Anyways as cute as the Polly Pocket theme is, it doesn't look like there are any brushable offerings for this year, confirming my suspicions that brushables have been phased out entirely for molded mane action figures and LOL Surprise rejects mini figurines. Looks like my pony collecting days are over, I'm not interested in any of this stuff. If Hasbro would continue putting out products of similar quality to the Fashion Style Izzy and Sunny I would have gladly continued collecting G5 stuff but this? Yeah y'all can keep it.

Yeah for sure. Initially it seemed like things would be fine but I very much dislike how we see a molded hair pony being shown in the photo for the playset. Really hate that.

Exactly! I have no problem with molded hair ponies, but they should not be the entire focus of the line. They are the appetizer, not the main course. A pony ain't a real pony unless it's got soft brushable hair that comes with a cute (preferably pink in my taste) comb. But that Pipp singing doll that was shown off and the fact that these new ponies look like playsets and not individual singles gives me hope. We should know more soon, G5 will be hitting shelves in August so we'll probably hear more by Mid July.

Not sure about EQG, but I more or less follow the instructions in the DerpyDerp910 video about defrizzing. I just use a straightening iron instead of a curler.
This is for what I think is Poly hair? But I've used similar methods on nylon as well. I think EQG will have either poly or nylon.

Thank you! I'll test this method out! I have some spare Pinkie and Twilight's for both pony and EG's I'll be willing to use as sacrifices test subjects. I'll take before and after pictures once everything is sorted out.

I know someone somewhere else brought this up but I find it hilarious how after all the discourse surrounding Applejack's very existence, discussions on why orange ponies don't sell and the brief "no earth ponies" scare we had after a fake leak detailed there wasn't an earth pony amongst the main cast, we have an orange earth pony with a pony tail at the forefront of the new generation as THE main character. Words cannot express how much I love that.

These do seem aimed at kids though. That's something at least.

I'm glad it's looking that way. Hopefully this will be the death of the disturbingly graphic side of the MLP fandom, I saw a tweet a few minutes ago that had screenshots of the infamous disgusting MLP fan forum where we got leaked info of the G5 pony names (if you know you know) and they seem to be HATING G5, so great sign! I also hope that the movie and subsequent series are appealing to children and families of all ages without pandering to older audiences like late FiM did. I hope they realize that this franchise is for children first, everyone else is just along for the ride.

The event will available to watch to the public! It starts at 10 AM EST tomorrow morning. Also, this event has been described as Hasbro discussing their upcoming plans for media and toys, so it's not gonna be a boring numbers report, they already did one of those earlier this month. So we're getting a HUGE flood of news tomorrow.

Oh yeah, these definitely gave me Disney Junior vibes. The pegasus is so cute! I can't wait to pick her up!!! It's worth mentioning the movie is going to be in 3DCG, so these are not the big reveal designs we were expecting on Thursday. Also, CGI movies with large amounts of merchandise sometimes have a separate style guide for 2D versions of the characters that aren't as detailed as their 3D counterparts, for example Frozen:

Anna and Elsa look a bit muted compared to how we all know and love them. So I'm holding out hope that they look a lot cuter in 3D, since that's what they were made for!

I am so sorry to everyone who wanted the Mane 6 gone, because even as a G4 fan I've gotten so sick of the rereleases, and yet, Hasbro still disappoints.

The good news is they won't be the focuses which is great, but how much y'all wanna bet these new characters will fill in the generation main cast plagues? We had the Core 7, the Mane 6, and now whatever the heck these new characters will be. I just want the ponies to be cute, that's it. If I don't like the designs I'm out.

But I'd be lying if I said I'm not somewhat excited about the movie. I want to see what it looks like before I cast my final judgements, and even though I'm okay with it taking place in the G4 world, I imagine a good lot of you aren't, and for that, I truly weep. It shouldn't have gotten to this point, but it did.

Also, I'm glad we dodged the bullet of the idea that the cast would be the Mane 6 with a twist. If it was that, I would scream bloody murder.
