I used to work for a well known fashion company and this happened all the time. Samples would be made up ahead of a new collection and sent to the distributors. Photo shoots would be done and catalogues made. Then if not enough units were ordered, it would be become what's known as a non-buy. This would be mean that it didn't get put into production (too expensive if you can't meet the minimums) and the customers who had ordered it would have it cancelled from their orders.Sometimes you don't find out about a non-buy until quite late on, so mail order companies etc, would already have prepared their site ready for people to start ordering.
I wonder why she was never released, such a beautiful pony. I wish Hasbro would do more Holiday themed ponies with the G4 line.
