Sunfading Mexico Ponies
« on: April 14, 2012, 07:10:48 AM »
Hi!  Has anyone tried sunfading Mexico Moondancer?  Mine isnt very white.  I was thinking about trying to sunfade her but I dont want to make it worse.  I know some ponies will get even darker in the sun.  Any ideas?

I am sunfading one right now, but it was not because she needed whitening. She has a few spots that needed to go away ;)

I was going to try sunfading my white mexi peppermint crunch, would be interested to hear if anyone has had success with a similar pony... How long does it usually take to see results?

I hope her spots go away!  I gues if she hasn' t gotten darker that is a good sign!   Perhaps I will give it a try...

I did :)
tried to get her a bit whiter. Didn't do much good though, but also didn't harm her at all :)

I've sunfaded some pen marks on a Mexi Bow Tie and worked great =)  (just need to give her a good cleaning now...  have some weird encounter with the floor that left dark marks on her face...).

Willa, with the white Sundae Ponies I've never have luck, I don't know if it's the plastic, but they're always that creamy color, doesn't matter how many months they are on the sun *sad*, not how many times being cleaned with oxygen peroxide -.-

Dyzarktarzk, this is what I was thinking, it must be the type of squishy plastic and as you say I think that just is their colour and I don't mind at all as I love that set : )
I might try and sunfade an ink dot off my swirly whirly and see if it works, thats if we get any sun here in the UK...

Sunfading for mark removal on Mexicans seems to be fairly successful (even I've done  it, lol), but I'm not sure if it would whiten her or not.

Yup =)

It's more the plastic's color on them, because with Baby Quackers he's way more white, but with Baby Surprise he's between white and the creamy color (actually... I should try sunfading a pink mark on one of my Swirly Whirly's ear...  have to put him on the sun).
