Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Re: Pokémon Go! Lapras and Articuno
« on: July 27, 2017, 11:48:59 PM »
Now I'm glad I couldn't go!

http://mashable.com/2017/07/23/pokemon-go-fest-disaster/?ref=yfp#bzhGY4Mzqaqi
-_- What I mess. I've been reading the stories and it just sounds crazy. I do feel sorry for Niantic -- what a terrible PR disaster -- but they should have done this right. I really don't understand what they're thinking sometimes! At least the attendees definitely get Lugia, store credit, and a refund of at least their ticket. (It's still pretty sad, though, because I think the big event of the day was supposed to be battling Lugia, not just getting Lugia handed to you . . . )

My husband and I actually managed to score tickets back when they were on sale, so we ended up going. It was.... pretty bad XD I think a lot of the problem was that they just never have dealt with THAT large of a crowd before. But I will say that the stories showing up on the internet are leaving out the good. From a software standpoint, the changes that Niantic were able to make so quickly was impressive, and once they widened the radius of the event to two miles away from the park in every direction it helped a LOT.

And yeah, the big major event WAS supposed to be everyone battling Lugia in the park. It was supposed to 'be a tough battle, but an easy catch', according to one of the staff members we spoke to. But we didn't miss out on that! They released the Lugia and Articuno raids all around that two mile radius of the city, and IT WAS EPIC! We were running from raid to raid, laughing and talking to other people doing the same thing (the raids started as a few at first and just kept spreading). Almost everyone we talked to said that THAT was what the event should have been, and that at that point everyone was having fun, getting to run around and raid, catch unown and heracross, and explore.

Over all we actually had a really good time and a nice little mini vacation, and would do it all over again.

Trader & Shipping Support / Ebay users? Please help!
« on: July 17, 2017, 12:16:26 PM »
I think this is the first time I've ever wandered over into this section of the Arena, but I REALLY need some ebay help.

I just had an ebay auction end, and shipping is time sensitive (it's a ticket for an event this weekend!). But when it comes to payment, it just says "Payment was initiated on Jul 17, 2017 and is being processed through PayPal."

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN!? O_o I see no evidence of any activity on my paypal account. When I click on "View Paypal Transaction" on my ebay page, it just errors out.

Does this mean that payment has been sent or not? I need to get this in the mail, and the entire thing has been crazy stressful  I want the buyer to get their ticket, but I would also like to make sure I get the money, you know?

Any help/answers would be great and really appreciated.

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Re: Amiibos
« on: July 13, 2017, 12:07:56 AM »
(Hope it's okay for me to bump this up ^^;)

Are Amiibos still being made? None of the game shops near me seem to carry them any more - the only place nearby that still has them is TRU and they don't seem to be getting any new ones in.. did something happen to them? :o I haven't seen new ones in stores for a while now.

Like Leave a Whisper said, yeah, they are still being made. The stock is still horrible though lol. A few weeks ago they released three new Legend of Zelda amiibo (exclusives; Gamestop, Best Buy, and Amazon all got one of the three). There are also the last three of the Super Smash Brothers line coming out on the 21st of this month, I think, though they decided to release them with Player 1 and Player 2 variant costumes. Some new Splatoon ones are coming, as are four more Legend of Zelda ones sometime towards the end of the year, Metroid got some, Fire Emblem has a few more coming...

They are still making them, but aren't being super loud about it. And like I said, the stock still isn't great. When the last three Zelda amiibo hit, Amazon sold out of their exclusive in minutes, and Best Buy and Gamestop barely got enough in to cover their pre-orders (my Gamestop had one extra to sell, and was only allowed to take two pre-orders for their exclusive).

I've still been playing :) I managed to snag the KHII Kairi when she was first released and she is a -complete- game changer. Many quests that I was stuck on has become a piece of cake sense getting her. She's set on all of my keyblades lol

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Re: Big Pokemon News???
« on: June 06, 2017, 07:49:20 AM »
I actually felt a little let down by the Direct today. Nothing really.... groundbreaking, I guess, in my opinion. At least nothing to really live up to the hype that got built up. I also wish they would stop with the weird doubling up on games. I own Black2 and White2, but never played them because I had -just- finished going through the original White when they came out. And right now, I'm still working my way through Moon just due to a lack of time to really sit down and play, so I'm not really interested in getting a newer, shiny Moon 2 version. I would have loved to see a main Pokemon game for the Switch, or some new pokemon amiibo, or even some Pokemon Go news lol. But, that is all just my opinion.

