To Rehair or Not to Rehair (G3 and G1)

Where I live there is fierce pony competition, every time I get to the car boots all the ponies are gone and I am sure it is the same person every time 

But today, my luck turned, I was up and out of the door by 7.00am and I got there to find Cherry Blossom III, Mochanut, Skywishes, Wind Drifter, Starcatcher, Sew and so, Bumblesweet, Lickety Split, Wedding Pony.

I am so chuffed and I only paid £5 for them all, only problem is.... they are filthy and ALL have haircuts and or tailcuts! So, should I rehair them? I know they are not that valuble, but at the end of the day, I'm either going to keep them or sell them on to a new home, so should I rehair them? I realise Mochanut is worth more than the others as she is rarer, and she only has a tailcut and mild mane trim, so should I just give her a new tail? Her body shape is pretty good with no cancer bites or chews.

So what would you do? rehair or not to rehair?

Hmmm... In my opinion, if you had to do just one, go for Skywishes. She was released eight times in the same pose... she's pretty common

I´d rehair only the ones you are planing to keep

I hate to see perfectly good ponies go to waste if their only problem is a hair cut.  Plus you don't have to rehair them in their original colors if you plan on keeping them.  Get crazy and give them a new identity!

Bait them G1s are the only ones I bother to rehair since they usually just have one or two colors in their manes and they are older lol

Depends how bad the haircut is...personally, if it's just a trim and doesn't look bad/too short, I'd leave it. But I also don't really collect G3s, so maybe people who do would feel differently.

The market is way oversaturated with G3's right now, and probably no one is going to pay for a rehaired G3 when they can buy a brand new mint one for $3-4. For the cut G3's, I would not bother to rehair them, I would sell them as baits.

Ok, I've been quite lucky with G3 sales really considering the market for G3's is poor, I will probably bait them then ! x

Depends how bad the haircut is. Original hair should be retained on ponies if its not too bad. Ponies are not automatically bait if they have a good amount of hair left.

Which wedding pony do you mean? G1 or G3 Wind Drifter? The G1s should be left if they aren't butched down to practically nothing and you plan to sell them. Let the person who wants to keep them decide.

G1 wedding pony, I am not doing anything with the G1's, I am going to leave the G3's too now. I don't think I should do anything except clean them up, no matter how bad the haircut! xx

I'd rehair G1's and preferbly with 'real' pony hair if it's only a couple of plugs. G3's aren't the uncommon so I wouldn't be bothered rehairing them. Selling them as bait is the faster and cheaper option, and you make a lot of people happy with bait as well as they don't have to mangle good G3's ;-)

On G3s I would rehair because only the really rares have anything other than retail value...so as long as you are planning on keeping them and the hair is unfixable I would rehair...if you are selling them you may prefer not to rehair as buyers may have a different opinion!
