trying to make a teddy bear
« on: June 08, 2013, 06:07:26 AM »
I have decided I would like a teddy bear in the style of bear factory. ( not build a bear and yes there is a difference)

Thing is, I can't find the pattern I need. I tried getting out from my bear factory teddies but my brain just can't process it.

The teddy will be a badger

You could always take a bear apart to get the pattern you need.

I have been looking but no luck so far.

I have managed to get the pattern for a foot by measuring my bear factory tiger

I know there are lots of old pattern books for bears, you might be able to get one used for cheap. I used to make teddy bears all the time and that's how I got most of my patterns. :)

I agree! There is a huge difference!
I love Bear Factory more I think. I like the way they sit.
I have a Husky. She can either sit up like a doll or lay down/sit like a dog and she looks great both ways! Definitely not something you find every day in a plush, so I'd understand why you'd want to make one with this pattern.

I can't give mine up, otherwise I'd offer to help! I think you should search ebay for one in awful condition so you can cut it up for the pattern :D

I have bought a pig. The stiching looked clearer and the pattern , simpler. I will try to take a pattern from it without cutting it up as I don't think I could do it.