Has anyone been able to get the Genesect plush? I went out yesterday to about three or four different gamestops and not a single one had gotten ANY of their stock in (only one had the cards with the pin). Also, I hadn't realized that they didn't make a figure  That makes absolutely no sense to me

Off Topic / Healthy Pony Round 1 Brag
« on: October 14, 2016, 09:03:50 PM »
(Not sure if this should be in the brag area, since healthy pony took place over here in off topic,... so if it needs moved, sorry!  )

I want to thank everyone who voted for me in the round 1 of Healthy Pony to be the poster for healthy pony *so many pony hugs to everyone* I also want to give my sincerest apologies in how long it took to get this posted, but life de-railed me last week when my grandmother had a heart attack followed by a week long hospital stay with other complications (she's home and doing much better though!).

Crowning_Glory13 sent me a lovely little Healthy Pony Package, complete with an absolutely beautiful custom  :drunk: I can not get over just how gorgeous a design she is, and her hair curls are too cute! She's got a special home on my work space as a wonderful little motivator :D I also love the coloring pages and those stickers have already been used in my scrapbook.

@retrogradenova - Congrats on finishing the first challenge! Even just getting 3-4 days in at the start is really impressive, especially where chores are concerned (I can straight up say with 100% confidence that I would be unable to do 7 days straight of chores. I'm too flighty lol). Also, I love your sketches! The details in the first picture of the shark really pop to me, and also those customs  :dribble: I'm in love with Raspberry Cyclone, those colors are gorgeous. I'm glad that your first pony meet went well too. A meet is something I've always wanted to go to, but I'm too nervous and shy. It is awesome that Healthy Pony helped you build up to it and that it was a good experience. Congrats! *hugs* Also, I feel ya where chasing an animal around with eye drops are concerned. I had to do that with my cat once.... not a fun time XD

@Kiwi - Omg, that pumpkin is absolutely beautiful!  :dropjaw: I'm a sucker for that shade of blue/teal to start with, but your stitching looks flawless and the design is super cute. The choice to go with a grey face instead of a black one really does make everything pop, instead of being too heavy.

@Raspberry Brulee- Moving and apartment hunting can be majorly stressful when it is a planned thing. Having to move unexpectedly makes it way worse. Hopefully everything is going well and you have some relaxing downtime coming your way!

@Crowning_Glory13- How did we get to the end so fast?! Honestly, it feels like we all just started this O.o It doesn't help I suppose that I had in my head the end was on the 30th. My bad ^^;;;  I just sent in my vote and my address, though one more thing needs to be said.................. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!  :cheer: :birthday:  I hope you have a great day today :D

Sorry to everyone for disappearing there for awhile! I got super busy with a couple of things, most importantly my best friend's wedding!  :frolic: It was this last weekend and I was the maid of honor, which was a great honor but also super stressful. The best part was that the work I've done these last few months helped my dress fit better, so even though I've not met my goal of weight loss I did notice some positive change.

I know I've fallen behind on replying, so let me just say a BIG congratulations to everyone. I've gone back and caught up on the thread and we have all come so far. I really am proud of us all :D

I managed to complete my seven day challenge for challenge two, and I'm going to fall over now lol. Exercising daily with a partner is great for motivation, but my fiance ran my butt in to the ground earlier today. I feel good about it, because I wouldn't normally jog on my own outside (I prefer a treadmill for that), but I am tired. Going forward, it looks like we're going to keep trying to exercise together in the evenings. Im hoping that it will also help me stay constant with exercising this way (I figure seven days is a good start!)

@Kiwi -Thank you :) I hope that the more I make, the more I can figure out how to do. I've seen some absolutely beautiful yet simple pieces at the gem shows I go to shop at. Also, crafty legos is an amazing way to describe it, and you probably have more colors to work with than lego has to offer you. Do you use red-heart yarn by chance?

