years of selling and buying on a local auctioning website this is the first time when I'm confused about which type of feedback to leave.
Here's the situation: on 28th April I bought a small Lego set and paid immediately for it. The seller was a shop but still a new member with only 5 positive feedback (no negs/neutrals) and they stated in their auction that they ship out on the next day after payment. A week passed and there was no package so I mailed them. No answer. Second week. I noticed they had some neggs appearing on their profile - mostly about not shipping out the goods. So on 13th May I decided to open a case. After I did that on 15th I got an email that they shipped out the package and on 16 it arrived. In the box I got the set and some extras: a play-doh clay, 2 barbie dresses and a notebook. The value of the extras would meet the value of the Lego set.
And I'm confused between a neutral and a positive. My thinking: if I leave a neutral then it will be because they should communicate with their buyers and if they state that they ship the other day they should do it but I'm vary if that will not crush their good will to make it right by sending those extras. On the other hand if a leave a positive: it will be to acknowledge their good will and that they are a new shop and I give them a credit of trust but I'll also send them an email saying what they could improve in their future transactions. They did something to make it right but they could also tell me about it.[I hope it won't encourage them to scam] Plus I know that some real life problems happen.
So what are your opinions?
