Another candy thread, but keeping with the spirit of the holiday.
Easter is coming! April 1st to be exact, isn't that funny? Might want to keep an eye on your sweets this year
My favorite part of Easter was getting a bucket full of candy every year, even when I got too old to hunt eggs I'd always get a handmade basket from my wonderful mother. :)
I know that during the holidays, we often get candy we don't get any other time, so I'm wondering if there's anything your looking forward to getting for Easter, or after Easter when the candy is on sale!

Robins Eggs
Milk Bunnies-Other
Jellybeans
Runner ups goes to jordan almonds and yogurt covered pretzels.

Traditionally, Reese's Eggs were always at the top of my list. Now, I maybe have one per holiday (Easter, Christmas-trees, Valentines-hearts, Halloween-pumpkins). I like the original mini (has to be mini, otherwise too high ratio of crème to chocolate!) Cadbury crème eggs and the Cadbury Mini Eggs chocolates. They made dark chocolate Christmas Snowballs (Christmas version of mini eggs) one year, which has now ruined the regular milk chocolate ones for me. They started my love of dark chocolate. Lo and behold, of course they have not made them since! :pout: I may have one Peep each year even though I LOVED these as a kid. My grandmother would always get the pink bunnies and yellow chicks for me, and we would share them. Other favorites included Sweet Tart Bunnies and Chicks, and Starburst Jelly Beans. Those are the only jelly beans I like anymore.

hopefully getting a forero rocher Easter egg and maybe some MLP eggs :)
-
Cadbury's Easter eggs (I had five before Easter :P)
For Easter I normally get gift cards (Amazon.uk or iTunes)
I'm into Cadbury Creme Eggs.
-
Cadbury eggs.
-
I like Mini Eggs, partly because of their colours but they are tasty as well. Hollow chocolate rabbits are good too. :D
-
PEEPS!
Today I stopped for my annual chocolate splurge - a local chocolate company does "just ears". Literally a bag of just chocolate bunny ears. So yummy.
-
I love the milk chocolate Cadbury mini eggs. Not the kind with that gross goop in the center :P
So far I've bought two of the one pound bags
-
where is the "all of the above" option???
-
Cadbury eggs are winning??? HEATHENS, ALL OF YA!
(I can't stand em!)

I want to share a story.
Have you ever played Chubby Bunny (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chubby_Bunny)?
When I was about 21 some friends and I decided to play this dumb game with Peeps. It was hilarious, great fun. I was doing well and had stuffed a mess of Peeps in my mouth. When I finally couldn't talk anymore, I did a really stupid thing. I ate them.
Marshmallow is just sugar, yeah? And Peeps are sugar covered marshmallows.
It didn't take long for all that sugar all at once to make me horrifically sick. I ended up puking in the bushes. To this day I cannot stand Peeps... they make me nauseous
-
Easter isn't much a holiday for me. The real holiday is the day after which I would refer to as "Discount Cadbury Creme Egg" day  I look forward to that every year <3

I forgot about those! I had some last year. They remind me of Kinder Happy Hippo candies, which are delicious.

For real?! Are they solid chocolate or something? Why just the ears? I am pretty sure that I only received one chocolate bunny when I was a kid and I saved it until it went bad lol.

To be fair, it does not specify whether it is the crème or the mini eggs, just Cadbury eggs lol. When I was a kid, I loved the commercial with the lion and other animals trying to be the Cadbury bunny. I wanted to try a crème egg so bad because of this commercial. I finally did, and I didn't like it at all. It was one of the regular sized ones. To this day, I only like the mini crème eggs because there is a more even ratio of crème to chocolate.

I have heard of this but have never wanted to play it. Just the thought makes me nauseous.