@banditpony - Glad to hear that you are feeling better! Hopefully your energy is coming back quickly. And as for the bread, yeah, you're probably right that if the other family member opened a store and doesn't seem to have the recipe, they probably wouldn't share. Upside, maybe since the one store is going out, the family member who opened a store will start baking the bread now (maybe before it was so they didn't completely compete with the original store). As for your HQ moving, try to think of your commute as a positive thing. When I was in college I had about an hour commute one way, and I absolutely loved it because it was a total of two hours of undisturbed me-time almost every day. My mom has been commuting to her job, about an hour each way, for almost forty years and she feels the same way. It can give you a bit of time to detox and process the day. So hopefully your commute doesn't end up being too bad of a thing.

@Crowning_Glory13 - I wouldn't say that you fell off the bandwagon *hugs* After all, you are still posting, and if you are still posting that means you are still going, right? I'm really glad to hear that you got that second interview too, and that you know what you are after in a job. Any kind of benefits is a huge bonus over a place that offers absolutely nothing. As for ideas to stay positive: sticky notes! Write down positive thoughts, encouraging words, positive traits about yourself and stick them everywhere where you are going to see them. Bonus points if you give them to someone else and have them put them places so that you are surprised. Basically it helps because if you start to feel down, you can look up and see that positive message sitting there. Also, you could try making origami paper stars. I've never done it myself, but I've seen others do so; basically, every time you do a thing, you make a star; get out of bed? Mark that down, it's a star. Shower? Star. Eat breakfast? Star. Do something big like clean an entire room? That is at least worth five stars, maybe more. Then you find a jar, a small one at first, and store them in there. Then as you make more, you have to get bigger and bigger jars to hold them, and you can look at that jar and -see- just how much you do in a day, even if it is the simple things of everyday life.

@retrogradenova -*so many kitty hugs* Having a feline  get diagnosed with diabetes can be very hard emotionally. Our first family cat was ultimately diagnosed with it in his later years, so I can fully understand what you have probably been going through and you have my sympathy. I know its hard, but stay positive; vet medicine has come so far over the years, and don't feel like you are begging for money because it isn't. It's just trying to raise money for a family member who needs help, and that isn't begging. As for your art, it looks awesome! I really want to see everything when you get them done (how did you sculpt those fetlocks!? I have tried and failed to get some to look that smooth o.o ) The playskool ones also look adorable. I don't think I've seen any customized before, and the picture frame is amazing. I thought that was official merchandise at first.

I'm finally feeling fully back to my old self. Summer colds are the worst, lol (though I'm sure I would be saying the same thing if it were winter!). I started my challenge 2 last Thursday, so I still have a few days to go, but so far so good! I actually ended up focusing on exercise rather than my jewelry like I had first planned. Sometimes it is really hard to get motivated to get up and move, so my challenge 2 has ended up being exercising for at least thirty minutes with a partner every day. This has worked out really well so far, since my fiance is my exercise buddy and has been working out on his own anyway. It has really helped to keep me encouraged and motivated.

@Crowning_Glory13 - I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling so down. The job hunt/being without a job really is one of the worst feelings, but I know you'll find something. Try to ignore the rejection letters and the lack of interviews; I know that a lot of places post job listings because they are typically required to do so, but they already have someone they want to hire so they ignore everyone who applies! I've run in to it a lot actually where I live, and it is truly a crappy system. I hope that your interview goes well today :D Make sure to let us know! And also, a ramon noodle salad sounds really good! How did you go about making it because it sounds like something I would like to try sometimes.

@Kiwi- I agree with the lull; it's that time of year! lol. I took a peek at your etsy store and I love the layout (that banner is so cool!). The Hogwarts Train you posted earlier is fantastic; how the heck do you come up with patterns like that? O.o (My granny used to work with the plastic canvas and yarn as well, and I never could figure out how she made even a simple tissue box, lol). Your idea to do smaller items to help fill up the shop is a good one too. With my etsy, I typically tend to get the most traffic when I do bulk uploads.

