Or you will get a horse who cannot be re-headed.

It is indeed quite tough to put it back in place but I have succeeded and I know many people have! Try softening the plastic of the body with hot water maybe?

I've customized fashion style g4's as well, and I didn't have much trouble putting their heads back on.

That's a common plug type in every generation, and some are easier than others to pop back in (G2s are a nightmare for me; their plastic is so hard!).  Softening them with hot water will work well, but you can also try carefully slicing off the edges of the plug to make the thick part at the base smaller.

yep. haven't worked with a FS yet, but ive done a few standard brushables. im assuming its the same plug style? if so it helps if you cut out a few 'wedges' from the plug so itll be easier to click into place. gives the plug a bit more flexibility. so between that and softening you should be good to go. =]

I've never done a FS pony, but I basically just set the head with a hair dryer on it until it's soft.

I heat the neck plug up with the hair dryer :)

I've never done a G4 before, but I agree it looks like a standard plug, and I know there are tons of customizer a here that can give advice. I heat neck plugs with a hair dryer as well, sometimes if that doesn't work I gently grab a part of the plug with my needle nose pliers and work it in. You have to be careful doing thy and slow, or you will cut into the plug.

I run my FS's plugs under hot water, or hold them in the steam over a boiling pot of water for a minute to soften the plastic. You still have to push hard and be careful not to ruin any paintwork, but it's doable!

I just cut out a small wedge or two in the plug.  When you go to insert it in the neck, that will allow part of the plug to "fold" inward, letting the remaining lip slip inside with less force.

Exactly what I do on ponies of all gens (except the little g4, which I just make several slices in the neck hole).

I think the Fashion styles are easier to handle with than the normal brushable ones ;-)

Thirded!  I won't mess with any pony neck plug without a few good wedges cut out!

I'm horrible, I just chop the neck plug off then glue the head back on directly. Obviously the head can't move anymore, but hey, the pony is in one piece now! .////.
