Is it the cooler weather? Changing leaves? Halloween? Pumpkin spice? :leaves:
The leaves don't change where I live. The grass turns brown... that's about it. The weather does get better. We are very dry right now and the humidity and dew point are low which makes the mid-upper 80s feel quite nice. It is hurricane season too though, so that's not fun.
I've only tried pumpkin spice coffee once, and didn't like it. It was a generic brand. I would like to try the full experience at Starbucks though. I do like pumpkin and allspice, anise, nutmeg; all those flavors. I made homemade pumpkin soup once, from a real pumpkin! I had to add "pumpkin pie filling" (which is sweet potato and not pumpkin at all) but it turned out very yummy. I always enjoyed carving pumpkins for Halloween but haven't done it in years. I would bake the seeds and salt them for a snack :)
Halloween is my favorite holiday :blackcat: I love the decorations and haunted houses. There is a part of town that decorates the entire area and each house does a display that is super intense. Most of the houses are open to wander through, so you can see the inside décor too. Some are haunted houses that have scares. Part of the neighborhood is kid friendly but there is a 16+ area too, with more gore and serious scares. Almost everyone dresses up and adults get candy too!

I love the cooler weather and the colors. It’s my favorite season. Halloween is fun too. I prefer decorations and experiences that are more cute/eerie than gory.
I also look forward to the thunderstorms.

When it comes to fall, I like everything about Halloween plus the changing of the colors on the trees...
-
Fall's my favorite season! Primary reason is that it's not too cold (I like spring whether a fair bit too with it being warm and not too hot, but I get allergies more then), but I also love the aesthetic of the fall leaf colors, and Halloween being my favorite holiday helps too. It's a nice season!

The weather getting cooler (Texas heat and humidity SUCK), and the Halloween decorations!! We don't get a beautiful transition to fall down here, it just rains a lot and all the leaves fall lol

That summer is finally over.

Yes, indeed!

The weather is just perfect!
The beautiful colors of fall.
Halloween and spooky scary skeletons
And pumpkin is my favorite flavor.

Burning scented candles
wearing knee-high boots with sweeping, long skirts
tailored long coats
atmospheric mist & fog
the scent of fallen leaves
collecting conkers! (horse chestnuts)
harvesting hazel nuts in the wild
fireworks
dewy cobwebs
dark evenings illuminated by colourful lights
snuggling in fluffy blankets
the build-up to Yuletide!!
:)

Halloween! I can like dark and creepy stuff and people don't judge me (as much)
Also the weather. Where I live, summers are baking hot, winters are freezing cold and "springs" are a 50% chance of either, so fall is the best time of year here for going outside and doing stuff, I love it!

Does having both the AC and heating turned off count?
I will miss the sunlight. And I hate seeing the garden go. But around here, this is the best time for my evening walks. Infrequent rain, no snow or north winds, and not coming home feeling like a walking swamp. Just nice crisp air to breathe.

Ripening fruit & colourful leaves, deffo xxx

All bugs return to the 9th level of hell..

The changing leaves, less sunlight, and RAIN. so much rain..haha
-
Warm days with crisp, fast breezes
Beautiful trees that change colors
Halloween

I know I'm probably in minority, but I actually love fall the most not in its stylized, orange-tinted, Instagram version that is so popular recently, with checkered blankets, cups of cinnamon spiced pumpkin latte and brown/yellow leaves used as a bookmark in a vaguely vintage looking book, but instead in its more gray, dirty form, with bare branches against overcast sky, puddles everywhere rippling in the wind and the scent of car fumes in cold, wet air, it makes the whole world look so gloomy and mysterious.

I can respect that. That's how I feel about winter, which isn't much of anything here, maybe some frost on the grass in the morning and chilly days for a few weeks. But where I grew up, the winter sky in the city was always pink at night and I know that scent of fumes you're talking about. Dirty slush on the sides of the road, bitter cold that hurts if you breathe in too quickly, the crunch under foot. Ahh, memories.

Yess I love the changing of the color of the trees Too & Halloween candy!!
-
Hoodie and soup weather. <3 autumnal flavors are so rich and cozy.
-
We are having such nice crisp fall weather today! It's so windy and lovely. Went for a walk.
I kind of miss playing WoW in October. Lots of spookiness and fun things to do.
-
I like the colours. The changing colours and the way the plants share that with the world. Also seeing the cyclamen come back in the garden, because the way they put up their leaves is funny.
That is literally all I like about autumn though, and that side of it generally ends in October here. It's a bit hit and miss right now, but November is a horrible, wet and gloomy month in general, brightened only by fireworks around the 5th and then Christmas stuff towards the end. My sister has her birthday in the middle of November, too, but for the 2nd year running she won't be here with us for it so...yeah.
My family don't have a tradition around Halloween so that's not so much a thing for me.
Plus the clocks change this weekend and I hate that with every fibre of my being. This year I actually had a formal diagnosis of vitamin D deficiency, which explains why I become a useless zombie the moment the clocks change and have to try doubly hard to do anything meaningful for the next several months together.
I don't have S.A.D. I just don't function well in the dark time of the year, and the UK is only pretty up till around now. The worst is still to come, and winter is generally just as bad, unless it's broken up by a bit of pretty snow...
So bring on the spring :)
-
My favorite thing is... that it is autumn. You know how many people come to life during Spring, well I'm the complete opposite. I become much more cheery as summer ends and we progress toward winter. Autumn just makes me happy! The weather gets nicer and the bugs disappear. It's much more pleasant to spend time outdoors, especially in the late autumn and winter.
The leaves are also really pretty. Not so much this year so far. =/ It stayed hot far too long and the some of the trees actually lost leaves before turning pretty because earlier this week was so windy. Hopefully we'll get some pretty trees, as there are still plenty left.

My Seasonal Affective Disorder goes away! mine is opposite from everyone else on this planet, I get super depressed in the summer.
-
What isn't there to love about the autumn season??
BIG blankets and sweaters, cardigans, warm ciders and coffees, the beautiful colors in the trees, pumpkins, bonfires...I could go on and on!
