I've seen these videos before, they are very fascinating. Wouldn't it just be the coolest if in the future we could print these out... with hair?? ^^

Very neat. Though i imagine Hasbro will not be too fond of things like these. XD

I have no words to describe how cool this is...only "awesome" :)

Isn't it?  Depending on the cost, I think it would be fun for customizers!  They wouldn't have brushable hair, but think of all the possibilities.
In a sense, you might be able to add brushable hair by having it print a hairless pony with the plug holes and adding in the hair afterwards. I've seen a bit on how these work and they can print bigger than that Fluttershy toy (ventriloquist Jeff Dunham has one and demonstrated it on his "Controlled Chaos" DVD as a bonus) You could probably make one of those large blank ponies that used to be featured for Pony Projects

These are really neat!  I used to be in engineering, and one of our professers had access to one, which he created the handle for a screwdriver for us.  We all created mold frames, used clay, and poured the plastic into the mold once we used the screwdriver handle he made to cast it.  It was awesome!  But, each is pricey.  The handle itself I believe he said took hours and cost $30 to make by itself.  And it wasn't very big.

Shapeways is a website that allows people to sell 3D printed products. There are a bunch of folks making neat custom / semi-custom Pony figurines there!

Gosh! Wow...

Its going to be an interesting area in the future I think...look at how Hasbro recently reacted to a plush maker before they even released a proper plush...if I was lucky enough to have one of these machines to mess around with, I dont know if I would be risking reproducing and selling on actual casts of HBs own characters though - thats sailing close to the wind!
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

You probably could make it work for a pony to rehair though :) I looked at a few other videos that were not pony related but 3d printing related and many of the objects can be hallow. I'd use it to make casting though too XD

That's so cool! I'd imagine it would be pretty expensive to have someone print them out for you.

that is pretty amazing - I don't quite understand how it all works  (though I'm gathering it's cutting/printing each little piece of plastic to form a mold).
