Yes indeed, you'll be tired for awhile. I discovered it makes life a little easier (sometimes) when the baby sleeps in the same room with you. With #1, she lived in a room down the hall and it was a pain to fetch her for the overnight feedings. I mean, we were like the walking dead at 2am to go get her. Might have bopped her against the wall in all that "drunken mummy" shuffling.

We wised up with #2 and 3. They resided in the same room and feeding was easier. Of course, it got tricky when they got into their inconsolable crying jags.

I don't remember when it starts getting better, but I can tell you I wish I had all those days (and yes, even the sleepless nights ) back again... they grow up so fast!  My son will be ten this year, and while I enjoy his company like no other - talking philosophy and social science with your own child is surreal but amazing - I still sometimes wish I could have him baby-sweet again, just for a little.  Enjoy it all!
