Title: UK Princess Variant and Greek Butterscotch, advice?
Post by: Tiara546 on March 16, 2017, 12:31:55 PM
Hello all,

this is the last two Nirvana ponies I am unsure about.
First is a UK Princess Variant Sunbeam and second is Greek Butterscotch.

Princess Sunbeam was bought as an upgrade to mine, as mine had very crincled tinsel (which I straightened but it still has a rather used look to it). When the second one arrived though, I noticed her tail is shorter than mine, does not have any original wave and is rather "new" looking. Her hair and tinsel is generally near mint, her tinsel hardly crincled at all. Her head looks sealed to me. Still, there is that difference in tail length and tail hair texture. I finally kept both but am still wondering. Can anyone help?

Greek Butterscotch was bought as an upgrade as well but upon recieving her, her body colour and in result the complete colour scheme looks pretty different. My first one looks much lighter than the new, second one. Again, I am wondering what could be the reason, could it be fading or yellowing? They look so different to me (even more with their different symbol colour due to bleeding) that again, I kept both. Does anyone know more about the background of this?

Ooooo Princesses!

I have a Princess Sunbeam who looks like your first Princess Sunbeam :) she has the longer, fading pink tail.

Both Princesses are genuine :) the oval jewel in the medallion tells me this, as regular Princess Sunbeam has around jewel ;)

I'm not surprised at the shorter, slightly different pink, straight tail. The tail also appears to be thinner as well, or it looks that in the picture.

The Princess variants were made up of the "rubble" that was left over at the end of the line. This is why they are all so mixed up, so to see a slightly different tail hardly surprises me, it's just whatever pink tail was in the pink tail pile.

I owe you an email too :)

The sharpness of your eye is really impressive pkw, I had to dig out the actual pony to compare the red gems from really close. But really, the usual version has a round gem without any egg form included and is at the same time a bit thinner, less protruding than the ones on the variants.

That's true, totally forgot about the email again... must be my bad feeling for time pasing by. :D

With Greek Butterscotch, I'm not sure if it's fading, or just plain old batch differences! Could go either way, but I'd lean towards the latter.

I didn't comment on Butterscotch as I just wasn't sure. Both are pretty though ^.^

hello  :) beautiful butterscotch <3
well the upgrade is the normal regular color version we are all used to see,
the lighter one ,might be a result from sun exposure ,or a combination of recycled vinyl from the el greco factory,
either way your upgrade is stunning , i wouldn't hesitate to let go the other one ;)
i would also advise to be very carefull with butterscotch symbols and not to soak her in water at all ,rather have a q-tip an d clean gently around the area symbols.
congratulations!!! :cheer:

Thank you for posting Miss Violet :) I didn't know that Greek symbols could be damaged by water! That's useful information.

Indeed, thank you a lot! Will be very careful with her. She arrived to me in very clean condition anyway, so I won't touch her with water anytime soon.
Still, I like the colour scheme of my first one better. Will keep in mind what you said but I will for now definately keep both. :)
