What the heck is this...G1 electronic something or other...

I got this thing in a lot recently.  I have no idea what it is!  It's some kind of electronic thing, and it actually still works- there's a little fan at the bottom, though it doesn't blow much air.  It sure makes a lot of noise, though.  Maybe an electric toothbrush of some sort?  Anyone seen one of these before?
