We were going to take the baby to the zoo on Sunday for her birthday, but the weather is looking bad. Now I'm trying to hire the small pool where she goes for her swimming lessons. Failing that, might have to just all meet at Grannie's where there is more room for us to sit indoors. Today was a quiet one, we are both on holiday from work and took the baby out to a small play park near our house.

Ugh, still sick! Couldn't sleep. Had a massive coughing and sneezing attack this morning. It's cold and going to get colder, they are saying the coldest in SW Florida since 2003. I didn't even live here then.

I need to do laundry but I'm so tired.

I'm drinking some hot tea and I'm going to try to sleep again. I can do the laundry later.

Hunkering down during the very active winter storm going on right now. About to make grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch.

It's grilled cheese season it seems, that's what I just had for my (very late) dinner!

Had a two week long christmas vacation and today is my first day back at work again.
Meeeh! I want more vacation!

I was back at work on Saturday, where they forgot to put the heating on and it was freezing. Yesterday it was back to normal - but of course, the non-public facing staff are in the building then, so they wouldn't want to freeze those people, now would they...sigh.

Today I have a day off, but I have a list of chores to do and emails to write.

I slept all day and night yesterday. I got up early, 6-ish and did some chores. Took a nap around noon and slept about 3 hours. I'm hungry now and need to do some dishes.

I'm feeling better overall, but I've still got a cough and gunk in my throat. Plus, they mowed today and my eyes were swollen. Pollen is high right now. It rained the other day, and that's all it takes! Even in the dead of winter.

It's cold and going to be cold for a while. Low is around 40F tonight with highs in the mid-60s. It's from that same storm that hit up North.

I tried to get Aster to try the heated cat bed again, but she just refuses to get into it. She gets afternoon sun in her cubby on the tree and can get warm then, but I know she's cold at night. Her fur gets all poofy and she sits on her feet with her tail wrapped around her. I wish she would at least sleep on a blanket!

Our cat lives outside, it was -5 Centigrade last night. He has grown a thick winter coat. He gets FOMO and comes indoors but then he leaves again after about a minute because he gets too hot. He does sleep under the compost heap though which must be warm.

I had a nice Sunday with everyone at home, we tried to take the baby out to look at the frost but she got in a temper for no reason, even though she was wrapped up. She was a bit unsettled all day but I think she still has some big teeth coming through. She's had a big growth spurt recently. She pushes to get involved in things but doesn't know how because she's so little, so I try to do things she can join in with and comfort her when she gets frustrated.

I'm getting caught up on dishes and I'm about to finally wash my clothes. I'm getting some distilled water delivered so I can use my Neti Pot.

Went straight to bed when I got home from work, slept until 9pm x_x Then conquered the executive dysfunction and went to the store, ate dinner!

We managed to do a small purge in the kitchen and got rid of a bunch of items we don't use. Most if it went into the donation pile but there were also some broken things I tossed, I have no idea why I've been holding onto them.

Yep, I did watch the fireworks but aside from that nothing. It was raining so everybody, including Bakana & I, went straight home afterwards...
I got a second date for my new meter but it was cancelled AGAIN!!! Stop cancelling my new meter fhs!!!
I had snow last week cancelling the Tuesday coffee morning, but last Friday was on & lovely. I got a picture & a card to say thanks for all the sharks I made!!! My tiniest one went to one of the adults who always gives me a little knitted thing she does, so fair's fair. She added a keychain to it & it hangs from her bag!!!
This last Tuesday I went to coffee & due to the snow this was the first coffee of the year!!! Great catching up with folks!!!
Sundays: missing a pal who has moved away. Her prezzie still awaits her...
Last Sunday was all frosty so few folks came
Another coffee pal fell & has a pelvic fracture!!! I hope she recovers well. Falls when you're older are horrid!!! Like when you're young it's no problem & you just patch up the grazes, but after a certain age the bones weaken & are more prone to damage...
Aside from that I've been living off the cash I got for Christmas from everybody, & only two things aside from regular bills have come out of the bank: £15 on more yarn, & £75 for the most recent electricity payment. I should get my first UC payment after the 20th, & from there it should be back to normal...
Why is it so hard for me to get dishes done??? The recycling I need to rinse is piling up too... I get my reluctance to shower when it's frosty & snowy but everything else is like why???
Working through yarn, including the new stuff, on various personal projects
Oh & I did manage to bake a little bread... & make pies out of the leftovers I was gifted. Eaten two of them with two remaining

Got my clothes washed and the bathroom clean. Aster is happy to have clean litter boxes. Got a load of towels to do and some bedding next, but it's not priority like my clothes were.

I thought I was getting over this illness but then I got my period early, so I feel awful all over again. Last time it was horrible so I hope it's not as bad this time. I'm assuming being sick is what caused it to come so early but who knows.
