Has anyone used this stuff for their customs?
« on: March 09, 2012, 08:00:34 AM »
I found this stuff called "activ-clay" at Joann Fabrics, and it seems like its pretty close to Apoxie sculpt. Has anyone ever used it before? (let alone heard of it) I'm debating if I want to spend he 20 bucks on it to try it out, or if I should just order the apoxie and wait. I'm having a hard time waiting on anything right now as is, its the week before finals for me, and my pony projects are helping me de-stress in between study sessions. I'm already going crazy waiting on the new hair I ordered for my old girls who need new do's, I just don't think I can wait for the apoxie to get here too! LOL  :work:

If anyone has tried it, PLEASE let me know what you think!

I'm a little curious to know too! Joanns is one of the few craft stores in town so if this stuff works I think I would like to pick some up.

I know right!? 20 bucks for a 3 pound tub of the stuff isn't so bad, but its WAAY to expensive to just go out on a limb for. I don't want to get stuck with such a huge bucket of crap i can't use if it doesn't work! And the kicker, is they don't sell it in a smaller amount either! BAH!

I'd buy it just to try. But I do that with a lot of stuff :p If you use a 40% off coupon it's only $12...

This. I'm a huge sucker for craft stores, but also like my bank account to be happy, so I'm a big sucker for coupons. JoAnn's also accepts most competitor coupons (Michael's, Hancock Fabrics, etc.) so look around and see if someone else might have a better coupon out there that you can use if JoAnn's doesn't have one, or have a better one. If I had the spare cash right now, I'd wander out and try it for you! Good luck!

Oh, Joann's has a coupon bonanza this week! I know there was at least one 50% coupon. I might give it a shot!

The only review of it that I can find is some teacher complaining about the size of the tub not being enough for his class.

Ha. Thats funny, the whole reason I'm hesitant to buy it is because of the size of the tub!! I might just suck it up and go get some tomorrow...I'm sure I can find something to do with it if its not what I want...
