I have been working on a dollhouse for my tiny "Catsy" Ball Joint Doll. It's been a lot of fun! Here are a few pics of the progress, just keep in mind I am not yet finished. There is more trim to do for the house and roof as well as the shingles! Oh, and there is a bay window I need to attach too.

The house is actually a lot further along since this was taken. I have the windows done and some of the trim for the gables.

I've already done most of the inside, as you can see. ;) I do now have a couch instead of the rocking chair in the living/dining room. I still need to finish the kitchen and get some bathroom furniture. The bathroom is the tiny room on the 2nd floor next to the bedroom. You can also see a little bit of my Catsy doll in the bed!

This is a better picture to see my anthro Catsy girl. I have named her Angelina. <3

Anyway, I'd love to know if anyone else here is into dollhouses! Or even just making rooms out of boxes or shelves! :)

Wow that's looking great! I don't own any dollhouses but I love looking at them. It's amazing what details people can put into them.
-
That's an awesome dollhouse!
-
I don't own any dollhouses, but I love them, and definitely would like to own one someday. I was actually thinking about making one a few days ago, and what it would look like. I just really like all the miniature stuff.
Also, that is a gorgeous doll!
-
That is a really neat dollhouse :D I love your doll too, she is gorgeous!

Thanks everyone!
The dollhouse is the Orchid kit from Greanleaf. I have enjoyed making it so much! One day, when I have more space and more money, I want to make one of the larger kits. Not the biggest, but something with at least a few more rooms to decorate. ;)
Eventually I plan to add some lights. I found out they make little battery operated lights for dollhouses, so no wiring required!

NightWing - Thanks! She is a tiny anthro from Elfdoll in Korea. They have males too and a few different colors/head styles.

Dollhouses are my vice!
I have a Duracraft (company has since disbanded) Linfield from my childhood that's getting lights and a make over and a Greenleaf Willow that I am in the process of turning into Madeline's 'Old House In Paris'.
Greenleaf has its own dollhouse forum. You should check it out. The forum itself can be kind of slow, but I love to look through other members' galleries for decorating ideas!

That's beautiful. I would love to have a doll house for my rose petal dolls. I always thought that Rose Petal's watering can was a bit too small and there was seemingly no way for her to get onto the roof/patio, yet that is supposedly where she sang. lol. Maybe you could make some money making custom doll houses for people.

Wow, the house looks fantastic! I love seeing how other people set up their dollhouses. I have one, but it's not from a kit, my grandfather is a carpenter and he built it for me when I was young. I still have it though, and all my Pullips and MH girls live in it, haha.

How big is your Catsy doll?
-
The Catsy Doll looks cute!! :)
And yes. I also like dollhouses.
I've still my dollhouse from my childhood which was made by my grandpa.
I will share pics soon.
-
I love dollhouses. :) My dad built me one for my Barbies and I was heartbroken to find that it had probably been thrown out.
Your dollhouse looks lovely! I wish I could have one for my MH girls.

How big is your Catsy doll?
She is about 5 and a half inches tall. <3

Here is a recent photo of the outside of the dollhouse:

There is actually still a good bit left to do, more trim and the shingles. But is it coming along nicely!
-------------------------
It would be nice to make dollhouses to sell, however they take a lot of time and money to make. In order to make any reasonable profit it would cost a great deal more than I think most people would want to pay. :P
I'd love to see pictures of dollhouses you guys have! Please do share. <3

Here's an old pic of mine...I don't have most of these dolls anymore, lol. In fact, I think I only still have 3 of the ones in this pic XD You get the idea though - it has real shingles, wallpaper, carpet/linoleum flooring, glass windows...I LOVE it

But, you get the idea. When I get my Christmas decorations back into storage, instead of stacked up in the living room, I'll have to take an updated pic!

wow those are wonderful dollhouses. My childhood dollhouse was the built in shelves in my closet. It was for my Barbies, I made the furniture from tissue boxes, wire spools and such. I played with it for hours. It is my someday wish to build a dollhouse. Once I have some grand-daughters I know I will. LOL

I think that your Catsy may be about the size of my rose petal dolls! I may have to make them a house if I ever have time and money again!

Wow, that's really, really good :)
It makes me want to get my bottom into gear and start building mine :)
-
Heh, it is a lot of work! And it is hard for me since I also have a full time job. But I get a lot done on the weekends, and some weeknights I will do something for the house. I figure that any progress, no matter how small, is still progress! <3
I do someday want to do a larger house. Someday when I have more space and more money!

I have a dolls house that I am customising into a copy of a real house from a fave childhood storybook. Sadly I cna't get into the garage to get all the tools and stuff, but when I start cutting out doors and windows and wiring it and etc I'll figure out how to post pics! I have always wanted one like it, and also a Japanese Dolls House since I was about 6. One dream at a time, methinks!
