Mine was also Windy :D My mother apparently saw them in BHS before Christmas 1984 and thought them so pretty that she bought me one :)
I remember her having the special brush with the star label and the comb so I kept them in a separate thing for a long time. I also remember giving her a shower in an easter egg box when I was about three. I didn't totally take up with MLP after having her, though - I had Baby Blossom next, which got me more interested, and then it gradually grew from there.
Windy still lives with me. She has never stood up properly, so she used to wear either a pony outfit shoe or one of Majesty's most of the time. She is now a lot more beige in places. Her tail is loose and rattles, but overall, she's withstood time quite well.
She can be seen in this picture :D right in the middle.

One day I would love to have one mint on her (UK, of course) card.
Oh, great question! It's interesting to hear about everyone's ponies.
My first was Glory. I got her as a birthday present. I remember picking her out at the store myself. I chose by backcard story and I recall Moondancer kind of alarmed me. Skydancer was either 2nd or third... but I wanted her because of my lack of flying ponies. Plus, she had pink eyes. I don't know. In those days, that mattered. Bubbles was my sister's first and only pony. And Blue Ember was the first baby pony I ever saw in person and I could not get over how cute she was. She became a pocket pony.
That’s so cool that you have photos of you and you ponies streawberry sweets!
Thanks! Glory actually has big blue blobs where her stars are suppose to be. The silver rubbed off and little me tried to fix her. :blush:Oh, great question! It's interesting to hear about everyone's ponies.

Lol, I had to look up Moondancer’s backcard story... I admit, having a friend who could put you under a hibernation spell every time you upset her would be kind of frightening.
Aww, I love that you still have your childhood ponies (and that they’re still in such great shape!). :)
I looked through my stuff and I can't find any really old photo of me with Windy. As I said before, the one that kicked it off for me was the second pony, Baby Blossom, with all her accessories. Also she and Windy used to be mother and baby in my mind back in the days before I realised Blossom was a whole other pony...
I found this photo though :D It's cropped, my mother and my gran are also in the original image, and I think I'm about four...apparently baby B is coming on an adventure :D

Mum and Dad were both quite influential on the ponies I had really early on. The pastel ones tended to come from Mum's inspiration and the bold ones from Dad. She chose Windy, and she also chose Baby Blossom :) For some reason she really liked the ponies, so when I wasn't immediately hooked on Windy she decided to give it another shot when she saw the babies with their accessories. I believe she chose Blossom deliberately because she would somewhat match Windy's colouring.
...And the rest is history :D
Sorry for the off-topic, but I love your avatar, Partlypastel! :D(Thanks, I made it myself ^^)
On-topic: I'm not the thread starter, but I love reading all these stories. ^.^
It was a G3 Good Morning Sunshine and it is a strangest expirience of my life ever XD
~2006. I'm don't a kid and I don't playing with toys. Usual i be a serious girl - classic wear in black-grey colors and strickt eye... But this commercial hypnosed me. Something is wrong... Why i think about pink pony?! P-o-n-y. Srsly? It confused me, but everytime when i hear this sound on TV i go to the room and look, look on this cute pink nose...
I bought it and my life is never be like before. Now I'm still a serious girl, but around me SO MUCH colorful, rainbowfied and bright little noses. XD
P.S. Good Morning Sunshine is in good condition and has special place in my collection. (:

Windy!
Windy!
We need to start a Windy First Pony Club :D You, me and LAW so far :D
My first pony is a G3 pegasus named heartbright. She has a big heart in her hip that you can press to make her huge purple wings flap. After researching her pics online, I found out I lost her hair clips and tiara. Too bad she is in bad shape now. Thats probably because I would take her anywhere and she was stored in a musty shelf with my other toys. Her pristine white body has become yellow and sticky to touch.
My very first pony was this lovely gal!

Sadly my dog at the time (chihuahua-greyhound mix named Bella) chewed her up:(
I eventually ended up losing everything else from the set...
As for the first one that i still have, she's a pretty baity Heartthrob. she has two giant gashes in her front right hoof, and one of her ears is bitten off.
I remember getting my first ponies in the store. I got windy and applejack! I am 100% sure my first girl that i picked up was windy; because i originally thought her symbol was waves and not wind  (this was until i looked at her name after i left the store). I also recall them wearing their ribbons over their necks because i loved daphne from scooby doos scarf and of course i wanted them to be as amazing as daphne :P
Kimono!! I was two when I got her, right around g3 was released! I was actually playing with her when I said my first full sentence, which was "My Little Pony" ;)