@banditpony - Welcome to the sick club; here is your free box of tissues and cold medicine lol. *pony hugs* Nah, but in all seriousness, I hope you feel better soon. Just got over being sick myself, so I know how that can slow you down. I don't know if they would do it, but if you can get to the shop one last time why not ask them for the bread recipe? If you talk to them about how much you like it and how long your family has been going there, they might share it with you since they will be closing. Worst they can say is no, after all!

Pony Corral / Re: Where to find pony clothes for kids?

Thank you for all the suggestions and ideas. I've passed all the info along to her and it sounds like they have found some designs that everyone in the family can agree on.

Pony Corral / Where to find pony clothes for kids?
« on: August 15, 2016, 12:03:22 PM »
A friend of mine messaged me this morning, as I'm the resident pony fan and she, well, not so much lol. Unfortunately, this time I couldn't really help her out. Apparently her five year old son is in LOVE with the friendship is magic series, and as five year old kids do he wants clothes to match his current likes.

So here is the question; where could she look to find pony shirts for a five year old that don't look too girly? (He's starting school soon and she's heard the stories of kids being bullied over MLP, so she's worried). I checked out We Love Fine earlier, since I've bought some of their designs before, but their section for kids was seriously lacking.

@TornadoTwist - Congrats on finding some of your old childhood toys. Speaking from experience, that can be such a great feeling and experience, especially if you didn't know they were there or were still around. Also glad to hear that room cleaning is going well. I am sorry to hear that you had to deal with some brats while playing Pokemon Go. I've seen a lot of people talking about being targeted just because they enjoy going around playing, and kids typically go straight for the name calling, so I hope you didn't let that get you down. *hugs*

@Crowning_Glory13- I'm sorry to hear that you lost your job, but I am so glad to hear that you are out of a hostile work environment *many pony hugs* I can say, from personal experience, that working too long in a hostile work environment can really do a lot of damage. And even though it sucks to be unemployed, it is so much better than being stuck somewhere like that. I hope that you can find something else soon, so that stress and pressure isn't hanging over your head, but until then just remind yourself that -they- had the problem, not you. Because from the time frame of how long you worked there, it really does sound like they let you go just to avoid something (especially since no one said anything to you. That isn't normal in a work environment)

As for my check in, bleehhhhhhh..... lol. Things were going really great; we went out of town for four days and managed to eat pretty healthy (we packed fruits and protein bars so we weren't living off vending machines and fast food, like we had in the past). Lots of walking around too, about fourteen to sixteen hours a day of almost constant walking, though unfortunately very little sleep. Then the day after we got back we were hit with con plague, and I have done practically nothing but sleep for an entire week >_> And I have eaten more ice cream in the last five days than I have in the last six months. Most of the time it didn't even taste good, it just was the only thing that didn't kill my throat, so it wasn't even enjoyable to eat! XD So yeah; illness sent my efforts spiraling off the rails. I'm feeling better though, so as soon as I kick the cough that's settled in I plan to get back to a normal routine.

As for the new challenge, I'll aim to start up sometime this week, though it may be closer to the end of the week. I'll stay focused on my jewelry for now, and for a new way of completing my goal I'll try to sketch out my designs ahead of time, instead of just winging it, so that I can come up with some new wire patterns and designs.

My update is a little later than I wanted it to be, but I've been busy. I didn't get as much that I wanted done last week since I spent the first two and a half days of the week with a migraine that wouldn't go away (it happens occasionally when our weather goes through a sudden, dramatic change >.> ). So not too much exercising. On the upside, no snacking or overeating because I felt horrible, so silver lining XD But I did get a few more pieces of jewelry for my store done, and was able to etch out a handful as well, so I'm staying on track with that. Things will be really slow though starting tomorrow because we're heading out on vacation for the rest of the week *excited*

@banditpony - Slip ups are perfectly ok. No one can keep running up a mountain at full tilt without having to stop. Just take the day and admit that you are taking a rest day, no matter the reason why, and that you'll resume the next day (hopefully your angry feeling has gone away! I hope everything is ok *hugs*)

@JazzMatazz- *hugs* So glad to hear that your dad got a clean bill of health back. Having a family member going through anything health related can really be one of the most stressful things.
