Yellowed Action Figure Treatment

I have an action figure who's white outfit has started yellowing. I heard that this can be restored with some hydrogen peroxide. My question is if I can simply put the whole figure in it. Does it only affect the yellowed parts or will it also affect some painted pieces like the face?

I also readed about applying it with a brush on the yellowed part. Does somebody have more info on how to apply it and how many? And how to store it during the process?
I would like to see some before and after samples!

Im not sure--haven't tried to restore hard plastic pieces back to white before.  Id suggest sun fading--but that's how they probably turned yellow to begin with.
