Hi guys, a few people know that for 2 weeks I went on a very strict diet, well here I am nearly 4 weeks down the line and on consolidation and.... in total over the 2 weeks and a few days lost 5.6 kilograms! I have kept all of this weight off as well. I'd like to mention that I was on the verge of being overweight, and now I am happy, extremely healthy and I have got vitality back in my life. Even better, I am learning what affects my IBS, I can eat as MUCH as I want of food and I have completely cut sugar out of my life. I eat stevia as an alternative and it is 40X sweeter than sugar. Last night I ate my first proper pudding, (I ate grapefruit, strawberries or an orange for 2 weeks) I made my own vanilla panna cotta. This means I can now have milk and cream and my body accepts them! Yaay! I also tested eggs in an omelette and my body accepts eggs as well, yay for extra variety! Basically, the reason my doctor and I agreed to put me on the diet is because I suffered with IBS for 9 years and very severely last year, and the diet is an elimantion diet where you test foods for reactions so you know what will trigger IBS. I appreciate food so much more now, I feel superb, my skin is glowing and fresh (Teenagers including me ususally always get spots- they were awful!) and my hair is stronger, stays cleaner longer, and internally I feel revitalised.
I even had a piece of dark chocolate, and so far so good. I just wanted to share this with you, as I am so proud of myself and want to give a huge amount of love and thanks to people who have supported me (and thank you mum!)
If you'd like to know what diet it was, or how well it worked, I will happily tell you! I plan on feeling this good for years to come!

SUPER CONGRATS! I have severe IBS myself, and it's been all my life. It's caused by an intolerance to gluten and dairy. Buuuuut, I can;t live without my grains and dairy, I would go insane, so I live with the consequences instead. And yes, I have tried cutting them out. I did it for 6 months, and it toootally worked, but I had terrible cravings and sweats and I always cheated and ugh. Too much to handle. So, congratulations on having the willpower that I don't!

xKelpiex - It's not just all about willpower, that's how I managed to get through it, and I bet you could live without gluten and dairy- I cannot tolerate wheat so I have wheat alternatives although I cannot re-introduce flowers, oats, nuts or grains until week 4 (2 weeks time) and you don't want things that you know are bad for you as often as everyday you live on the finest fillet steak, chicken , spinach and cucumber, obviously you can have other things but you need to consult the book of the diet that I was on so that you can know what is and isn't acceptable.

Huge congrats on the weight loss!

Im actually kind of opposite of you right now.  I have severe IBS but its combined with a few other things (that we both know and dont know) that prohibit me from eating 99% of everything...so im loosing weight without wanting to.  Hopefully eventually ill have the same success as you, as far as finding things I can have without the severe reactions or actually getting sick.

Have you kept a diary of things? I find that that usually helps

Melodys_angel: Thank you, and I'm very sorry you are also a sufferer of IBS, I did keep a diary of everything before I started and wheat is a problem for me, but I am also keeping a very specific diary whilst on the diet and consolidaiton.
Emuel: Thank you! It's hard to explain, but you are only allowed 2 pieces of fruit a day whilst on the diet, I used the first piece as a breaktime snack, and the second as my dessert :) xxx