Haha...nice.
Other favorites around here are Chippers which are chocolate covered potato chips from a local chocolatier. Year round yummy! I used to get jealous of my cousins' candy at Easter because they always received that egg-shaped gum that would come in a mini egg container that I thought was the cutest thing. Turns out the gum is actually horrid. They would also get chocolate "tacos" from Widmans, the chocolatier that makes Chippers. It was a chocolate covered hard taco shell with various chocolates in it. Turns out that isn't that great either lol.

Ive got to be careful due to food intolerances. I will grab the odd peep package even though its got stuff I react to ^^'
There are specific gummies and jellybeans that are MA safe that are to die for ^^ Super expensive (organic, free of top 10 allergens...you know the usual) but I only get them once or twice a year so ^^ Theres also a brand of chocolate that doesn't have soy as an emulsifier.
Oh! Rolo of all things is relatively safe...go figure.
I will sometimes cave and get chocolate filled with a fruit filling but its rare

Seriously? That's kinda funny and kinda weird.

Cadbury's chocolate is good old Midland chocolate from the UK. Of course it's winning! <---bias ;)
I don't actually know if the stuff I think of as Cadbury's is the same available in other countries. I just know the company is old and originally British, I went to uni as an undergrad really near where the factory is. I actually come from the same city originally (though I don't live there now). :D
I googled it and apparently there was some furore over in the US some years ago with British Cadbury getting shot down by Hersheys or some such thing, so maybe the stuff you guys have is different? I dunno.

I find Cadbury's creme eggs are revolting. And the advert campaign about hunting them down or whatever stupidity it is each year is also annoying. So yeah. If those eggs, not a fan. If just the chocolate, then it's fine. Cadbury chocolate is fine.
I like dark chocolate best, so I usually have a dark chocolate egg. Thorntons, last year.
I like European chocolate. It's generally pretty high quality. UK chocolate is not too bad either, depending what else is in it (ie the icky creme of creme eggs :><:). Not such a fan of sickly sweet chocolate like the stuff Kinder put out in their chocolate bars (the eggs are fine though. And I really hate white chocolate in all forms (it's not even really chocolate. I learned that from a chocolate museum in Brussels!) So no white chocolate for me. But I am not overly fussy about milk or dark chocolate. I like chocolate orange as well (though less with other fruit).
Last Easter I was in Japan. Sadly Japan doesn't really do Easter, so not so much on the egg front last year. Japanese chocolate is pretty good though.
I haven't tried most of the things in the poll, guess we don't have them here...but I'm not a huge fan of American chocolate. I do like Oreos, and some other US snacks we have here, but the chocolate on its own tends to be a bit sweet for me (same problem I have with white chocolate).
-
Tbh I'm not a chocolate kinda girl. I prefer fruity, sour or creamy candies.
-
The only Cadbury egg I'll eat are the caramel ones, the cream just taste's wrong to me, and even the caramel ones I don't like much. I do like some other Cadbury products, like the cookies, I just can't get behind the egg craze :bunny:
-
Ha! I just found those rabbit ear candies! I had to grab a bag!
-
Other!
My stomach isn't cooperating right now.

I'm thinking of the Wreck-it Ralph 2 trailer now... LOL "Bunny gets the paaaaaaancake!"

Cadbury is, in general, one of my very favorite chocolates, so I usually get plenty of Cadbury chocolate in various forms. But this year I discovered something wonderful: Lindt Chocolate eggs! This might be the first year they made these, since I've never seen them before? Anyway, they're my new favorite. I love Lindt Chocolate Truffles, and the eggs are like large truffles.
-
Lindt and Anthon Bergs easter chocolates for me.
-
Cadbury Eggs
Reese’s Eggs
Other — Cadbury Mini Eggs. They’re the ones with crispy candy shells with chocolate inside
-
Reese's Eggs for sure! :)
-
Kinder eggs are my fave. But now, I avoid any treats with gluten, dairy, and soy... so I guess pure organic chocolate for me!
-
My parents love the marshmallow eggs and I've stocked myself up on sale candy of normal stuff. I've noticed the normal candy tends to go on sale while they push the new holiday stuff.
